This is an old school mom and pop establishment with cheap prices, good food, and great service. Situated in a nice small town, it’s a bit out of the way unless you’re passing through. We stopped here on out way to French Lick resort. The main downside of our dining experience were the flying bugs annoying us while we ate at the picnic tables. The food was good but seemed hit or miss. They had an absolutely terrible chocolate malt. It didn’t have nearly enough chocolate flavoring or malt powder. It was more like a vanilla shake than a chocolate malt. In fact, the chocolate flavoring was just dilute enough to make it unpalatable as either a chocolate or vanilla dish. My strawberry malt was okay but they forgot to add malt powder. The burgers were decent but didn’t make up lackluster desserts. I might give them a try again to see if we just came on a bad day.

Eh, my most recent experience here was not so great. The waitress was extremely slow, preferring to hang out with her waitress friends instead of helping us. Our food, the catfish sandwiches, was overseasoned and not very tasty. The fries were all end pieces of the potato — every single fry. And the bill seemed high for what is essentially fast food. It is a drive-in and that is pretty neat, but if you have small kids you won’t be eating in your car with them. We sat on the picnic tables instead, and with traffic roaring by the ambience was lacking.

Stopped here traveling through town and it was a great find. Great burgers(I loved the Big Boy), chicken breast sandwich and ice cream. The kids enjoyed their corn dog and chicken nuggets. Very friendly staff. Everything is freshly made. Their ice cream portions are huge! Mint chocolate chip flurry is a must!!! They even have food served to their car. Kids loved it Staff was so nice !!

I’m happy to find this place is still a bit frozen in time, in the best way possible. They have everything you’d expect from a classic burger and shake joint, plus some pretty good fried chicken. They even make pizza now. This place was a huge part of my childhood. My family goes way back in Shoals, and even though I grew up a few towns north of there, we were«down home» almost every weekend when I was growing up. I have many fond memories of cheeseburgers, fries, cherry coke, and milkshakes in styrofoam cups, served on a tray that hooks on the car window. Fun trivia — Most places like this had girls(car-hops) on roller skates back in the day, however Bo-Mac’s didn’t, mostly because the parking lot was gravel.

Perfect pit stop as you are driving down US50. Good food good service good prices. Menu has a ton of options. Burgers, tenderloins, catfish are all awesome and then they have all kinds of shakes and malts to go with them.

Every time I come back to Indiana it’s during the winter so I miss out on Bo-Mac’s incredible food. I have fond childhood memories of coming here for fried mushrooms and vanilla shakes. I remember sitting in the back of the car with all of my cousins fighting over who got the last mushroom or fry. Bo-Mac’s set the standard in my mind of how customer service should be, unfortunately the new rave of Sonics and other drive ups never match it.
