I’ll honestly think about something over and over to the point that it’s the only thing on my mind for days… love the interior design this place had to offer… too bad some of there Furniture such as there sofas… looked old… out dated… and uncomfortable… upscale furniture stores… they give you a model homes feel to see various styles and how they are grouped… You need to learn about style foremost… What is good style and what is bad… If you live in a house its a nice house… but if you love in a beautifully decorated home it feels like this is your home… your comfort zone… You can learn all the technical stuff about textures… styles…function…layering… accessories… etc at this store… ask as many questions as you need… Keep notes if your interested in anything… Look at your notes and see how much your taste and knowledge has changed… pretty fun and a good way to get an idea of what you want in your own home!

If we had an unlimited budget and it was up to my fiancé, our new home would be furnished completely by RH. I do agree the furniture is stylish and comfortable. What gives me agita are the prices. Don’t get me wrong, they are quality items. Their staff is helpful but not stalker-ish. They give you space. If you have the money(like most people who shop at short hills) then you have no problem dropping several thousand on their products.

I love going in here when I am at the Short Hills Mall. I can always find something interesting to look at. The sales people are helpful but not obtrusive even if I buy nothing. They have such an interesting mix of items and some gourmet goodies once in a while.

The staff tries to be helpful, but many lack competence. Some don’t know their own products very well, others refer you to their website, and a few seem to be there against their will. Managers(or store leaders, as they seem to be called) have not followed through on or completed orders(despite taking my credit card number over the phone) and sales persons have told me the wrong details about leather color options. Having said all of this, there ARE sales people there who go the extra mile for you. Josh, one sales associate, spent hours with me on the phone sorting out details. He even put in multiple orders for me and tried to combine shipping delivery dates. Chelsea, a manager called me back multiple times when there were issues with my order. She sorted out delivery charges that were extra and honored sale prices that I had missed(by 1 day) due to processing errors. Given the choice of speaking with the online operators vs the in-store personnel, i prefer the in-store option. Sometimes a piece that you’re looking for is available as a deeply discounted floor model. Sometimes it’s helpful that the in-store folks can actually see and touch leather or fabric swatches before they opine on something. Lastly, it’s nice to be able to ask for a name and go in to speak with the person… in person. I’m told it’s helpful to the store as well(when an order is placed via the store as opposed to the via the 1 – 800 number).

My first purchase might be the last. I recently purchased the silk taffeta pavilion stripe curtains and was shocked by the quality. The silk didnt have that beautiful lustre like most I’ve seen and the cotton backing was SO paper thin that they laid like plain cotton drapes. Not to mention the horrible hooks they include that you are supposed to insert into the taffeta header at the risk of piercing the fabric. Quickly returned them.

From their catalog and afar, this place may look promising, but its quality is horrid. I purchased a 3-bulb bathroom vanity light with square glass shades. When I opened its box at home, one of the light holders was casted extremely askew and a bit twisted. I returned it for another, but encountered same problem. On my 3rd attempt, it had same problem plus bubbling on the surface, probably from when it was cast. On the 4th try, not all 3 lights were aligned well enough, but it was the least worst compared to the others. The type of mounting hardware provided was grossly insufficient for the weight of the light. The light needed extra bolstering to prevent it from leaning forward. Due to this experience, this establishment has lost my trust in all of its products. I do not recommend this store to anyone.

This chain survives on a former reputation of quality. I purchased curtain rods from this company only to see«Made in China» stamped on every piece of hardware. While the rods look nice, the overall quality leaves much to be desired. The screws supplied with the rods are of the absolute lowest quality and damage very easily upon installation. No matter what I tried, drill gun or manually screwing them into the walls, the metal/finishing layer on the screw heads are very soft and shred very easily. Next time I will go out and buy my own screws. As for the store itself, I found it dificult to get service and to actually purchase things. Overall this store is a pass: Made in China quality at high prices with medicore service. I will never buy from this chain again.
