I absolutely love this place! Their bakery items are amazing, and I have to tell myself not to eat too many. I’ve ordered a cake from them which turned out amazing. The grocery area has a lot of great options too. It is a little hidden spot, but once you try it you will be back again and again.

This is the best German place in SV, far as I’m concerned. Great sit-down lunch, even if the menu is limited, and the food comes out quick after you’ve ordered. The bakery has a pleasing number of choices and the groceries section is fun. Only problem: they need to streamline the checkout process. I waited a long time to pay for my meal and goodies.

Looking for delicious baked sweets and breads in Sierra Vista? Skip the grocery stores — go to the BREADBASKET — You will fall in love with the place! The Breadbasket truly is gem, with so many different treats to choose from — since everything is made fresh daily, the earlier you get there in the morning after opening, the grander the selection will be for you to choose. Chocolate croissants are to die for, as are their simple butter cookies… and the pastries! So delicate and fresh… I practically inhale them(the light sprinkling of powdered sugar slows me down!). I enjoy going to the shop and picking different ones to try — it’s perfect for when company spends the night and you need a little extra somethin’something to make coffee time/breakfast time more special. The girls behind the counter always pack the chosen delights well, so they arrive home looking just as beautiful as in the store. They also have a selection of german import candies(HARIBRO) which are difficult to find elsewhere in Sierra Vista… or Arizona in general! Their sit-down meal food options are simple, and range from traditional german fare(schnitzel) to typical lunchtime sandwiches and soups, and salads. Similar to their baked goods, the meals are prepared with care and with fresh ingredients. They are always are delicious! Great place… and don’t forget to get some of those cookies to go — after you try them, you’ll be craving them later in the night, and you will have wished you had! :)

This is really the only bakery worth going to in town. My husband and I eat here for lunch, it’s quick and convenient and delicious — for sure. The baked goods though — are to die for. The pretzel rolls and chocolate croissants… there is a reason many people have mentioned them. They are divine. Get there early for the best selection.

Best schnitzel in town. This brought back memories of living in Mannheim. A cozy little spot and great food. Everything is homemade and fresh.

I haven’t eaten actual food as in lunch or anything here, but I’ve had the pleasure of getting many a pastry from this quaint and super authentic German shop and YESPLEASE! So good. Really friendly. Kind of weird hours.

What I purchased was OK but the customer service was beyond words. Some of the rudest treatment that I have ever encountered in Sierra Vista(except Trail Boss). I don’t care how good the food might be. I won’t be going back.

Whatever else Sierra Vista lacks, here is a terrific bakery and lunch café. If you can get here before 10am, the selection of bread, croissants, rolls, sweet rolls, cookies etc is amazing. All good. Sandwich and soup in 10 minutes. Fresh crisp lettuce in salads. Several German specials, and you can order in German. Packed out the door at lunch hour. Near main gate at Ft. Huachuca. Extra parking in nearby church lots. Recently able to take credit cards, but bring cash.

Wonderful lunch and bought way too many pastries because they are all so delicious. The atmosphere is friendly and reminds me of the years I spent in Germany as a child. The Jagerschnitzel, and Schnitzel my husband ordered, were all delicious and fresh. Can’t wait to go back.

I love the Jägerschnitzel and Mezzo Mix(aka Spezi). I just dislike the location.

I only give them a 4 because I have not explored their whole menu. The kids love their cookies and they never last the rest of the day regardless of how many we get. Cash only is a major drawback.

I decided to check this place out after hearing good things about it. When I was standing in line… I was like, «Oh crap! I just remembered that people were saying it’s a cash only place.» Ahhhh… I only had my debit card and I came in during the rush time. Well, I picked the right day to come in b/c the guy ahead of me pulled out his credit/debit card!!! OHYES! And the lady accepted it as a form of payment. So, I was thinking, «Yay, I can swipe away.» Anyway, I ordered a greek salad for myself and the chicken ceasar salad for the hubby. It was delish! It also came with a bread and butter on the side. That was pretty tasty. I also ordered a cream puff for my daughter. I took a bite out of it to try it and wow! It was kinda crispy on the outside but moist in the inside. Very delicious! The price for each item was totally worth it. The quality and presentation was worth every penny. And I took it to go.

I still love this spot. It’s my mom and Gramps’ go to lunch spot… they always have soup, which makes the old man super happy. But what you really need to go here for are the baked goods. I miss their chocolate croissants when I’m away… I have yet to find anyone who makes them as good(sorry, Panera), and this last time I tried these delicious chocolaty desserts. It’s a cookie ring, covered in sweet cream and the drenched in chocolate… put it in the fridge before you eat it… it’s like icy heaven! Their pretzel rolls can’t be beat… these cats were doing that way before it was cool. How hipster. :)

Best bakery in Southern AZ for sure! Be aware that they only serve lunch, 11 – 2 I think. The bakery is open all the time, however, from early in the morning(maybe 6 or 7). I like to stop on my way to work and grab a croissant. Love the croissants! So delicious in multiple flavors! Their lunch is very good– bread is awesome, so soup and sandwich is what I usually go for. Soups are excellent and made fresh daily. Also, cash only!!!

The best bakery in Sierra Vista hands down. The German Apple cake is incredible, and this is coming from someone that hates apples. Everything is scratch made daily, you can really taste the freshness of the product and quality ingredients. The soups are fantastic. You can waste your time going elswhere, but why would you want too when this place is right here in town and priced so low.

This place is great! Very simple, which I like. The people who own the place are really sweet and seem to love what they do which comes through in their goodies. They are a bakery all day but also serve a small menu of salads, sandwiches and schnitzel during lunch. Their broetchen isn’t as crispy as I remember having in Germany when I lived there but it is pretty tasty. Their pretzel rolls are out of this world, but they sometimes run out in the afternoon so get there before the lunch crowd to guarantee you can snag one… or twelve. PS. They’re cash only!

Most savory avocado chicken salad this side of the Grand Canyon. Their traditional German fare is lovely, too, but that salad is the one that’s kept my craving for the last five years. I don’t visit as often as I’d like, but it remains one of my favorite spots for quick cozy lunches with my husband. Oh, and the pastries? Out of control goodness!

If you love Germany and German food, this is the place for you. There are plenty of good menu items, but it seems unforgivable to not order schnitzel here. Today I had Jaeger Schnitzel(breaded pork cutlet with mushroom gravy) with Spatezle(German noodles) and it was great! I especially like the small selection of grocery items, German chocolates, and bakery items. BRINGCASH because in the past, cards were not accepted.

«Do things right and they will follow. .. « For years, this place has been doing it right. It must be something to do with doing what you love because it shows. Baked goods and lunch. That is what is done here and done right. Stop during lunch time, 11 – 1 and if you hit it right, you will be waiting for a table, and for good reason. Salads and sandwiches are freshly made, served on. .. you guessed it, freshly baked bread. Soup is homemade and served with a great crusty roll(Brochen). The daily special which is frequently Jagerschnitzel, is spot on served with a salad, Spatzle and pickled cucumbers. It is large, filling and reasonably priced. Other treasures are all on display behind glass as to keep the drooling patrons from spoiling the tasty baked goods. There is a small offering of imported grocery items mostly from Germany as this is the ethnicity of the owners and like all things German, are top quality, nearly perfect, understated and offered with little fanfare. Remember to bring cash as this is the only form of payment accepted. Stop in for lunch, a mid-morning treat or late afternoon snack and you will be happy you did, it will put a smile on your face. They are open early and stay open until 5pm for that last minute baked good or bread addition to dinner. Rating 4.8 Stars.
