This place is awesome! Open kitchen style dining area and the best Italian food around!

If you are looking for a true Italian meal that has not been overly Americanized this is the place to go. Having traveled all over the world I have got to say this place is perfect. Huge dining area with great acoustics. Great meeting rooms for big parties, the bar? Well let’s just say there is a reason they have filmed movies in the bar area. It’s great! The food is priced well, I would even be willing to pay more. Now if you want to come here and expect it be like Italian chain restaurants you will not enjoy it and will probably leave hungry. But if you appreciate great service, great wine, a real Italian or Sicilian meal you will be coming back. I wish I could there more often. I highly recommend the truffle risotto and take a look at the wine list and specials. The fish specials are truly amazing with great robust flavors

OMG … I finally found a really good restaurant in Shreveport. My dish was excellent. I had the rockfish topped with shrimp with the vegetable medley, it was so tasty… And I had a side salad with mixed greens and romaine, corn and lightly crispy potatoes with a cream sweetie dressing. So good. I will try and make it back here before I leave home to Atlanta. Definitely 5 star meal for me

Chicken parm was not traditional, breast filet was not fried or battered. Sauce was near raw and far too acidic. Steak was over cooked and accompanying potatoes were undercooked. Ambience was awful, far too loud for good conversation.

I’m really torn on how many stars to give this restaurant. If I had reviewed it the 1st time I went, it would have been 5 stars. The big issue is the quality of service received. I’ve had some of the best service ever and some of the worst, depends a lot on the server you get. The food is a bit hit and miss sometimes too. It can be great and more times than not, it is. For example, I love love love their Grand Marnier Soufflés but once(quite a while back) our table ordered 5 of them and nobody could eat them as they were burnt on the outside and raw inside. When we complained to our server(who was definitely their worst, sour and completely unhelpful about anything including drink refills) about them, he commented that their regular chef that makes them was out and the chef making them hadn’t yet got them down right… sorry. Did he offer to take them off of our bill? Nope, $ 60 we paid for inedible soufflé. We have enjoyed most of the menu items we have ordered but a few items were not to our liking but that depends a lot on personal preferences.

It’s good and it’s a fun dinner spot, but call me a food snob because I don’t think it’s as great as everyone around here says it is. Good dining and a nice atmosphere. The bar is fun and has a lot of wine choices but I wasn’t impressed with the food menu overall.

Excellent food, good service. Sometimes bread isn’t so good(too hard to chew) but other than that, very nice.

Eaten here a few times now — and, in general, it’s been good. The salmon rigoletto is really nice. Big serving with a nice light caper lemon sauce. I have had some of the other fish specials that were all good as well(pricey though). Where I believe there is room for improvement is with their traditional Italian fare. I agree with others that the tomato sauce used on the pasta is bland and forgettable. My pasta has always been properly cooked(al dente) however. I was also disappointed with the risotto — bland and/or poorly seasoned. Nice atmosphere with a big open kitchen is a plus for me. I enjoy watching the chefs in action — open kitchens are pretty rare. It’s definitely going to remain on my list for special occasions, out of towners, etc.

For me this is the best option in Shreveport. Food is excellence. I always had a good surprise. Wine and cheese are important for me as a French native and they got a large choice and good advices. This is the only place really where I have eaten good cheeses, REAL cheeses. And believe, I have been looking. Service is good. Manager is really nice. You can go as a couple or with a larger group. Decoration is nice. You should make a reservation on week end evenings but if you have to wait, the bar is a good option. Sometimes they even have a live band playing. I love Giuseppe !

The food here was really tasty. I gave only 3 stars due to the poor service. We had a large party, but it was a Wednesday night and not very crowded. Everyone’s food came out at different times, and a couple orders were mixed up. my husband and I ordered the cheese and salami board for $ 25, and there were only a couple of bites on it. It was pretty disappointing for the price. I think we will go back and try again because the food was good. I especially liked my tenderloin steak and homemade fettuccine Alfredo! Hopefully the service will be better next time.

I honestly don’t see what the hype is, but the wait staff is amazing. It must be an atmosphere thing. Five stars for the wait staff, but three for the food… I just don’t get it.

A European dining experience here in Shreveport. Well prepared food in a classic setting. All of the food is freshly prepared.

Had real high hopes for this place… First and foremost, they had plenty of waiters and waitresses but the service took foreverrrrrr. so thumbs down in that department. For starters, the salads were ok, between us we had the Warm Spinach Salad and the Insalata Mista salads, the spinach salad was a joke, take it back and off the menu please. The Mista was very good though. Dinner was the Mushroom Risotto with chicken and an order of the Pappardelle Campagnolo. The Risotto lacked flavor and salt; very bland. The Campagnolo pasta was very good and fresh, however, the chicken again lacked flavor. it was just boiled dull white chicken. Was looking forward to dessert but the AC was broken and we could not wait to leave. Of all the dishes we tried tonight, I don’t think we will be going back anytime soon unless some serious changes take place.

I dine at Giuseppe frequently, in the dining room as well as the patio. Service is always excellent, as the servers are knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. The food is beautifully presented, fresh and delicious. I have yet to be disappointed, even in large lunch meetings. The décor and atmosphere work well for events, and private dining. Overall, one of my favorite spots. The family owned flavor is evident, they take pride in this establishment and also in the community they serve.

I enjoy Italian food as does my fiancée. So when we made a reservation for Ristorante Giuseppe we were very excited to see what all the buzz was about. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. I had ordered chicken parmigiana which, in my estimation, is a fundamental Italian dish like spaghetti or ravioli. If you can’t get that right then your more elaborate dishes will more than likely be flops.(I’m no expert in Italian cuisine but I make it a habit of trying out different Italian restaurants’ chicken parmigiana to compare.) When the chicken parmigiana first arrived at the table I noticed that the sauce had a certain orange tint to it. Initially it smelled very similar to Frank’s Red Hot sauce but when I took a bite of pasta with sauce I knew exactly what it reminded me of: the Chef Boyardee I used to eat when I was eight years old.(I think I saw where another reviewer thought the same thing of another dish.) Furthermore, the pasta itself was not completely cooked and while I don’t recall the menu saying the pasta was going to be served al dente it is possible I missed it. Finally, the chicken itself was salty and coupled with the sauce it was simply not a pleasant experience. My fiancée had the crab stuffed quail and while the quail meat was delicious it was not plentiful. The crab stuffing overpowered the dish and was not very good. It too was a disappointment. The atmosphere was wonderful. It was dimly lit but not so dark that you couldn’t see anything. The service was slow, though, and it took forever for our server to get our food order. I doubt we will be returning to this establishment. There simply wasn’t enough to redeem the poor food. After all, that IS what you pay for.

This is a case of getting almost everything right. The restaurant itself is large, but the individual rooms give it a warmer, more close-knit feel. The colors and décor are modern while still hinting at the Italian feel that the food reflects. White linens, dazzling place settings and well-appointed furniture are all around, giving the whole place a very classy look. Lighting is low and intimate and encourages you to speak freely and openly as though you were at an family dinner. Service was excellent! The servers moved in and out of our private room with the quickness and purpose of one turning music for a master pianist. They were never obtrusive, but provided excellent recommendations when asked. So why 3 stars? The food simply lacks something that would justify its price point. In particular, the bolognese sauce on my macaroni with sausage and(virtually no) peppers lacked depth of flavor. Rather than tasting like a rustic, Italian home made sauce, it smacked of canning and the shallow, sweet flavor of another Italian chef named Boyardee. The house salad and gelato were good, but not memorable.

Nice, big and modern setting here for Italian. The patio dining is also nice to have in good weather. Happy hour lasts til about 7pm, and drinks are knocked off about 40%. The food is good here — our party had servings of lamb medallions($ 27), veal scallopini piccata($ 22), and smoked salmon($ 14 large appetizer size). Portions are slightly small though for the price, and service was friendly albeit a bit slow but that was all fine for the leisurely social outing we had. Will likely be back sometime.

I give place 2 stars for the service &4 starts for the food, which averages it out to a 3 star total. We get there and the bar is packed! Must be a good sign. This place is super fancy inside and has outside seating, in which I believe you can choose to eat and dine, but I glanced and didn’t stare so I’m not sure if anyone was actually dining. A friend and I ate here for dinner. We were greeted and seated promptly. In about 5 minutes, a man served us with some bread and butter. Just plain olé’ bread and butter. Nothing special. We sit around chit chatting, and then, we realized how slow service was. It took a while(about another 10 minutes) for the waitress to ask us what we wanted to drink. Thank God we were catching up and conversing or it would have seemed longer. Then, it takes another 10 minutes for her to bring us the drinks. We look around and the room wasn’t even 1⁄3 full(however, it was a fairly large room and there were about 25 – 30 people dining(there were other rooms too so there were much more). Apparently there was not enough staff to cover the areas. Anyway, we both started out with a glass of wine each. I had glass of cabernet sauvignon and she had a glass of chianti. Both were good. When she brought it out, we wanted to order, thinking she wouldn’t return again for another 10 – 15 minutes. What we ordered: The meat and cheese plate(you can choose 1 selection for $ 8, 3 selections for $ 15 or 5 selections for $ 20) and we chose the option with 5 selections: 3 meats and 2 cheeses. I forgot exactly what we ordered… but I know the Robiola cheese(similar to a brie) was scrumptious!!! Everything we ordered on this plate was so good! We had the prosciutto, some type of dried beef, and a type of cured pork. The other cheese we ordered was similar to parmesan. It also came with calamata olives, some type of very sweet marmalade and hummus. Very good charcuterie IMO. My friend also ordered the risoto entrée which was full of flavor! You can smell the truffle oil as the waiter set the plate in front of her. It was also very delicious!!! I would go back, if I didn’t dread the service so much.

Came for a wedding party and knew I had to lower my expectations a little since we were no longer in California. We started up with a salad that had polenta croutons. Those were my favorite part of the meal. If you look at the pictures you can see my beef tips which looked like a pile of poop on top of mashed potatoes. The presentation on the chicken and lasagna that were available were pretty bad too. I don’t think anybody at the table had ever seen capers before and were talking about how it looked like chicken pellets. The food would appear so much better if they just worked on making it look prettier! The almond tart we got at the end of the meal was so so so good. A little sweet and nobody was able to finish it but great none the less. The company made the night full of memories but I wouldn’t come back if I were in Louisiana again.
