Best hibachi place ever. This place is very clean and consistently good! I’m never disappointed when I come here. Their yum yum sauce is the best ever!!!

I would like people to know that when Tokyo first opened it was rated the best Asian Restaurant in Shreveport/Bossier. Also winning an award from the mayor for Best Landscape for a business. For the first 3 years I managed this place as the high end environment that it was supposed to be. Service was exceptional! So good that I was visited by celebrities, Ashton and Demi were on that list. Unfortunately when the Owner and his wife wanted to change the quality to lower grade and charge more, I simply refused. After developing everything for them, including Tokyo labeled wine, bottling ginger dressing, and working 14 hours a day, they didn’t care! So to sum this up! You are getting small Chinese takeout quality for outrageous prices and the worst service. I could not in my right mind see this happen so I walked out. After reading reviews it has only gotten worse. And what you don’t know is the tips you give the servers are distributed to the whole restaurant. Example, give your waitress $ 10. She may keep $ 2 of it. I would give 5 stars along time ago, now no stars!!!

The food is good, but I have never experienced such a lackluster hibachi performance in my life. In fact, there’s no way I can call it a «show. «70 dollars for two people getting chicken, and no alcohol, to be treated rudely and rushed out? No thanks. Won’t go back.

Food is decent, some of the better sushi in town… but that’s not saying much sadly. A spark of creativity would really do them well. It’s a little dated inside, needs some TLC. The check was a little hefty — but not as bad as others in town where they’re gutting the customer’s wallet to make sushi from it. It’s a reasonable choice in sushi. The«grill» was lackluster when I had it, but by no means was it bad. Earns a better than some, worse than others rating from me.

Miso soup tasted like a new appliance smells the first time you heat it without washing. We sent it back to the kitchen. The manager did nothing. The sushi had too much rice and the décor was dated. And not in a cute way. I guess the locals have good memories from here 30 years ago. I say try Hana instead.

Typical Hibachi with a Grill Chef doing cooking presentation right in front of their patrons! Perhaps a little overpriced! The food was tasty and plenty. We had to take«doggy bags» home! We were already stuffed with the soup, salad & fried rice that we had up front! The service was good! I would certainly visit again!

I really love this place and ITSAFFORDABLE. Whenever I am craving some Japanese food and on a budget this is always my first choice. The wait is never too long but they could have picked a better location(they are hidden behind the auto mall.) I have to say I am atleast here once a month and I always enjoy my visit and my husband loves the entertainment too.

I was SO disappointed in Tokyo. We were in the mood for Japanese and sushi and everyone told us to go to Tokyo and that it was the BEST in town… WRONG! Our service was awful. Our sushi was awful. And our meal was awful. We were extremely disappointed and will not be going back. It was so NOT worth the almost $ 100 that we shelled out for that dinner.

Sushi Ballers living in Shreveport! I was passing through Shreveport and decided to visit a friend and get some food. I was craving for sushi so I hit up Unilocal to see what’s good. Tokyo came up with good reviews so I checked out the menu and was like dam, Shreveport has some ballers living here for Tokyo to be charging those prices. I don’t mind paying money for good food so I gave it a try and ordered a bunch of things to-go. I got the spicy tuna salad which was $ 12.95. Like really? $ 13 for a small pile of lettuce, cucumbers, and maybe $ 3 worth of tuna drenched in a vinegary spicy sauce? And when I mean drenched, I mean it was like lettuce drowning in a red pool of spicy vinegar. Lettuce and cucumbers were completely soggy and even though the tuna tasted fresh, the spicy vinegar dressing was just too overbearing. I also ordered the«Heart Attack» and«911» special rolls. Both were just meh. The Heart Attack roll consisted of spicy tuna, jalapeño, cream cheese, deep fried, mayo sauce & eel sauce. I like spicy foods, but I don’t like it to mask the whole flavor of the dish. All I tasted from this was the jalapeño and cream cheese. The 911 roll consisted of spicy crab, cucumber, topped with tuna, jalapeños, spicy garlic, hot sauce, spicy mayo. This was a little better than the heart attack roll, but then again, the jalapeño takes over. This roll tasted better without the jalapeño. We also ordered an Octopus salad and a few normal rolls and it was just okay. Our bill came out to like $ 75 for a couple of mediocre salads and rolls. I’m not sure where all these Unilocalers had sushi, but I’ve had sushi from all kinds of places and I was disappointed here! Maybe I just ordered the wrong things, but I won’t be back to try anything else.

I’ve got a few more sushi places to try still but Tokyo is pretty easily my favorite sushi place in town so far! I went here for lunch after trying to go on saturday for lunch at which point I found out they are not open on saturdays for lunch, still kinda bummed about that but oh well what can you do. It was fathers day today so the place filled up pretty quickly right when it opened. I knew it was bound to be a good place to eat when it opens at 12 and has a line waiting before they even start seating. Much better than crickets chirping… Lets see… where to start here. Tokyo sits on a sorta out of the way street and if you weren’t going there and knew where you were going it’s not really a place you are going to just randomly drive by and stop. With that said it’s a great location, plenty of parking and it has a really cool fish pond out front with some water falls and the like. This makes me happy already because I place a good portion of whether I like a place based on things like location, the actual building, the décor etc. For some reason I think that if i’m going to go out to eat I’m spending my money on more than just food, I want to be entertained a little bit, I want to get an experience I can’t get at home because after all I can probably cook most of the stuff i buy in restaurants. Anyways, what i’m saying is I like the place. On to the food… I started with Miso soup and fried Gyoza. Pretty much the norm for me. Normally I wouldn’t comment on Miso soup cause it’s pretty simple but for some reason the Miso here is really good, fantastic flavor. It doesn’t have seaweed in it like most places which I thought was odd but the flavor of the broth was awesome so I really didn’t care. The fried Gyoza was also great… by far the best i’ve had in town and probably anywhere for that matter, it was good stuff. After that I got the LSU roll. For whatever reason I had a craving for cream cheese in my roll today and was having trouble finding one with cream cheese that wasn’t deep fried. The LSU roll was a special for the day and I almost didn’t see it until I looked over to the sushi bar, normally I would hope the wait staff would point that kind of thing out but no harm no foul. The roll had a spicy tuna inside with cream cheese and something else topped with white tuna and shrimp with some spicy mayo something or other and hot sauce. It definately had a kick to it and I was glad I got it. Other than that everything else was perfectly fine. My waitress was patient and did a great job recomending a few rolls that i’m sure i’ll try next time i’m back. I have a feeling that Tokyo is probably a pretty cool place to come on a friday or saturday evening before you go out so i’ll have to come back then too.

Good but a little salty. Presentation was an A+. Alex was our chef and he’s ready for the big time.

Tokyo is the best sushi in Shreveport. You might have to pay a bit extra compare to other sushi restaurants, but this place is absolutely worth it. The service staff is friendly, their is little wait time, and even the take out presentation is good. Try the Louisiana roll, its my absolute favorite.

I really miss being able to go to Tokyo whenever I wanted… It’s basically you’re standard hibachi style resturaunt but better! Fantastic sushi rolls and my favorite part… They are happy to sell you that amazing ginger salad dressing to take home!
