For my wedding my sister booked a party in the back room for my bridesmaids, family, and me. So with that being said it was a horrible experience they were so disorganized! more than one of my friends sat in a chair for over an hour without being helped at all! Another friend tried to come in and take over another’s appointment who could not make it but they basically kicked her out! Even after all of that, that was not even the worst of it, one of the girls who could not make it, and as i mentioned earlier we tried to get her appointment covered, they told us we had to pay for the appointment even though no one came! So ANGRY! Will NEVER go back to the one on Ashley Ridge and I recommend you dont either!

I went in at 37.5 weeks pregnant to get a prenatal massage and pedicure. The massage was amazing! I was completely relaxed but that quickly changed once I went to get my nails done. The lady kept clipping my cuticles and wasn’t very gentle with the clippers. She stabbed me a couple of times and dug really deep with the tool used to get under the nails. She was too focused on her conversation with her coworker. I was tense the whole time, which made my hour massage kind of pointless. Once I got home, my husband wanted to see my feet. He noticed that the paint wasn’t even covering my whole toenail on multiple toes! Being this pregnant, I’m not able to see my toes up close, so he took a picture to show me. I definitely wouldn’t recommend them for their nail salon.

Update: the natural toenail that my nail tech haphazardly filed-where she hurt me-just flaked almost all the way off, which is awesome seeing as we’re going on a beach vacation tomorrow. Y’all have been warned.

I went in for a much needed massage and facial. A few minutes after my massage started I heard a really loud squeaky noise coming from the air vent. It sounded like a hamster running on a squeaky wheel. I tried to ignore it but it was louder than the music. I really needed a relaxing massage after 14 hours in the car the day before. The sound stopped but when the air kicked back on a few minutes later it started again. I asked the therapist about it and she said«I don’t know why they put us in here. It’s loud and not as nice as the massage side.» I guess since I was getting a facial too they put me on the facial side for both of my services. She said that they knew the noise happened and usually only used that room for body treatments or if they were completely booked. I asked if they were busy and she said no. It happened 4 times and totally ruined the wonderful massage she was giving me. She was very nice and even had me moved to a different room for my facial. The massage was great, I just wish I could have enjoyed it. The facial was pretty good. I had to pay an extra $ 20 for exfoliation! When I left I found product behind my ear and in my hair. I would go back for both facial and massage if I were guaranteed that I wouldn’t be in that noisy room! When I left I told the front desk about it(even though they didn’t ask how my services were). They all said they didn’t know about the noise and one guy said he would check it out but, nobody apologized. Oh well.

My five stars goes to the senior stylist Ric. I am very particular my hair because I do not like messing with it. It gets the brush at the start of the day and a wash a few times a week. Anything more and I forget about it. The cut must be just so or my hair betrays my lazy ways. See my profile for photos. Before Ric I had been with the same Aveda stylist for 15 years. Then I moved across country. I dreaded the process of finding a new salon. It had not been going well. Then I got a cut last summer best described as Sensible Mom Mullet. It was cute for a few days. Then it stopped being cute. I was despondent. It seemed as if Sensible Mom Mullet would never grow out. No stylist seemed to understand my hair. No one could cut it the way my old stylist had. Then I met Ric! He coaxed my hair into a look I could live with while waiting for the end of the Sensible Mom Mullet. I even got color for the first time, confident that he had concealed all traces of Mullet. I have really come to recognize the extent of his skills. Between January and June I followed faithfully my «do nothing» regimen. Even as my hair grew out it still looked great, as if I had just left the salon. Ric’s technique is so precise and full of imagination that my hair grew back into its old style. By imagination, I mean that Ric anticipated how it would look and cut accordingly. That is the mark of true talent, for he did it without really knowing what I looked like pre-Mullet. I could not be happier. If you have wavy hair or want something particular, see Ric. He must certainly be one of the best stylists in the city. — Glancing at the reviews down the side here on Unilocal,I disagree with the criticisms of the service at this salon. I have been to several Aveda salons since I returned to the states 15 years ago(on the East Coast and in Texas). The service at Ashley Ridge is in line with any Aveda salon. In fact, it is in line with any high-volume salon. Aveda to me signifies quality of the products and the skill of the stylists. Maybe others expect pampering because the salon is called«Spa» Concepts.

Extremely dissatisfied with the nail services I received. The technician was rushed and did an extremely sloppy job. I called and expressed my concerns only to get the run around; I spoke with Kim, who I’m told is the owner, and got nothing but an argument. Horrible customer service!

I am very displeased with my experience here. I asked the stylist to keep my hair as long as possible and he cut it extremely short. When I told him this(politely) afterwards, he did not even apologize. He obviously cut it how he thought it would look best, rather than doing what I had asked for. Also, I agree with the comment below that the customer service is lacking for an Aveda salon. They didn’t even offer me water when I was waiting. I certainly will not return.

For an Aveda salon, the customer service is lacking. Went in for just hair color and highlights. Color was decent, price was reasonable. Probably won’t be back though.
