Just stopped in for a chicken salad sandwich, walked by and saw it was open. Just sat down in my office 4 minutes away, and the chicken smell smells and tastes like dirty water! Like Shreveport non filtered water. It is horrible. I hope the coffees are better but this one is not a winner with my taste buds. Also, they use the tip jar to pay the cashiers street parking.(I watched her do it) Super classy.

I had visited 4J’s for coffee before, but today was the first time I’d eaten there. Can I just say, the smoked catfish poboy is one of the best sandwiches I’ve had in a very long time! At first, I was unsure. The waitress described it as being dressed with pickles, jalapeños, mayo and mustard. Not the typical kind of sandwich I’d go for. But, she won me over with her enthusiasm. I’m so glad she did! The flavors worked beautifully together. A very unusual, but delicious, sandwich. I ate every crumb. My friend got the tomato and basil soup and grilled cheese combo. She was also very pleased. If I had one suggestion for 4J’s, it would be to add fans/ventilation. It gets very hazy and stuffy inside, especially when they are using the grill.

The coffee was hot and not too overpriced but pricey compared to what I am used to in Phoenix. Give them a try I promise it is better then what your going to brew up in your hotel room, especially if you use the tap water…

The best service I have seen in a very long time. Food and drink were excellent. I will recommend to anyone that plans on eating in the downtown area.

Nice little coffee shop in downtown Shreveport. Guessing urban renewal passed Shreveport by, since there’s not a whole lot going on down town. I had a meeting nearby and wanted coffee and 4js’ was the only place that was walkable. That having been said it was excellent, they made a great latte and had a good selection of breakfast stuff. If I was in the area when they have poetry night, I’d stop in, sounds like it’d be fun. Coffee might seem a little pricy at first but the cups are huge.
