An interesting place. Nice and air conditioned. On a hot day, it is nice to peruse the aisles and look for a hands-on activity, to occupy more of your time, also indoors in the air conditioning. They have unique models from movies and tv shows: The Ghostbusters ambulance, Back To The Future Delorean, Daisy Duke’s(Owwwww!) Jeep from the Dukes of Hazzard, etc, etc. They also have more traditional models: Blue Angels planes, battleships, various automobiles. They also have large, remote control airplanes for purchase and box kits for the Cub Scouts Pinewood Derby(Pffft! When I was in third grade I remember building my own Pinewood Derby car in my friend’s garage with his Dad’s power saw! Aaaaaah. To be a kid in the 70’s and 80’s! And kids today wear helmets if they ride bicycles and that’s a BIGIF these days!) Anywhoo. This shop is definitely more Hobby than Lobby. It’s more traditional and reminiscent of what you would actually expect a hobby shop to look like, and maybe even smell like? Is it airplane glue and plastic? Don’t know, but you’ll know it when you smell it. The even have a small area for gaming, like Dungeons and Dragons-type stuff. It also appears like they have a large area in back for people to construct and build their own purchases on site, which is nice, so your wife isn’t getting on to you because your Battlestar Galactica Cylon Raider space ship is drying on the kitchen table and the whole house smells like airplane glue and plastic. Just sayin’. This new store is located off of Youree Drive, in the same shopping center as Sumo Chinese Buffet, Dollar Tree and Guitar Center.
