Coming here was pretty easy, they have nice hours and it’s close to my house. I went in and filled out a form electronically which only took a couple minutes. I got frustrated when they tried to tell me they might not be able to treat me because my eyes were swollen because of my allergies. I DO NOT have allergies. My eyes were obviously swollen from the ooze coming from my eye.
Anyways, I had to pay before I was treated, and paid the flat rate for pink eye, $ 59, because I didn’t want to use my insurance. Then the girl from the front desk brought me to a room took my temperature and blood pressure, then the nurse practitioner came in to tell me the big news: I have pink eye. NO WAY! Thanks! I couldn’t tell myself with my pink fat eye lid, and my juicy eyeball. So I got my prescription for eye drops and left.
I guess this is a good alternative to the doctor for simple things like this if your insurance sucks (like mine). They do flu shots, acne treatments and physicals which I think is pretty cool, but as a broke post-​college grad, I still think it’s a bit of a rip off. Paying $ 59 for a high school kid to take my temp and blood pressure, and a nurse to tell me something I already know? No thank you. But sadly, I’ll probably end up coming back.
