Tandis Nami, DDS

I have known Doctor Nami for years. When I read the reviews on Unilocal I was mostly shocked. The comments are extremely far from how Doctor Nami treats her business and cares for her patients.
Doctor Nami used to have her own practice in Sherman Oaks/​Van Nuys area for a while. I started going to her practice when she had just stared operating at that location (August 2007). Later she moved out (September 2010) and started practicing at Western Avenue Dental (San Pedro, CA). She is still at the San Pedro location (946 South Western Avenue
CA 90 732) and I visited her for a filling just a few days ago, early January 2016.
Doctor Nami has been providing me with an amazing and professional service for the past 9 years either at her own practice or at the new location. I have always obtain a very thorough examination of my teeth and have been provided with amazing service whether it was just a cleaning or more complicated procedures. She stays calm during the process and tries to entertain and distract you. She has always been able to explain every single procedure to me with high level of details before performing the work. She takes her time and never rushes answering questions.
Doctor Nami is a super-​sweet and caring person. It’s clear she cares about you as a patient and a person. When she found out that I have been grinding my teeth she suggested me to wear a night guard in order to prevent further damages to my teeth. None of my previous doctors ever mentioned this option to me. However, she didn’t stop there. She explained to me the effect of stress on my oral hygiene and teeth and suggest more treatments than just a night guard. Since then I have been following her advice and been doing much better in taking care of my teeth and stress.
Doctor Nami is a soft spoken person and does her magic to relax her patients during the visit. While she doesn’t overwhelm you with conversations she keeps communicating with a subtle humor and smile which makes it easy to stick to the chair and carry on with the dental treatment. She is also very upfront and clear about her recommendations and treatments. I have never had any complications or problem with her treatment or practice.
I wish there were more doctors like her. I will absolutely recommend her to any friend who needs a visit to the dentist.

I agree 100% with the review from Kurrin. The «doctor’s» only concern is how to increase the bottom line. I was given «special mouthwash,» which I thought was a sample. I was charged an extra $ 20 for it. I had a lot of unnecessary work done before I wised up and found a new dentist. At my last appointment, I was told I had three cavities. The new dentist x-​rayed and told me I had none. What does that tell you?
