Hutchins Plumbing

While some may be pleased with Hutchins plumbing in Sherman, I am not one of them. It was two days before Christmas and I needed a gas pressure check done. My usual plumber, Mr. Plumber, was booked. Hutchins came recommended by friends so I called them. They were able to come out. Since it was two days before Christmas, I asked if there were any set fees other than the $ 69 service fee. I was told no. When the technician arrived, I was quoted a $ 650 charge. There is a $ 100 permit fee. That’s standard I wasn’t told that. Also, there is a charge for the test, it is understandable that once the test is performed more fees could be incurred if a leak is found. Two days before Christmas… I would have loved to know this over the phone and save that $ 69. That would have influenced my decision to wait on Mr. Plumber. I understand that when a company charges a service fee they probably don’t feel any obligation to reveal certain truths upfront. I find this dishonest and unprofessional.
