Great breakfast and HUGEMIMOSAS! I had the California Omelette with egg whites. This place beats Early Toast, for sure. Service is great and super friendly! Patio seating was full so we sat in a booth and felt like we were in Europe — so quaint!

This place is great! Friendly service, excellent crepes and omelettes, delicious strong coffee. There are also some Eastern European specialties that I have not found at other restaurants. Their European sausages are delicious! Not always the speediest, but not slow either, if you’re impatient it may not be your kind of place. My girlfriend and I try to stop in every month or so and we love this restaurant. It almost feels like you are in someone’s home and that you are very welcome there.

Everything about this place was super nice! Coffee is served in cute little mismatched teacups with saucers. There are fresh flowers on every table. There’s nice outside seating with a garden and inside there’s comfy and quaint booths and tables. The food and service were excellent too.

Get the Bosnian Dish: «Cevapcici»!! It was delicious! We had a perfect dining experience two weeks ago. [I meant to do this review sooner!] The staff was friendly and very helpful with the menu. Go there with a group if you can to mix-match multiple entrees: it is a very unique menu. You can’t go wrong if you ask for the top-selling items.

I keep coming back here and enjoying it, and the kitchen is still as good and caring as when it opened. It is known for mostly interesting crêpe dishes but there is much more to enjoy here. Enjoy the patio which is beautifully shaded, has views of El Dorado County and is just a great place to enjoy food and company. I have always been impressed by the coffee bar, it actually lives up to the«Euro» tag in the restaurant’s name. Nice staff here as well, who are always visible and taking care of guests. It’s great to see this place get some business now(I was worried for them), because their location is a bit challenging for high traffic and El Do County is not often friendly to finer dining. Go CT European, and venture beyond the crepes. It might transport you over the Atlantic.

Food is amazing! American chef but the food feels European. California crêpe was perfect… And the small is really not that small.

Truly delicious food! Tonight we had the Hungarian Goulash, seasoned perfectly! My Husband had the Chicken Marsala. He said he’ll have a hard time ordering anything else. We topped it off with Crêpe Suzette. We will definitely return. Their site said they were closed. I think it’s because of the hours of operation listed. Pointed it out to the owner, they will fix it.

Went for lunch and sat on the deck with a group of 10 women. We had excellent service and the food was delish. The goulash was fantastic. Not one complaint from anyone in the group and everyone wants to go back and bring their husbands for dinner. This was my first time. But it will not be my last Sorry no pictures, the portions were a very good size.

Sunday noon time rush — I totally understand them being busy… and they were, however; we waited 65 minutes for our meal and not once did the server come by and say sorry or give us an update at all. We finally got frustrated(yes after 65 minutes) and told them we were going to run home and to please just get it ready to go and we would be back(we only live a few minutes away). I ordered a LARGE salad and bowl of soup(soup of the day said Cream of Asparagus). I asked if it came with a specific salad or if I could I choose any of the salads listed… she said I could choose any of them. My husband ordered the chicken salad panini. So we went back to pick it up but we had had already made up our minds that we wouldn’t stay if it wasn’t ready but it was. I looked at the receipt in the car and saw they charged me another 3 dollars for the ‘you can choose any salad’ salad! Not cool! We took our meal home and I open it up to find Chicken Noodle Soup(which I hate btw) and not the Cream of Asparagus, and my salad was about 1 ½ cups of spinach(that’s not ‘Large’). The soup was just canned(I think) soup — too salty, mushy noodles, and a few tiny pieces of chicken… I really do think it was canned. My husband’s panini was just o.k. he said he like the bread. We saw a lot of people ordering the crepes and they all looked wonderful. I just wasn’t in the mood for a crêpe. There was a large group of 15 people that came in and we heard the server say she was going to ‘stall them’ and not go take their order for about 15 minutes to give the cooks time to catch up! Really? Again… Not Cool! Another guy came in and sat at the bar and didn’t even get acknowledged for about 15 minutes, finally he said he was there to pick up a to-go order… that order had been sitting on the bar right in front of him for about 20 minutes! Needless to say, we won’t be going back which is a shame because the crepes really did look good. What we had was just not worth the wait nor was the food worth the money.

This was our first time here and it was well worth the drive down the hill. We took advantage of the Group on deal, and it was SO worth it! Although the food(chicken masala and chicken schnitzel) was fabulous, the mother-daughter duo that run the place make the dining experience even better. Truly a family run business, well worth trying. I love being able to eat great food locally.

We love Crepetown. Admittedly we don’t get crepes and usually opt for the Cevapcici and Goulash. It’s always really good and the staff and owners are super nice.

The restaurant is absolutely adorable and perfect for an intimate date, or catching up with friends and family. Located right off Ponderosa Road, in Shingle Springs next to a tea shop. Owed by Alma and Eddie, originally from Bosnia and Croatia, they are truly the sweetest of people. Crepetown is a gem. Having been born and raised in Eastern Europe, I can vouch for the authentic European food they serve. A beautiful and delicious selection of savory crepes that will leave you drooling. I highly recommend the Chicken Rosemary or the Beef Burgundy. If crepes aren’t your thing, try the German Schnitzel or Hungarian Goulash. Europe in general has a thing for sausages(little and big ones), but the Bosnian Cevapcici(have fun pronouncing that), are famous and considered the best out of all varieties for a reason. It comes in 5 or 10(I always get the 10) pieces of skinless sausages, made from minced beef and spices, then grilled. Served in a warm pita bread, with sour cream, onions and Ajvar, which is an incredible vegetable spread. On occasion, I’ve startled other patrons as I grunted in pleasure when I took that first bite. There are plenty of vegetarian and vegan options, crepes can be made gluten free upon request. They serve beer and wine. Take a look at some of their foreign beers, such as the Karlovako that pairs beautifully with the Cevapcici. I love craft beer, but USA has a long way to go before they can compare with the crisp lagers of Europe. Desert crepes are freaking amazing. If you have an ever-demanding sweet tooth like I do, the Nutella Strawberry Crêpe is perfect. The Lemon Delight is light and refreshing, while the Creamy Delight pairs beautifully with a cup of cappuccino. Did I mention they make the Chantilly Cream(sweetened whip cream) in-house? Its thicker in texture and way better tasting. You won’t go back to that canned crap. Finish off with a coffee or cappuccino served in the most adorable and personable little coffee sets, Alma collects from all over. It’s the kind of place that transports you to another world. Sit on the patio(that’s beautifully decorated) and enjoy yourself. Be patient, because good food takes time and truly experience your environment and company.

Sunday morning. Shortly after opening. Calm inside. Here for breakfast. Plenty of open tables and seats at the bar/counter. Pole sign reads«CT European Café» Two booths in the main area along with seats for 7 at the bar/counter. The adjacent room as free standing tables. There’s a cozy outdoor patio area, as well. It’s a warm interior with a European feel with the color on the walls and the general décor. Coffee is served in cup and non-matching saucer, both decorated fancy. At the counter, look forward to a colorful placemat. Nothing is rushed here. Watching the movement of the few staff, they are very calm. I suppose that’s why some people referred to «slow» in their reviews. It’s not slow … it’s calm and relaxed. If you really want a speedy meal, go find McDenny’s. I hopped up on a seat at the counter; dining on my own today. «Yes, please,» when asked and the coffee presented in a fancily decorated cup with non-matching saucer. they all appear that way. I like it. Crêpe’s are the thing here but they also offer other breakfast regulars. Today, it’s about a crêpe. Sunshine Crêpe(scrambled egg with white cheddar) and added avocado and Italian sausage. As the side, I chose the potatoes. The crêpe, stuffed with egg et al, came plated quarter-fold style with the taters along side. Pleasantly pleased with the relaxed friendly service, not rushed, and good food.

My husband and I have to say that they are just great! Start from beautiful flowers everywhere. And inside atmosphere it felt like in mamas kitchen. So welcoming! The lady that took our order was so kind! She’s from Croatia. So neat! I ordered the crab cake Benedict on top of crêpe. So delicious! Freshly made and it’s just right flavors, texture and taste! My husband had California crêpe which was not bad. We sure will be back.

Terrific experience sitting on the outside patio. This was our first visit since they moved from Burke Junction and I’m sad it took this long to make the trip. Service was fast and friendly, food was excellent and atmosphere relaxing. As a formally trained Chef I pause when restaurants claim«homemade» food as it’s all too often abused. Fortunately CTC appeared to back it up. The hollandaise was smooth, crepes were light and airy and the poached eggs were perfectly cooked. If this experience can be replicated we will be back soon and often! Thanks CTC, Shingle Springs needed a change of pace breakfast stop with hints of Napa influence.

I came here with my grandmother, great aunt when I visited them in Shingle Springs. They introduced me to this lovely crêpe shop and I was excited to check it out! Everything looked good on the menu and if you check in on help you get a whopping 25% off entire bill! Woot! So here’s what we all ordered that I was able to taste: SAVORYCREPE — CHICKENROSEMARY — $ 11.95 Chicken breast, Rosemary, béchamel sauce, with cheddar cheese. Served with potatoes as choice(or salad). This was my dish! I had requested no rosemary and our cute waiter suggested to replace r with the pesto chicken instead. Great! Unfortunately, there was a misunderstanding and he brought out a panini version instead of crêpe! It’s ok I didn’t mind waiting a bit longer. He brought back out the potatoes that came with my meal… which actually was not good at all. It’s ok it’s for the best I eat too many bad carbs. :). So when the crêpe came out it was quite creamy and cheesy which is what I love! There’s nothing healthy about it… no vegetables at all. It was quite filling and it was the least favorite out of all the dishes we ordered. SAVORYCREPE — CALIFORNIA — $ 10.45 Basil pesto, avocado, spinach, red onion, artichoke hearts, sundries tomatoes, white cheddar cheese. served with Salad as choice. I loved this one! It tastes healthy and in a great way! I wish I had ordered this myself but my grandma made a great choice to have this and a salad! Yeah the salad is a better choice over potatoes in my opinion. This crêpe is filled with such wonderful things and I will order this myself the next time I come back! CREPEBENEDICT — $ 9.75 Smoked ham and 2 poached eggs served on fresh crêpe, hollandaise sauce. With extra crispy hash browns as choice(or potatoes or fruit). I wish I had ordered this instead because I was so good and I was debating on it. Ok glad my great aunt did because I got to try some! They are generous with the sauce and I just love this so much! The hash browns were good and probably be chase of the extra crispy request! PANINI — ROASTBEEF — $ 10.95 House Made roast beef, White cheddar cheese, sautéed red onions and sliced tomatoes, roasted garlic mayo. Fries as choice(or salad). My aunt did a great job picking this as her meal. It was so good! It was warm, crispy, gooey and full of flavor! I know this sounds unhealthy too but at least it was quite tasty to the max! The French fries were fine I wii don’t say there was anything special about it. I had some while I waited for my crêpe. And for dessert… SWEETCREPE — LEMONDELIGHT — $ 7.25 Sweet ricotta cheese, lemon sauce, whipped cream. This one is for lemon desserts out there like me! Even though it looks like it’s nothing but the whipped topping, there is that sweet ricotta cheese under there. I wish there were more like the other crêpe we ordered. It was still a delight! :) SWEETCREPE — CREAMYDELIGHT — $ 8.95 Strawberries, raspberries and blueberries filled with sweet cheese, walnuts and whipped cream. This was definitely the better dessert choice! I can taste more no the swet cheese filling with all the berries on top! The walnut toppings are actually tiny crumbles which I find better and liked! This is a great one to share and I loved it! This place is so cute! There’s a different set of salt n pepper shakers at each table. People here are friendly. However service was a bit weird. My grandmother is a regular and noticed her usually server wasn’t there that day to serve us. It wasn’t a busy time to eat but it took a long while to get our food, and get our bill corrected(they forgot to apply the Unilocal check-in special). It’s ok the waiter was cute and nice. Maybe he’s new. :P I’d come back the next time I visit my grandmother. :)
