Another restaurant on the 101 Unique Places To Dine in WV that the significant otter and I decided to check off on recent travels. Shinnstown is a little off the beaten path(between Fairmont and Clarksburg) but I love riding on the back roads and was quite happy to be off the interstate. The otter and I ordered hamburgers and fries for lunch and our food was much better than that we could’ve ordered at chains closer to interstate exits. Our server was friendly and the price was right.

All you can eat spaghetti(and pizza i think) night! The entire town shows up so not only is it tons of food, but very social as well. I had the pleasure of being taken there by the Gillum Inn owners(very kind, warm, welcoming people) and was really overwhelmed with the warmth I experience despite being a total stranger to the town-folk.

Don’t know much about the Italian, since my husband and I went for lunch, but the hamburgers were UNBELIEVABLE! Almost ordered another.

Formerly AJ’s Diner, this place has been owned and run by the same family for 3 generations at least. This is the best diner in Shinnston and it hasn’t changed much since becoming Jimmy’s. They mostly specialize in Italian classics, but also make you typical diner fare and pizzas. You feel like part of their family when dining here. Nothing makes me feel at home more than a stop in here. Love love love their meatball subs!
