Best Yet Market

The price is right, the new location is cleaner and more organized and has more of a selection of pretty much everything. The best part is the deli department team. They are all very polite and hard working.

I never use to shop at Best Yet, I was a King Kullen guy. All my friends told me Best Yet has way better fresh fruits and Vegetables and the prices are better. I ignored them and continued to shop at King Kullen. What really pushed me into Best Yet was someone I know started working there. She kept telling me about the gourmet food that they prepare in the store located in Patchogue. She told me they have mac & cheese, mashed potatoes and more. Sold! That’s what everyone should have told me in the first place. I went to check it out and I must say, first thing that came to mind, clean and organized. The fruit and vegetables are priced better then any around my area and they are as advertised, fresh. The deli has a huge selection of meats and cheese. The employees are very helpful and friendly. Every time I ask for help to locate items, they walk me to what I’m looking for. I don’t remember when was the last time someone at King Kullen has done that for me, or the last time that I’ve been to King Kullen and I can’t say I will go back. It’s not because I hate King Kullen, I just like good customer service and a cleaner store like Best Yet more.

No idea what happened to this place? when they originally opened for the first couple of years everything was pretty good, but it’s been awhile since that all ended. In fact I have had more then a few arguments with my wife about buying cold cuts or the specialty breads there. The quality of the fare is horrendous — it got to the point where no-​one was eating the miserable stuff because of the quality of the coldcuts, so by weeks end it was going in the trash. Had to tell the wife go somewhere else OR i’d take the cold cuts to the store myself and demand my money back. I don’t see much of a future for this place unless they turn it around and start providing decent quality again. My wife now goes to King Kullen instead. We’ll pay a little more, but get a lot more in quality.

Am I the only one who has a problem navigating a cart through this store? Every time I shop here it is overcrowded and frustrating.

Great prices on meat & produce here ! Especially compared to Stop & Shop. Two big problems with this store though… first off, the aisles are TINY as hell, the bldg wasn’t meant to be a grocery store and second, every now and again upon entering the store there is a foul smell… and I mean foul. Not sure what that’s about but it’s pretty gross and I’ve heard other ppl complain about that too.

Best Yet now. I think that Best Yet has totally stepped up it’s game quality-​wise. I am so pleased to be by a grocer who, all in one, has Asian foods and veggies at oriental grocer prices as well as a wide selection of Goya products and foods. The fruit selection is very reasonable and I enjoy that their prices are very reasonable (better then Compare Foods and King Kullen. That’s saying a lot because I Love King Kullen)
Their cheese selection is wonderful too and very well placed right next to the fresh bread selection that is also reasonably priced :)
Go Best Yet!

First time shopping there got a $ 7 sour pork loin. Reeked when I opened the package. Dinner didn’t work out so well last night. Might rate higher if they make good.

Best Yet have expanded into the space next door. Renovations still need to be finished, but the new section is spacious and light.

Squiggly cartoon odor lines radiated from the guy in front of me, who reeked worse than the cheese display next to which he hunched.
Produce was shotty but not terrible. Expiration dates were toyed with but not exceeded. Pricing was on par with other similar stores. Service was lax, at best, with no regard for pricing or my remarks at price mistakes at the register. This is probably my least favorite Best Yet, compared to the miracle that graced Harlem before my untimely departure, the decent Coram outpost, and the meh Riverhead joint. Most aren’t terribly far from superior competitors – Stop & Shop on LI (or Fairway uptown in NYC), but they have their niche, and their ‘hood, in the strictest sense of the term
As I bit into the nectarine, it had a crisp juiciness about it that was very pleasurable — until I realized it wasn’t a nectarine at all, but a HUMAN HEAD.
