Shrewsbury True Value Plus

BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE. I was a very frequent customer but never again. I try and support locally owned businesses. I took a stihl weed trimmer to have them take a look at it. I was told it was a $ 45 fee to look at it and if I wanted to have the work done it would be applied to the cost. About a week and a half goes by and I called to get a status. They said it was done. I figured no call from them it must have been less than the $ 45. The guy on the phone stated he hasn’t figured the total out yet. I pick it up and they hand me a bill for $ 141 above the $ 45 I paid. They did the work without telling me and a guy in the department said it’s less than half the cost of a new one so we fixed it without calling. WHAT??? I flip out because this truly was a place I go to often.
So I leave and get up the road and cool off. I called the store manager, Brad I believe, and he needed to find out the story and called me back in 15 minutes. He admitted they were supposed to call me and to drive a half hour back to remove the parts or give me 15% refund. Not acceptable but that was his best solution. Now here is mine I will never spend one penny in True Value again. Home Depot is across the street I will go there. I wanted the labor cost refunded and I agreed to pay parts Brad said no. We have many family members in that area I assure you they will all know my story.
