Becca’s Steaks and Seafood

Here on business, this place was suggested by the hotel and I could not be more pleased with the food or the service. Never miss a chance to try somethung new especially when in a new part of the country and trying stuff the region is known for. Our server, Denise could not have been more charming, helpful. And friendly if she wanted to. The food was to die for. Had a special with redfish, topped with shrimp and some other fish whose name I can’t recall and a wonderful sauce around it. Between that and the deep fried mushrooms, I was very impressed!

Overpriced. Disgusting. Dirty.
If you’re disabled, don’t even think about going here. The bathrooms are not accessible, let alone the rest of the restaurant.
I made the mistake of eating here while I was on vacation. The service was slow. I mean SLOW and I was one of the first people there. I ordered the gumbo, which never made it to my table and the steak was full of fat. I complained about this and the cook said that they don’t know how to cut the fat off the steak.
Um…seriously?! How do you NOT know how to cut fat off of a steak? The reason this is upsetting is because you buy the steak by the weight. The cook insisted that they ‘eye’ the steaks to see how much they weigh, since it’s apparently impossible to cut the fat off.
After the terrible service, the manager was of no help. She didn’t offer a discount, nor did she try to do anything to make the visit better.
I honestly have no idea how the hell this place has so many good ratings. The food is crap, the place is dirty, the service is atrocious and the manager is an idiot.
Take your money anywhere but here. Seriously, you’d get better food and service at McDonalds.

I stayed at a hotel nearby and stumbled on Becca’s almost by accident. The food was delicious. Seasoned well and flavorful. I steak and fried shrimp. The rebuked potato was good too. The house salad dressing, almost like a thousand island without the relish, was amazing!

The grilled catfish was excellent. It is a special catfish that the owner gets in from Arkansas raised in cold water ponds so there is hardly any algae that is consumed by the catfish when it is being raised hence no grassy market flavor in the meat.

I had the hamburger which was so large I had to eat it with a fork. Hamburger meat tasted great. I had to send it back for the lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and onions. That may be because I asked for mayonnaise and mustard on my hamburger and that was all that came with it. We also had an appetizer of onion rings. The rings had a very good taste to them and they are definitely not the ordinary onion rings. My bride had a shrimp po-​boy. She said the bread and shrimp were very good. We look forward to returning for another meal.

I went here for a late lunch and decided to try the crawfish etouffe. I visited this restaurant a few years back and it was really good. Not sure what happened but I’ll never be back.
The dish comes out and when she sets it down, I could not recognize what I ordered. The plate was filled with a yellow slimy gelatinous goo that nowhere resembled any roux based etouffe I’ve ever seen. There had to have been about 6 crawfish tails in the primordial ooze dripping from the plate. It’s offensive to the great foods of Louisiana to dare call this Cajun food.

The front desk agent of my hotel referred me to Beccas. I went in to get a to-​go order, the shrimp caught my eye and ordered a mix if sautéed and fried shrimp. As I enjoyed a beer at the bar for my order, the waitress said I «should have» ordered a burger. So I took her word and also ordered a burger. So once back to my room, I had enough food for three people but I started with the burger. Was not disappointed, the chef cooked it exactly medium like I like and the grilled onions we perfect. To sum this up, the burger was one of the best I’ve had and the shrimp was excellent.
Will make this a regular stop when in SHV.

Awesome blackened chicken! The perfect taste and tenderness. The staff (especially the waitress) were all very sweet and welcoming as well.

I went and ate at beccas and have to say that the food was great I ordered a cheeseburger and my husband ordered the snapper baratera which was by the way highly recommended by Kimberly… the service was great the food was awwsome. the boss was cooking and singing. Kimberly said she has worked there over a year and her boss treats them like family… we wanted wine and was told they lost liquor license and would hopefully be getting it back shortly… I would come back every time I come to shreveport just for the service and great entertainment… the girls that work there really makes you feel at home and I see the reason they will not leave even from lack of business… although they are hidden, kinda of tucked away! I will pass word on this great seafood, family, restaurant… if you get a chance go in and see Kimberly and if I remember correctly Rebecca… these girls are the real deal… and the food is so worth every penny…

Went to this place about two years ago, and thought it was very good. Went back last week, and it was lousy. We got the boiled shrimp, and it was exactly that. Shrimp boiled in water. Just plain old, small shrimp, boiled in plain old water. No seasoning. No crab boil. No flavor. I can’t believe this place is in Louisiana! I might expect bland, dinky shrimp in Idaho, but certainly not in Louisiana. The shrimp came with some gelatinous cocktail sauce that was in a small, plastic cup. If you turned the cup upside down, nothing would come out for at least three or four minutes. And then, it would all plop out in one big block. Pretty gross, if you ask me.
Sad to see the place go downhill. Oh, and they apparently lost their liquor license. That didn’t matter to me, but she said that was the main reason they weren’t selling boiled crawfish, because they lost their liquor license and couldn’t sell beer, I don’t really get that excuse, but whatever.

I highly recommend this place any time you are near it. It is one of my favorite Cajun restaurants in Louisiana. Every time I drive through Shreveport I make it a point to stop here. My favorite is the shrimp Po boy. I’ve also had the crabmeat au gratin which is different from every other Cajun restaurant that I’ve ever had it but it was also delicious. It was more like a gravy served on rice. I have recommended this place to other people who have eaten many other things on their menu and they say the food is outstanding. But I just can’t make myself order much other then the shrimp Po boy because it’s so good.

A horrible experience. The gumbo was very watery. Salad a la iceberg. Edible. Ordered grilled snapper came blackened. Undercooked. Sent back; oh and the baked potatoes were orange. Decided to not partake. The manager came to get our input and then charged full price. Very distasteful experience in all ways. Avoid at all costs.

Jessica was very helpful walking me through the menu and making suggestions since I was just passing through.
Seafood gumbo was full of cajan meat but a bit watery.
Stuffed shrimp was tasty and unique.
Wish I was in a group to try some different dishes.

I miss calling on GE Shreveport as I miss Becca’s…I spent four years traveling to GE SHV working with those fine folks, and we generally found our way to Becca’s for lunch. Never had a bad meal, the gator bites were excellent, the gumbo was awesome… I liked the fact the locals took me there and said this was a place we needed to try… as someone said, looks like nothing from the outside — a nondescript place in a strip mall, but delicious on the inside… I tried as much of their menu as I could over the four years and I never found something I didn’t like.

The Redfish Barataria is to die for. Service is great and it has a bar. What else do you need.

Becca’s doesn’t look like much on the outside, but once you step in… wonderful! There were four of us there… we all got something different and it was all good. I didn’t have one complaint about the service (waitress was great with us) or the food. Delicious!!! I thought the spices on it were just right… even my sis who doesn’t like hot food loved her crawfish etoufee. We will go back and eat there. I highly recommend this restaurant. Nice to know we have a good place to eat on the west side of town.

Out of crackers for the gumbo. Said they make SAMs runs on Mondays and wouldn’t go early. We got the fried seafood platter. Not bad but nothing special. Enough for 2 of us. The stuffed crab and stuffed shrimp tasted like it was frozen.

1^st time in Louisiana and found this place by accident. We all tried the red beans & rice, chicken & sausage gumbo, the 1 lb. hamburger, and the shrimp platter. The sautéed shrimp rocked as well as the bbq shrimp. Gumbo was great too. Small but comfortable place seems like a hole in the wall place with great customer service. It is a little pricey but it was tasty!

Was ok. Expected a little more for the $$.
Red beans and rice were good; shrimp salad — just ok.
May try again for dinner next time I’m in Shreveport.

Though the restaurant was recommended to me for great steaks and Louisiana cooking, I read on the front window OMG burgers and my interest was sparked.
As a burger lover, I was interested in seeing if the burger could back up the bold claim.
I ordered the cheeseburger with sautéed onions and mushrooms, and was pleased to find the the buger lived up to the claim. The burger was juicy, tasty, and all the ingredients complemented each other perfectly.
I have been to many distinguished burger restaurants and would put this burger ahead of all of them.
I recommend Becca’s to all burger lovers in the Shreveport area.
