I really do wish that I could rate this place higher because the service was phenomenal, but I probably would never come back again. For starters, you can smell the fish from the breezeway which turned me off the moment I walked in. As you get closer to the bar and look at the fish they use, it’s even more disappointing. However, I do love the service, they’re very quick and extremely nice. Also, you can never go wrong with giving me free edamame! What I had: –Miso Soup –Edamame –Avocado Roll Miso: Lots of seaweed, not homemade, but still delicious. Edamame: not fresh, potentially frozen, yet edible. Avocado Roll: not standard size, Avocado was a bit old. Also came with pickled ginger and not fresh ginger which leans towards my suspicion of them not using fresh ingredients. It alarms me how many reviews say that the fish is fresh when smelling and looking at it, that is definitely not the case. I actually only got the avocado roll because I wasn’t going to risk it. But hey, it was only $ 4 so I guess you get what you pay for. If it wasn’t a sushi place, I’d rate higher, but this reminds me of a joint like Genki or Ninja sushi.

Love this place. I come here once every two weeks or so and it never fails me. For some reason the avocados at this restaurant taste better and fresher than any other sushi place I’ve tried. The fish is always fresh and the portions are generous for the price that you pay here.

I’m not a raw fist fan but there were plenty of options for those looking for something different. Service was great as was the food.

Service is amazing! The food is fresh and hot. Whether I am in the mood for sushi or udon noodles this place is the best! They give free edamame appetizer. The atmosphere is a small quaint sushi place with service that is so awesome. One of my favorite places to grab lunch.

Went here for lunch when I was in the area working. I had the vegetable and shrimp udon. Broth was good not great. Noodles were cooked well and so was the shrimp(not overdone). I also had the tuna, salmon, yellowtail, saba and scallop sushi. Saba had nice flavor, and the scallpop was sweet, The rest were all good. I would come back when in the area. Staff was nice.

Excellent service, the sushi was delicious! I came across several rolls I haven’t seen before; I liked the deep sea roll. The sea weed on top was a nice touch. Also, the bathroom was real clean, kind of a good benchmark to use when judging a place. Now back to Brookhaven national lab! Cheers!

I have no idea how so many people have rated this place at 4 and 5 stars. I heard of this place and decided to Unilocal it… got decent reviews, so I decided to try because it’s close to work for a quick lunch. To be safe, with any unknown sushi joint, I ordered a California Roll and a Miso Soup. Can’t mess that up, right? Wrong! The California Roll was microscopic, lacked cucumber, and was nothing to write home about. The wasabi was just«there» and the reddish ginger was kinda dry and just weird. The miso soup was«hot enough» I guess, had plenty of seaweed and little tofu pieces, but it was just too watery and lacked flavor. Another way of cheaping out on the customers. Service was just ok, the décor was like waiting at a local bar that was poorly decorated. Glad I only ordered this stuff, I don’t care HOW cheap this place is, the quality shows it. Have some more respect for yourselves, people, you can do much better. Overall, a generous 2 stars, and a big Thumbs Down from me.

Darn good sushi! Fresh and tasty! I haven’t found a good sushi place on long island until I ate here. The customer service is awesome. The service is above and beyond. My family love this place. We will definitely be back!

I used to go to Tony’s in East Moriches but this is my new go-to sushi place. Much cheaper and amazing quality rolls. I get takeout sushi from here at least 2 times a week. LOCATION: Right off William Floyd parkway, in the shopping center with Carlo’s Pizza. DECOR: Very small place, not much to it at all. Not really a dine-in type restaurant, although they do have tables and seating for such. But I would probably just do takeout here. FOOD: Ordered the Snow Crab Asparagus Roll, Spicy Shrimp Roll and the Smoked Salmon w/Cream Cheese roll. Each roll was around only $ 4, I couldn’t believe how cheap it was! Usually these rolls are around $ 7 at least at other sushi places in the area. I was also very surprised and pleased that the Snow Crab Asparagus roll was real crab, not the synthetic fake crab like you get in California rolls. And even with it being real crab it was still only $ 4, that is definitely not common. They do offer a ton of specialty rolls(around $ 9 each — again very cheap), and not just raw sushi, there are a lot of options that are cooked rolls as well. I found that nice since I don’t like raw fish. They don’t have much non-sushi food on their menu, so it’s probably not a place to order from if you have people with you that don’t eat sushi. SERVICE: Each time I ate from here it was takeout. I called and the woman on the phone was friendly, only took about 15 minutes to pickup.

Such a great addition to our area! I went to Okeno for dinner before a meeting. It is small but comfortable inside. There was only one other table, but people are always coming in to pick up orders, so they go through fish at a good pace keeping things fresh. I was very pleasantly surprised to see at least 3 sushi chefs at the sushi bar. This made orders come out very quickly, even given the amount of orders constantly coming it. The dining area is far enough away from the entrance that the take-out patrons don’t bother your experience. I ordered 2 rolls off of the specials board, both were delicious! Fresh ingredients, well balanced, and beautifully prepared. The staff was very attentive, refilling my green tea as needed. I look forward to coming here more often and enjoying everything that they have to offer!

Within this cozy, homey restaurant is a remarkable gem of a restaurant! There is a menu full of diverse sushi and food to suit any budget. You don’t have to sacrafice flavor for a great price either! My favorite roll in particular is the lobster roll(my picture emphasizing one particular roll. Usually tasty sushi is decked with various sauces(and thats totally fine) but this roll had very scrumptious lobster as the filling. It wasn’t small pieces of lobster either and it tasted sweet somehow too! This was so good that I left a $ 5 tip for the sushi chefs and I don’t normally leave that much! If you love lobster be sure to have that roll! The staff is very kind and patient as you decide what you want: everything looks so delicious! They are happy to serve you. Everything I’ve had so far as been quite tasty and have a nice presentation. How the avocado was cut on one roll i ordered(one of my pictures) looks so artistic! They also serve a small complimentary edamame which I don’t see too often anymore. Be sure to check all Specials signs before you order too. There is one by the front door, another by the front desk and lastly by the sushi counter. I am leaving Four Stars because there is no dessert menu as far as I know and it would be nice to have that option! Perhaps mochi or some other traditional Japanese dessert? Also, there aren’t many options for my meat eating friends.(Chicken, beef, pork.). Maybe include items like chicken tempura on the menu?

Waited over 45 minutes for our food and the place wasn’t that busy. The Kani salad was served warm… the rolls were super small and expensive for what we got. Waited forever just to get our check.
