I randomly happened to stumble upon this cool shop! They have board games, free wi fi, food and pastures. They make a killer spicy dirty chai! Reminds me of chocolate milk/horchata with a subtle kick of chai. Don’t let the taste fool you. it may taste delicious but it has a shot of espresso so you will feel the caffeine!!! Chill, hippy vibe I love it! First time here and it won’t be the last time :)

There’s an old guy who I assume is the owner who has no clue how to run a coffee shop. I was there for about an hour and a half with my brother. My brother had a large drink and I hadn’t ordered anything. I planned to get a couple of pastries for my family on my way out. The old guy came up to me and told me that I hadn’t bought anything and I had to do so if I wanted to stay there. The place was practically empty at the time, so I wasn’t taking anyone’s seat. Needless to say, I did not buy the pastries and I will not be returning. I go to coffee shops almost every day and have never once experienced that.

Sierra Madre is a great community! Beantown is a real treasure. It is a place to gather with friends and neighbors and have great coffee or tea. If your hungry, they have a wonderful variety of food to enjoy. I love their oatmeal with berries and nuts! Matt, the owner, is kind and welcoming. My favorite behind the counter go to guy is another young man named Matt. He is very kind and helpful. Overall, it is an awesome place with a small town feel.

The environment is relaxing. Customer service is good. Drinks were differently tasty from the normal smoothies being made Food is medicore. Small town, and it seems like everyone knows each other. Some of the elders looked at you, like what are we doing here? Hmmm… thanks no thanks.

Bean Town has really upped their game. They have always been a friendly, non-chain type coffee shop with comfortable seating in a quiet room, plus sidewalk tables, with genuinely friendly staff. The espresso pulls are now consistently excellent(not always true in the past). Mochas are made with real chocolate, not just syrup. Burgers seem high priced for what they are but good panninis(chicken pesto, vegetarian, etc.) Fossilman’s Ice cream shakes a good value. Chocolate orange zest scones, the best!

This place is the local favorite of Sierra Madre. Loyal best describes the patrons to this establishment. Coffee, teas and even Diet Coke is served. So you caffeine friends looking for a bolt of energy. This is it. Ice cream and pastries, sandwiches and more highlight the various offerings. It’s a very relaxing, warm environment. Wifi included. Order with confidence.

After walking around downtown Sierra Madre after a street festival, I headed over to Bean Town to relax a bit. I got a Lemon bar, and a macaroon. Along with a cup of hot green tea. Very cute place. Unique décor. Rustic tables and chair. A really cool coffee shop to hang out in.

Very cozy and local. Tried their coffee n’ cream and chai latte. I’ve had better iced coffee but the chai latte is bomb.

Bean town is an adorable place located in down town monrovia. Upon walking in I thought it really reminded me of the Coffee House set from the hit TV Show Friends, Immediately I felt in love ! A bit more modernized with big screen TV but brick walls and old orangey couches. I decided to order a blueberry banaza smoothie, apparently they use fresh fruits so it felt refreshing and a bit thick. I def. want to come back to try their other pastries in the future!

Bean Town is a cozy, small café in a Sierra Madre town that is quite interesting to see. First and foremost, I love how the ambiance just feels like home with the cozy couches sitting there next to a table where you can read the daily newspaper or work on your laptop. In addition to the homey vibe, I love how this place attracts people of different ages from middle school students checking to see if there is Fosselman ice cream available during their field trip to a closely-knitted group of the elderly celebrating a birthday with breakfast and coffee. Besides having a coffee menu(they even have hazelnut flavored latte), they offer paninis, salad wraps, breakfast food and more to make you want to stay and enjoy some grub while studying or working on your laptop. This place can be a bit loud at times, but that’s what makes Bean Town so amazing in its own way!

I’m such a fan of this place. I say this as I sit at the café, sipping my iced coffee and digesting my chicken & pesto panini and jalapeño chips, which was delicious, by the way. I just love the cozy living room vibe and the diverse crowd, from students studying to locals catching up with friends or just reading their newspaper quietly by themselves. Sometimes it gets a bit noisier, depending on the time of day but it’s super homey and chill most of the time. It’s the perfect place to be when you want to get some good work done on your own but still want to be around people, if that makes sense.

I came here all the time in High School because they served ice cream from Fossilman’s! I also had their iced coffee and it was good enough to keep me going on studying. They have enough tables, chairs, and space for you to have causal talks with friends or if you need to do some studying. I probably wouldn’t recommend it for you to study here because it’s usually pretty loud. But don’t let that stop you! Also, there are a lot of dogs in the area, so if you’re not a dog person then just don’t sit outside. I would obviously come here again.

Great place to enjoy a reasonably good cup of coffee and some tasty food in a quiet relaxing environment. Four daily drip coffees(one decaf) and specialty coffees and tea drinks are offered. A nice variety of breakfast and lunch items as well as pastries fill out their offerings. Table games and a small selection of diverse reading material are available if you want to take a longer stay after you finish your beverage or food. The staff is friendly and know their products. I will come here more often in the future. Not 5 stars because it is rather small.

Stopped here for breakfast this morning for a quick bite to eat before my flight. Small little café located on the main drag in the Sierra Madre. I had a sandwich on a croissant with egg, sausage and cheese. It was okay, the bread was a bit stale but not horribly. I also ordered the strawberry smoothie(they were out of the berry one). The smoothie seamed very watery, but it did have okay flavor. I think the waiter was too interested in talking to his buddy then making my drink correctly. But all in all it was not horrible just not a place I want to make sure to come back too on my next visit. The food did come out quickly and hot, they do have outdoor seating as well.

A chill venue to hang out and have good food. Not a huge selection of food, but what they do have is delicious. I had the pull pork sandwich and a cappuccino. Both were very good. Will defintely come back and try other stuff.

A nice café. Environment: it’s a relaxed area. It’s kinda small so you might not have a chance to get seating. We got lucky. Service: really great service. The people were really nice. Food: cashew chicken salad wrap(custom made) this was really good. Kinda spicy and I asked for some of their salsa to go with it and that was the cherry on top. Pulled pork sandwich was good could have more meat but bbq sauce was great. Dessert: caramel apple cheesecake was great. Wished it was softer but great taste. Coffee: good selection. I like the new Guinea coffee.

BACKGROUND: My office is not too far away from Sierra Madre and I’ve eaten at Bean Town various times before. I usually order the Sierra Turkey Panini or their chicken pesto sandwich. We came here today for lunch to celebrate my coworker’s birthday. We wanted to grab a sandwich then head to Mother Moo Creamery for ice cream. Our party of 7 arrived at 11:45am. Apparently, their lunch menu isn’t available until 12:00pm and they were only showing their breakfast menu on the tv screens. In the past, I remember being able to order a sandwich. even at 11:30AM. The menu used to be hand written on a chalk board. We asked if they had any paper menus we could look at before we ordered, the girl at the register said they did not. A few minutes go by and a man came and changed the TV screens for us so we could see the lunch menu. Two customers came in and we let them order first. After those customers were done, we asked if we could order sandwiches, the girl stated«no». They were already displaying the lunch menu on the screens though… My coworker replies if she could take our orders since it was 10 mins to noon so we can pay first then take a seat. They didn’t need to put our order to the kitchen right away. After taking all 7 of our orders, it should be noon by the time they start making our food, right? Again, she stated she couldn’t take our lunch orders. Our group stood there staring blankly at each other. The girl at the register wasn’t very helpful nor provided any other options for us. Normally, in a situation like this we would have waited it out but overall we felt they didn’t want our business. We ended up leaving and ate somewhere else. They just lost 7 customers today and a handful of us are semi-regulars here.(I saw in another review that there are new owners/management?). 144⁄100 Reviews for 2015

Nice quiet place for some coffee/tea and a bite to eat! This place seems like a great study spot or just a nice place to ready a book or browse on your computer. They have some old school games near the counter like candyland and a dated version of trivial pursuit. The décor is nice with an old rustic feel. There’s a bunch of desserts in the display case and looks like they serve fossleman ice cream. They also make smoothies. I got a chai tea latte and shared a pesto chicken sandwich and both were delicious. If you don’t want to sit around and chill here, it’s still a great spot to pick up a drink and walk around downtown Sierra Madre.
