Always very clean. Staff is usually extremely nice and considerate. Recent cashier, Floyd, was very polite and bagged everything delicately. The bathrooms are usually clean. Wide range of produce. Not 80% rotten like other super 1s. They actually check their stuff. The deli workers attentive.

Jesus I don’t know what happened to this place. The prices are sky high, product availability is limited at best, and the fresh poultry is somewhat gross. In addition, when I’m checking out, I really don’t care to see a song a dance routine as the person with the ABO card slowly dances/shuffles to the register. Nor do I care to hear the token sassy gay man singing«I’m in love with a stripper.» I swear I do not know what is happening with at LEAST the pretense of professionalism in this town.

I don’t know many people that would get excited and then jealous over a grocery store, but apparently I am one of those people. I stopped in to check this place out because I had forgotten some of my fruit from home. Now I am a little pissed we don’t have one of these grocery stores here in Birmingham. It really isn’t fair. This place is like a baby Costco without the membership fee and a Publix/Winn Dixie all rolled into one. Huge grocery store. At least, huge for me. The produce section is nice and I found some banana leaves. I immediately started thinking of things I could steam with banana leaves. I didn’t get any because I was going to be in town for a few more days, but now I am starting to wonder if I can find those here at an Asian market. The packed meat section, a meat lovers dream. They have single packages and boxes of lots of different meats. I saw lots of large single packages of chicken wings for like 2 bucks only. Anyway, I won’t ramble on, but if I lived in that particular area of Shreveport, this would definitely be my grocery store.

Ahhhh, the holidays are upon us and for me that means Blue Bell ice cream special holiday editions! I just freebased a whole half gallon of Spiced Pumpkin Pecan, and I still got another to go! As well as two half gallons of Peppermint(which I douse with chocolate syrup!) and a half gallon of Christmas Cookie ice cream. They are on sale at S1 for $ 4.47 for all Blue Bell half gallons! I LOVE the seasonal flavors! If cars could be fueled by ice cream, mine would run solely on Pumpkin Spice and Peppermint this time of year! It is on like Donkey Kong!(The pounds, that is… they are on!) But it just tastes sooo good! As I said in my previous review here on Unilocal, this is a great place to shop this time of year for all of your holiday foodie needs.

Always a fun shopping trip, be sure and stop and at least say hi to the Deli folks. This place is more like a local store than one of the big chain conglomerates and always fast to open more registers when lines start forming. Not sure if it is a matter of timing but the produce is not the freshest and the meats seem expensive for the cuts available. Like all grocery stores be sure to keep an eye on expiration dates.
