Found this place on Unilocal after my barber moved back to Korea (she cut my hair 10+ years)
Asked for Lily cause fellow Unilocalers have recommended her and they were right.
Polite, professional. Today was the second time she cut my hair and I think I may have found my new barber hope she will not move any time soon ;)

I have been going here for about 2 years and have had my hair cut by almost 10 different stylist in that time and every single time I come in they nail it! I’ve always found that that in most salons I’ve been too, I’m lucky to get a 1 or 2 who cut mens hair well but the talent in this place runs deep! Add on the fact that I am not really that good at explaining what I want and yet they find a way to give me what I was looking for. Yea, I wont be going anywhere else anytime soon and if your a guy out there wondering if you should give The Cut a try… you should!

They deserve less. Rude. Horrible hair cut. Talk shit in front of you in Viet. Please don’t go here. I’m not the type of person to write reviews or anything of that sort but this was just ridiculous place.

I have been going to this place for about 12 years (since they opened). The staff has always been courteous and accommodating, and you get that small town feel. It seems like most of the Shoreline population go there for their haircuts.
I am prior military and usually just get a medium fade to the sides and back, and trim/​short on top. I’ve gone to many other places in the Lakewood, JBLM, Seattle, North Seattle, Lynnwood, and Mountlake Terrace. None of them can beat the regular haircut price for men, and then add a hair wash with head and shoulder massage on top of that? You’ll end up with a $ 30 – 50 bill at most places.
Be sure to know what you want ahead of time. I have friends who actually bring pictures of the style they want as this greatly assists the stylists to have an objective image of what you want.
Notes:
— Each stylist has their own years of experience and skill sets.
— If unsure who to let cut your hair, just request Lily (the owner).
— In my opinion, they have lots of loyal families come for children and men’s haircuts because these types of cuts are consistently affordable and good.
— Yes, they talk a lot of Vietnamese. Because they ARE Vietnamese. It’ll be the same experience if you go to any ethnic/​culturally rich salon.
Lastly, there’s a Subway and Filipino food store next door to while you’re waiting.

Ok, this is my second review on Unilocal,my first was about another place for a haircut where I had a very, very, very bad experience X2 and would never go back, check out my review.
So, I have been searching for a place skilled in a basic high fade military haircut and I saw The Cut accross from Les Schwab when I was getting my tires rotated, so I took a chance and went in since my hair was way out of control and in need of a serious cut.
I was seen right away by I believe her name is Monica and I told her what I wanted and she went to work, I could tell right away she knew what she was doing and had the skill with the clippers. She kept on checking with me if it was what I wanted, which I really appreciated, I asked her to make the fade higher and she had no problem accomodating me and I even asked if she could shave the sides and back down to the skin and she was very happy to say sure what ever I wanted! Everything I asked for she had no problem doing and did the work with evident skills that I have been looking for. Monica absolutely knew how to trim the top of my head and fixed the weird curl in my bangs when my hair gets way too long. I can only speak for mens haircuts, I would recommend Monica, all you have to do is ask what you want and be specific in a haircut and she will accomodate you.
I finally found a place in Shoreline to get a haircut the way I want it! I willl see Monica again in 2 weeks for sure.

I got a pretty bad haircut here (the first «stylist» sat me down, grabbed a pair of scissors, and asked what I wanted. When I said I wanted a bob cut, she admitted she wasn’t a stylist at all, and was just going to trim my hair, but if I needed a real haircut I’d have to wait for the real stylist, NO KIDDING — THAT HAPPENED). Then the «real» stylist ended up doing a poor job, no technique at all — he didn’t know how to cut layers, so just didn’t do them…
Long and short — they may be OK for men’s hair but I wouldn’t trust them for ladies cuts…
Also, had the worst pedicure I’ve ever had. The technician didn’t know what she was doing, and basically painted my nails AND toes, it looked like a child did it…
My sister had it even worse, because her pedicure was atrocious AND her big toe became infected a few days later (her nails were cut crazy short, and we’re not convinced the spa was cleaned properly).
Never again!

May was great. Quick and responsive. No waiting, which was the best, even though there were several people being styled.

No one that used to cut my hair is there. They disappeared all at once for no reason? Maybe bad management. think twice before going here. If they can’t treat their workers right. they won’t treat you right.

I used to come here all the time when I was younger, but then I stopped because I found other places to get my eyebrow & lip wax/​hair done.
However out of convenience; I came back just to get a simple lip wax. DO NOT EVER get your wax done here. It was the most unprofessionally done, sloppy and rude service I have ever had. The whole time, i felt like I was in bad hands and scared/​completely unsure that the person doing the wax for me had past experience in what he was waxing on my face.
This experience was terrible. When I walked in, this man was eager to wax my lip. But what I didn’t know was that he did not know what he was doing the entire 10 minutes I was on the table. When you wax ones lip, you put a stroke of wax on one side and carefully, but quickly remove the paper. This man decided to not look at me as he waxed me, practically burned my lip and instead of plucking the other hairs off, he just kept adding wax onto my lip to remove the little hairs (and this was for both sides of my lip too). I’m not sure if this guy is lazy or just inexperienced, but he had a little attitude with me while I was laying down being worked on. It was a waste of my time and $ 4.50. I ended up going home with all this wax on my face because he didn’t bother removing the remainings off my lip and I had to pluck the rest of the hairs I saw in which he DID NOT GET after basically painting my lip on with wax. I love Lily, but I REALLY DISLIKE this worker. Worst waxing experience of my life!!!

Got my hair cut by one of the guys there last week, and I think it might be the worst haircut I’ve ever had. It’s a mess. I won’t be returning.

Ai is very good with haircuts, followed her from a few different places. I had my first wax at The Cut, she did a great job as well and very quick.

I have been a regular customer of The Cut since high school. The location is convenient and near my parents’ house.
My hair has definitely been through many drastic changes over the past couple of years. I always have my hair styled or trimmed by Lily, she is the owner. She is incredibly professional and accommodating. Lily is so friendly and I always feel at ease with her. Lily will go above and beyond to make sure you are taken care of. For instance, she came in on her day off just to give me a haircut since it was the only time I was available that week. Another time, she squeezed in an appointment for me by letting me come in early the day after Thanksgiving. Her customer service is great. The staff here is pretty skilled and they will cut your hair how you want it, you can even bring in a picture. Just make sure to be specific and clear about what you want.
I am extremely particular about my hair and i’s rare for me to find find a stylist who is able execute what I want. Lily always gets the job done and my hair looks great.
Usually, I would make an appointment since I request Lily but I know walk-​ins are welcome. This isn’t some high-​end salon like Gene Juarez but it’s nice, clean, professional, quality service, and prices are reasonable if not cheap.

This place is excellent. You never have to wait, if you do it’s not for long. Service is quick and efficient. Everything I want out of a place to get my haircut. They even washed my head and scalp for me! I would very much so recommend.

A simple guy like me needs a good haircut every once a month. This is the place I go because they always get me in whether I make an appointment or just show up during a break in my day. I have been going here for 4 years and now my dad and grandma even frequent this place because it’s conveniently located in our neighborhood.
I’m not fussy, I go in and tell my hairstylist I want a trim or whatever cut a celebrity has in a photo my girlfriend brings in whenever she comes with me to do her nails or get a haircut too. I like supporting local businesses when they offer a service that meets or exceeds industry standards. Their prices are extremely affordable especially when I need my hair trimmed every month.
Overall, they have friendly stylists and they great prices. They are also a lot more personable and friendly then the big chains like SuperCuts and HairMasters.

Ok. So back in April I was pretty unhappy. The owners recently apologized to me in person.
Last month I went in for a cut at the same time as my boys. Owners so pleased to see me again they treated me like royalty. I had highlights and a cut. Both turned-​out very nicely and I will be back there soon.
Note to owners/​managers: keep better track of your reservations and your customers will always be happy.

I was there a in January to get my mani and pedi done. I went there because I got a gift certificate of $ 50. So I got french tip for both mani and pedi, which was only $ 30. The whole process was really short. They were really fast. Since I couldn’t save the rest of my gift certificate for later, I decided to have them cleaned my brows as well. I specifically instructed them to maintain the shape, and not to thin them down. They followed the instructions and worked quickly. It took a little longer than 5 minutes.
Throughout my services, there were customers going in and out all the time. Some were clearly regulars. I think, that says something about the quality of this place.
The reason I give this place 3 stars instead of 4 or 5 is because there was nothing that stood out about this place. The quality of mani and pedi were good, nothing spectacular. In fact, nail polish showed some tiny cracks and chips, but I didn’t care much because I got them done for free.
Overall: ok quality mani and pedi, really cheap, far from Northgate by bus (took much longer on snow day)

Low prices = low quality.
As a guy I don’t care too much about how I get a haircut, but the last time I ever got a haircut there it was the worst experience I’ve ever had. I had a male stylist cut my hair and told him the lengths I wanted on the sides and the top and he did nothing of what I asked. My hair was uneven, and there were some places where he missed spots shaving. The service was quick, but the quality was disappointing.
I ended up buying a haircut kit and having been cutting my own hair ever since. It’s been a couple years since I’ve been to this place so it might’ve changed, but I’m not willing to spend my money to find out. For me, it’s not worth my $ 8 or $ 10.

Great place — fast. Great value! And you get a shoulder massage that’s better than not having one.
Stylists are likely to use electrical clippers on short hair — as expected in chains or lower-​end stylists. The «menu» pic with prices was taken in early Feb of 2011.
