Fireside Cafe

Our sandwiches were great! Good service, and got our meals quickly. Much quicker than the restaurant across the way. The ice cream is fantastic too! I will definitely come back next time I need a quick bite to eat!

Have eaten here serveral times, the food and service is always great. Tonight I ordered online through the Unilocal app. even paid for it online and picked it up at the drive thru window. very convenient!

I personally believe this is the best place to grab a bite to eat in Shipshewana. I live a few minutes away from Fireside, and I have found that the drive thru is fabulous– I often call my order ahead and it’s ready by the time I get there! The meats are smoked, the sides are homemade, and everything is absolutely delicious. I recommend getting a meal– adding a drink, one of the homemade sides, and ice cream. It’s well worth an extra &3! The ice cream is extraordinary. They have a selection of 28 flavors, and it is always a challenge to pick just one!
I am definitely a regular at Fireside and I can honestly say I’ve never had a bad experience. The staff is super friendly, and always willing to fix something if you’re not happy. The staff is eager to answer any questions, and will go out of their way to get answers to the questions they don’t know. I would recommend Fireside Café to any and all!

Very friendly staff. Nice atmosphere. We sat by the quaint fireplace. Cranberry salad was ok. Brisket Mac and cheese Quesadilla was decent, a little too cheesy for us.

We had a great lunch here — chicken wraps made of fresh ingredients, crispy broccoli salad, and a dip of great ice cream. Everything looked good, and I’d like to go back and try everything on the menu. It was a cold wet day, and we sat near the fireplace. The dining area is very spacious and clean.
Driving by, we didn’t find this place right away because it’s inside of Yoder’s market. Now we know.

The food was good, but I don’t like to stand in line and order at a counter and then go find a seat. I wish they had a wait staff.

The perfect little lunch spot. Great food and wonderful service. It was the best potato salad I’ve ever had and the wonderfully amazing smell of the waffle cones made sure I didn’t leave without a little ice cream for dessert.

This is a hidden gem. Great food, great service, great place to eat! It’s only open until 7^th but let me tell you the pulled pork and the brisket are worth the early dinner. This is one of the best places in Middlebury /​Shipshewana area. Located inside Yoder Department Store, you have got to go and check this place out! The mac and cheese is really good and they also have like 20 different flavors of ice cream. It’s a must go!

What a darling café ~ especially at Christmas time. Breakfast, sandwiches, platters & entrees, wraps, homemade soups, coffee, shakes and ice cream.
They don’t have a huge selection of ice cream, BUT I don’t believe I have seen ice cream so packed full of «nuts, berries, caramel, peppermint, etc etc»!!
I rarely get a cone when we go out for ice cream because the cones are usually not fresh. The Fireside Café waffle cones are fresh! I tried the chocolate waffle cone with «this just got serious» ice cream ~ oh mylanta ~ YUM! Salted caramel ice cream brimming with chocolate. You can sample the flavors to find one you like.
When in Shipshewana I highly recommend stopping in this café ~ trust me you don’t want to skip dessert!

What can I say, I love this place. The food is fresh and delicious, the staff is friendly and the restaurant is extremely clean and cozy.
I ordered the turkey bacon guacamole wrap when I was there yesterday afternoon and it was out if this world fresh.
I did find the meal combo situation a little confusing. That didn’t seem to be too obvious on the menu board, but not a big deal. I was glad I went with that option, though. The ice cream dessert was delicious.
I will definitely be going back. This is now our go-​to spot to eat when we’re in Shipshewana.

Southwest Chicken quesadilla, smoked potato salad, and mint avalanche ice cream were all very good. Combo with all 3 and a drink was $ 8.99. Plenty of food. Hubby had chicken and bacon wrap, smoked potato salad, and malt amore Ice Cream. Everything was very good. Chicken in the wrap and the quesadilla was smoked just right.

I had a yummy southwest chicken quesadilla — filled with smoked chicken, black beans, corn, onions, cheese and a special sauce. I would order again.

Good stop for a quick bite. My cousin and I had a beef brisket sandwich with broccoli salad side. Very good chopped beef brisket with lot of flavor. Served on sourdough bread with a little too much butter but it was tasty nonetheless. It has a nice little area with nice tables and chairs. This is only the second day open so very pristine. I recommend for after the flea market for a good relaxing rest stop. They have ice cream as well.
