Tina’s Trees

I bought my noble fir tree here on Dec 1 and it lasted until the first week of January! I spritzed it with water every morning and before bed. Of course the smell weakened as the days passed but it remained beautifully green. I also bought some garland twice in December. I think they spray a flame retardant on them so there’s very little spruce smell on the garlands.
Both times I visited, the employees were so helpful. If you want to get in the Christmas spirit just wander into their tent and breathe in those evergreens. The prices are okay for the area and you’re charged per foot. The quality of the trees and service really drew me to this location. There were 5 other lots near me and none of them smelled right to me. I paid around $ 80 for tree, stand, and plastic carrying bag. They will also saw off a fresh cut for you and load the tree onto your car. I recommend bringing a damp towel to wrap the newly cut trunk. Keeps the tree fresher!

Very sad to write this review after going to Tina’s Trees for last 15 years. We bought our annual 7 ½ foot noble tree this year. Delivered that night. It had no smell at all so I went to talk to Tina about it. She said they could not be responsible for anything. Some trees smell and others don’t. No offer to switch it out which made me feel she has no Christmas goodwill. Only in it for the mighty buck. What my husband and I realized was that they probably didn’t make a fresh cut because I never had to add water to the bowl stand. The tree was dry and crispy within two days. Won’t be back to Tina’s next year, nor will my friends (and Tina, I have many) in solidarity. Next time be kinder.

Ever since we discovered Tina’s Trees over 10 years ago we never bought a tree from another tree lot. The service in selecting a tree and having it delivered is consistently great, and the trees are always beautiful and fresh, lasting from the beginning of December to the beginning of January. Tina is fantastic in accommodating our requests and makes us feel like family.

Got a reasonable deal on a decent tree. Paid $ 40 extra for delivery the following morning. Have been waiting most of the day, and the tree has still not arrived. The take-​home message? Bring a truck.

Last year (2014) = 5 star experience
This year (2015) = 3 stars for lack of process and because I *hate* being lied to, no matter how small. The only reason it’s not 2 is because of our experience last year, and because of other staff that I witnessed while we were there.
Unfortunately, since this is just a Christmas tree, there’s not many factors that can go into the star rating. I mean, let’s face it, it’s not a very detailed process.
We went to get our tree today, albeit much later than usual, and came back here because of our great experience last year. Today, the selection and quality wasn’t that great which I’m thinking is because it’s later in the season. However, we found a 7+ foot noble fir that we liked. Although it took quite a while for anyone to ask how we were doing, a man finally came over. Since most of the trees had an excess number of dead needles on/​in them, I asked him about them. He assured me it wasn’t a sign of the tree itself, and they would definitely shake the tree to get all of the dead needles off before sending it home with me. He would also cut the bottom of the tree trunk so it would be fresh and absorb the water better. Okay, cool.
I was trusting in their process until him and another guy loaded the tree onto my car and a bunch of dead needles fell onto my roof and the surrounding area. «Did you shake the tree, because this is a lot of dead needles?» «Um, yeah, I think they did.» Who is they?! Dude, don’t lie; you were the only person helping us!
He offers to take it off and shake it for us, to which I agree. Him and the other guy bring the tree down and manually shake it a bit, then put it right back on the car. Shortly after, I see another man helping another couple, and he loaded the tree onto a platform which vigorously shook the tree many times. Interesting.
Additionally, he did not cut the bottom of the tree like he said he would. Can I just point out that’s a normal part of the process? The stand never came off. Tree lots also usually ask if you’d like anything cut off the bottom and/​or the top, but he did not. I asked him to trim a bit of the long stem on the top, but for some reason didn’t think about the branches at the bottom until we got home. Partly my fault, yes, but again, it shouldn’t be my job to remember your process (or what should be your process).
Also, when another guy was tying the tree on, he moved the tarp back and then pushed the branches right across the edge of my roof. Thanks, I just had the tarp there for decoration!
For those interested, they do deliver but I feel like it’s overpriced — it would have cost $ 40 to deliver to Valley Village. The tree itself, with tax, was $ 98, which I find to be an average price for a noble fir this size, so no complaints there.
As for the tree stands, they will put the tree in your personal stand free of charge. They will also send the tree with you in the stand it’s already in, which is what we chose (also free of charge). In hindsight, I think the guy only encouraged us to take that option so he wouldn’t have to deal with our stand.
The staff we encountered, including when we paid, were not as friendly as last year (although they weren’t rude by any means). The whole experience was just blah and not what I’m looking for from a Christmas tree lot. It’s Christmas people, at least act happy and pleasant! Oh, and follow your standard operating procedures — or create some if they do not currently exist!

Hate to be the bad reviewer… But I’m pretty unhappy with my purchase from here. While we found the prices to be fairly competitive and the people friendly, the tree itself seems old and limp. We paid $ 115.00 for an 8 ft. noble fir, and while the needles felt nice and soft, and were very green, now that we’ve gotten it home it’s so limp even the lightest of my ornaments are falling off. I’ve broken about 5 so far, from just the weight of the ornament being too much for the branch. And I’ve not even been able to use any of my nicer «glass» ornaments this year because of this, (too heavy) and that really bums me out. The tree simply will NOT support any of them. I’ve only had it up 2 days, and the needles it’s dropping are unbelievable. If you touch it, needles fly everywhere. It just looks like a droopy old tree. So between the limp branches and the dropping needles constantly, I feel this tree is much older than I was told. Perhaps it was treated with something to soften it and make it green, but with Christmas weeks away yet, I fear what this tree will look like by the end of the season.
Maybe I’m the exception, but this is my experience. I’m very unhappy. I won’t be back.

I love Tina’s trees! This was our first year there and I’m so happy with this place. For one they have a ton of quality trees including really tall… I swear there were 12 foot trees there! Anyway we ended up with a 7 – 8 foot tree for $ 100 and it’s perfect! Last year we paid nearly double for the same size and quality tree somewhere else.
They also have cute decoration items. like little reindeer and snowmen made out of tree, wreaths, mistletoe, etc.
They are also really friendly and helpful. Basically when you get there you can walk around yourself or have someone walk around with you/​direct you to a tree depending on what you request.
Then they’ll clean it up, slice the bottom, and put it on your car all tied up nicely for you.
I do believe they deliver also, but we didn’t do that so I can rate it, but I’m sure they’re awesome!

Came by to Tina’s trees to check out a different place this year for our tree picking. They have some really large trees here if your looking for size. I was really interested in this place because they carried the Fraser tree which I had not come across at other lots before, and I mean being as my last name is Fraser, I figured it was a sign!
My husband and I swung by on Saturday afternoon and there were lots of folks on the lot ready to help us out. We walked around and checked out the variations in the types of trees and felt like the Fraser was actually best suited for our needs. A good mix of kind of all of the types of trees. This guy named Juan really took his time to explain the differences in trees and help us find just the right one! They gave it a fresh cut and strapped that bad boy to the roof! They offer delivery but the fee varies based on where they need to drop it off. We were told they were so backed up it wouldn’t get delivered until tomorrow and it was a $ 35 charge to take it to Encino.
Overall great experience!

We got a tree from Tina for the first time this year, and while we had an issue with the flocking coming off as a fine powder that got everywhere, Tina was very quick to take care of the situation.
Because of her fantastic customer service, she has gained another loyal customer. I am confident that she will resolve any issue that may come up, and that is invaluable.

We had such a wonderful experience with Tina’s Trees. They have a large inventory to choose from, and their trees are beautiful. Once we settled on a tree, Tina processed our order and scheduled same-​day delivery. The tree arrived looking as perfect as it did on the lot, and the delivery staff was very careful to protect our wood floors as they situated the tree in our living room. We will definitely be using Tina’s Trees again next year!

This place is the crème de la crème of Christmas Trees. I’ve only been coming here for two years, but it feels like a lifetime.
The entire staff makes you feel like you’re apart of the family. Everyone is marvelous, and incredibly helpful. And the prices? You can’t beat them for the quality of tree you’re receiving. We bought our tree on December 10 (2014) and as of today January 11 (2015) the tree is still green, not dry, and has lasted almost a month. (We celebrate Ukrainian Christmas, so we need a tree that lasts until at least the 12^th of January.
We bought a 7.5 foot tree for 88 bucks. That didn’t include the one time fee of the tree stand, from the previous year, but if you bring the stand back every year, they don’t charge you, they just exchange it.
The tree selection was super large, and there were so many different kinds to choose from in a variety of sizes. When you find the tree of your Christmas Dreams, find a helpful attendant who will mark your tree. If you aren’t taking it that day, pay upfront and they will move the tree to the reserved tree section.
Can’t wait to come next year and find our tree.

I love Tina’s Trees! I’ve been a customer for several years getting my tree w/​purple flock. Its a little pricey but each year my tree turns out BEAUTIFUL !!! I’ll come back and share pictures!

I have to say I had a great experience here. Monic was excellent and really made us feel welcome and was really helpful, he really helped our buying experience. I would feel guilty if I didn’t leave a glowing review just so that others would buy their Christmas trees from Tina’s Trees. We just had the most gorgeous tree delivered. But what made the experience worth raving over was how lovely and wonderful Tina & her employees are. Two of her employees had to haul my gigantic tree up 6 flights of stairs when the tree proved to large for our freight elevator. I know I would have gotten an attitude! But these guys were nothing but smiles and so utterly pleasant … and they took their time getting the tree set up and let us adjust the stand and position until we were happy. They deliver for a fee (and we live far far away from their base in the valley … all the way in downtown LA) – and I highly recommend it!

We don’t live that close to Sherman oaks but we go to Tina’s cause it’s worth the drive. Every tree there is so beautiful and incredibly fresh. Everyone there is so helpful, so you’re in and out with a gorgeous tree in no time. I just found out that they even deliver. Totally recommend going to Tina’s!

We were looking for a beautiful tree for our first Christmas in our new condo. The run of the mill trees at Home Depot were not going to work for us, so we wanted something affordable but fresh. We found Tina’s online and went to the Sherman Oaks lot. They have a ton of different trees in all sizes, and the best part is that they come straight from the source. We actually saw the tree we wanted being loaded of the truck that came straight from Oregon. Tina’s provided a stand and base (not wood blocks, but a floor safe option with rubber and bars) and loaded it straight on to the car. Great experience, easy and a perfectly groomed fresh cut tree. I think we found our new tree spot for every Christmas!

My family has been buying our Christmas tree from Tina’s for the past 10 years. Everyone who works there is extremely helpful and really nice! All the trees we’ve gotten have stayed fresh for over a month. Not one complaint or issue. Expect us back again this year!
Tip: Bring your old tree stand with you!

My 3^rd year getting my tree from Tina. Truly exceptional trees and service. My trees from Tina have stayed fresh every year until after Epiphany. My tree was delivered today and my whole house now smells like Christmas. I actually called and asked if she would pick out the tree for me and deliver it. How easy is that???
Tina and her family are truly lovely and helpful. They carry all needed supplies and the tree come already in its own tree stand, so no more trying to get it perfect. It already is!

Had a really great experience buying a Silvertip christmas tree from Tina’s Trees. First, we spent a whole evening driving around to all our neighborhood tree lot searching for Silvertips to no avail. Turns out, they’re VERY hard to get because they grow in the high altitude in Oregon. Finally after making numerous calls I was directed to Tina’s Trees. I called and confirmed they had Silvertips even up to 10′ high!
We raced over and they had a nice selection of every kind of tree, all sizes but mainly in really fine/​ideal shapes, not those weird disfigured ones you see at Home Depot with all the needles already falling off, etc.
The silvertip tree is definitely the most expensive tree you can get because of its extremely elegant look, and sturdy branches, not to mention it takes 25 years to grow them (yes, we feel like total dicks now for buying/​killing one for our amusement). We selected a 7′ tree that was to our liking and instantly got help by a really friendly guy who gave it a fresh cut and mounted it to our car with zero hassle.
We paid for the tree with Tina herself who was really friendly and had a great disposition. (Some tree lots are run by weird grumpy men who try to upsell you with all sorts of crap you don’t need, Tina is not like that.)
Overall, it was a great experience and I’ll definitely be back next year.
I should note they also do a really nice job on flocking trees! We’re thinking we’ll go that route next year.
