Horrible experience!!! Walked in and got sat down immediately which was a plus but then waited around 10 – 15 min for a waitress to even come over and ask what we wanted to drink. We placed our orders and the food came out fairly quickly but about a ¼ into my food I found a very long hair in it so I quietly brought it to the waitress attention and she asked would you like something else. Me not wanting to send back food to get remade told her no don’t worry I just didn’t want it and shared food with my wife. When the bill came I was still charged for the meal that had the hair in it. I brought this up to the cashier and she went and got the manager for me. The manager had the nerve to say well ill charge you half of the meal since the hair would of only been roughly in half the food. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! I paid for my meal and left. I would never go back to this place out of principal!!! Way to many diners in this area that make basic eggs and toast to have to come here and be told «Pay for half. The hair was only in half the food». Very poor management!!!

I live less than mile from there and have been going there for 10 years, it has been recently overhauled and has nice appearance. They have great breakfast and lunches and waitresses friendly and service is quick and complete to your order. I haven’t had any good experience with dinners there. I ordered a teriyaki dish with chicken and mixed veggies that was so salty my blood pressure skyrocketed. I ate only half. And sent back, I believe it was purely soy sauce. I was surprised manager didn’t even come over to answer my dissatisfaction. That’s y I only gave 4 stars. I will only go for breakfast mostly and spend my evenings at another restaurant like Moriches bay diner

I was extremely hesitant to eat here, because I’d been told by other Long Islanders to avoid diners that didn’t have their own private parking lots. I was pleasantly surprised by how clean the place was and how friendly the staff was. The food was of good quality (also a big surprise) and the noise level wasn’t horrible. I’ll definitely be coming back.

Been there twice this year. This last time out of a combination of desperation and fatigue, it was getting late and there is no where else to go in Shirley but Applebees or fast food, Italian/​pizza, etc. We wanted something other. Surprise! It was actually good! They have renovated/​redecorated and must have fired the chef. This last time I had a tuna wrap on whole wheat that was very good. The tuna was not oversalted and w/​o mayo it was very tasty. Their fries are also very good. My fiancée had a breakfast despite the late hour. Her choice of omelet and hash browns also looked very good. She confirmed it was. So, nice work WFD, glad you’re back.

When I first set foot into this diner I fell in love with the great service they provided. My waitress was Gina. Gina talked and engaged me like a great waitress should. Every time I go in I see if she’s there because Gina never gets my order wrong; I can be picky at times, but I know that about me, anyway I’m getting off track. Gina is a great person and that’s why I go back. The food is good. They make better then expected diner food, compared to many other diners they are a step above. I eat a lot of food off there menu and I enjoy it. I wouldn’t ask them to change a thing.
What blew my mind was the recent renovation of the building. It looks great and it seems the food taste better. Maybe it’s just my imagination but I feel the look of a place helps sell the food too. But it must have cost a pretty penny to upgrade the place because the price of the food went up. I’m not surprised and it’s not a crazy increase but they need to turn a profit like anyone else. Also my last negative, they stopped selling Mountain Dew! I mean what goes better with a burger then a cold Mountain Dew?
The lady in charge looks so happy when I told her the place looks great, she was grateful for the compliment. I like how she was humble about it and said thank you like she meant it. It’s a wonderful diner on William Floyd and I will continue to go there, for the food and the conversation.

Had breakfast here. Walked in and was seated quickly. The waitress was at the table in less then a minute. The menu was clean and not sticky. The food arrived at the table in less then 10 minutes. The portion of food was plenty and there was always someone asking if you wanted a refill on your coffee not just the waitress who served us. We didn’t have to ask or wait. The cost per person was under $ 8.00. The person that sat us always let the waitress know that he was sitting someone. He even asked us if we wanted more coffee. The restaurant looks like it had recently been redone inside and out. It was very clean and well kept. The restaurant was very quiet. The tables were cleared as soon as the guest left the table. The lunch and dinner menu are $ 12.00 and up. I have not been to the restaurant for lunch or dinner. They also serve alcohol.

Turkey mashed an sting beans an carrots. Yummy. Always nice service. Great place. Also awesome breakfast

This place never disappoints! Great food, quick service even when they’re packed on a Sunday morning! The prices are great, you leave completely stuffed and still have money left in your pocket!

Came here for a quick brunch because it was nearby and I had a time limit to eat. Best decision! The only thing I would complain about is that when you walk in there is no «Welcome.», «How are you.», or anything like that. But the host seems nice nonetheless. She smiled and took us to a table quickly without a wait at all even though its a weekend.
Once we got seated withing 1 minute hour waitress came. Very nice but she seemed new, not too attentive like others I’ve had here. Still she got everything we asked for and it was quick.
I asked for 2 chicken pens all vodka but I swear they gave me the prosciutto one instead. That wasn’t chicken. Yet I didn’t complain and just ate it, it was still tastey. I’m not the type of customer too ask for to much or complain I usually am the type to keep quiet and just not go back if I had a bad experience.
The cappuccino was too sweet and not strong at all, tasted like warm milk and sugar! Its not fresh though the coffee and drinks come from instant machines you see in 7eleven.
Nonetheless it was overall nice quick experience. And the staff is overall friendly and pleasant!

Good diner without the flashy exterior décor. I’ve dined-​in and carried food from here, and everything usually turns out great. I mainly order the sandwiches and burgers: they are excellent. My only gripe is when ordering to pick up. They usually forget to put special requests in. ie. add fresh sliced onions for my burger… result, no onions. Sometimes they forget the russian dressing for a rueben. What’s a rueben with without russian dressing… a cornbeef sandwich with kraut and swiss cheese! So when you phone your in for pick up, check that everything is good.
So don’t let the plain exterior fool you; this is a good diner with a friendly staff.

Coffee was weak and tasteless, cappuccinos come with cream and sweet not strong either. The hot water for the tea was luke warm. At least the bagel was fresh. The service was young and inexperienced.

Good service, but the food is nothing special by any means. Had a burger and onion rings. The burger was just OK, but the onion rings were decent!

Never once a bad meal. Breakfast, lunch or dinner have always been good. The service is outstanding with friendly staff. The owners are almost always there making sure everything is running smooth.
It does not have an extensive menu, but typical diner fare.
You will not regret eating here if your in the area and want good food and service.

Your basic diner fare with a nice friendly staff. Willing to take special requests. Home fries are the best

The food was terrible. I waited just short of 15 min for water and the drink order. Waited almost 30 minutes for western omelet. Not one refill for coffee or water. Bacon cold. I’ll never be back.

I brought my granddaughter here for breakfast on a Saturday morning and we weren’t disappointed. We were greeted as soon as we came through the door. They were packed so we did wait about 10 minutes before we were seated. I ordered the veggie egg white omelet with home fries which was delicious. My granddaughter ordered pancakes and loved them. The waitress was very attentive to our needs and the food came out fairly quick. The only issue I had was that the rest room was in much need of attention, which was due in part because of how busy they were. Highly recommend.

Dont let the outside fool you. Good diner fare and friendly old school diner service.

This place hit my spot after leaving Fire Island. Tables available immediately, friendly servers, fast service, and the food was just as I wanted — a big omelet with home fries, toast and coffee. Huge bonus points for putting the butter on the toast. For some reasons, diners that I go to in the NYC boroughs won’t butter up the toast. Not only that, but the butter is always hard in those little packages and it rips up the toast. Come on oman. But William Floyd Diner, they do it just right.
No complaints about this spot if you are looking for a quick diner meal. Want to get crazy? Thy have the most well-​stocked bar I have ever seen in a diner. This place looks like it can get crazy at night and be a hot spot. I was impressed at the liquor/​beer selection.

OK so I haven’t had lunch/​dinner hear. But I have had breakfast here several times! Many times at night, which a colleague of my has appropriately dubbed brinner! (Not all pancakes are equal, these are top notch)
This is a simple diner in a strip mall, once a pancake cottage. The food is good and reasonably priced.? I just really like this place!
Nothing super special, but I have been to bad diners and this is NOT one of them. Newly refurbished, clean and cozy! I like the atmosphere in addition to good eats!
Update: had a dinner item the other night, I started with the burger deluxe. It was a good burger and the onion rings were awesome. Though when I crave a burger I don’t typically go to diners.
