I have never been in this Subway before, but I went into this location, when I had an all-day meeting for work in the area. I have seen this location for years, going to baseball games, for doughnuts across the street at THE Southern Maid(kinda like THE Ohio State University-but they suck, and the doughnuts on Hearne definitely do NOT!) Anyway, never given this location much thought, but due to time constraints on a lunch break and armed with a Subway gift card, I hit up this locale. Upon entering, at the very beginning of 11 am, I was very surprised how big and spacious this particular Subway is, how clean it is, and how very busy it actually was at this hour on a Friday. Even though the State Fair is in full effect, I think it was having very little effect on the business. It seems most the business was coming from workers in the area, from the hospitals, skilled-blue-collar-type workers, myself, etc. Heck, I guess with limited options and a limited budget, you can do no worse than something familiar and somewhat healthy, like Subway. What was surprising also, was how wiped-out all of their toppings options seemed to be at such an early lunch hour, but I did see that they had just prepared 4HUGE sandwich platters for 2 ladies with hospital id badges, who were picking those platters up as I was paying for my 5 dolla footlong(that dang song!). The Subway workers, though seemingly undermanned, were friendly, clean and efficient, even as they were swamped at such an early hour on a Friday! This Subway is as good as any Subway to which I have ever been and it definitely, obviously serves a much-needed purpose for all the hard, weekly, daytime workers of this area.
