Came for a quick drink on my tour of the Siesta Key Village. Our bartender, Jenny, was wonderful. She was attentive, quick, and friendly. It’s an outdoor bar, so smoking is allowed, but I can’t complain much about that because it is an outdoor bar. Great place to grab a couple drinks.

Service was good. Food was meh. Coconut chicken was dry, but the fries were good. My daughter(very picky) thought her ranch chicken wrap tasted like pickles, which she hates, so it was not eaten. :-(I had grouper sandwich. It was average. Cheap tasting food at gourmet food prices. We will visit other places while here this time instead of coming back here.

This is a great place to eat while in Siesta Key Village. The atmosphere is so fun and relaxed. The service is great, servers are so friendly and talkative. Our drinks and food also came incredibly fast despite being lunch time on a weekend. The blackened shrimp tacos were delicious! My husband got the shrimp po-boy sliders and he also loved them! You get a large amount of food with every dish, and will walk out feeling stuffed!

After years of going to Siesta Key, decided to try Gilligan’s at 3:00 on a Tuesday afternoon in June. Food was«typical bar food» in taste and appearance but service/attitude of staff quite poor. When I asked the hostess what tables/areas were available, she said very mundanely, «this is what I have» and took us to the bar area despite the place being rather empty(would have liked by the window/street area but her repeated emphasis twice of «this is what I have» made it apparent«have it your way» was not in her training manual. Waitress must have been hired at same time and manual as the hostess because every question was answered with a «yes/no» murmer. When asked about a different pico for the fish besides the«sweet», she reluctantly agreed to ask«the chef», only to return with, «no, we don’t do that…». The final site of bewilderment was when she sat at the table next to us folding napkins and argued with the line cook 10 feet away about filling the«ketchup bottles»…he made it clear to her that was«not my job»… So, with so many other choices in both the Village and SK, Gilligan’s will NOT be on our stopping list again… This place really needs to be on «Restaurant Rescue 911»…

Been here a couple of times now. The first time, I thought it was average, but the second time was great. Everyone in my party of 8 enjoyed their food. The service was good. The margaritas were strong. Live music every evening. What more could you want?

Great Grouper sandwich and local beer! Fun atmosphere, good service and kid friendly. If you like an island ambiance you can out sit on the tropical deck–

My husband and I try to find these kinds of places to eat when we are on vacation: unpretentious, loaded with character, and a vibe that makes you feel like you truly are on vacation. So glad we stopped to eat here! The food was great and our server Kasey was perfect! She was very attentive but not obsessive about it and genuinely friendly. Our food was exactly what we wanted after all day at the beach. Beach food! We both ordered tacos with chips and salsa. They were flavorful, filling, and not heavy. (If you are looking for a gourmet, marble bathroomed, establishment where the waiters treat you like gum on the bottom of their impractical/uncomfortable shoes, this is NOT your restaurant.)

Had dinner here on a Monday night recently. The décor needs work and the servers could use a dose of energy. Also, it wouldn’t kill them to smile once in a while. I ordered the coconut rum chicken. It was very good. I had it with the green beans and opted for the sweet potato fries. The fries option cost me a dollar more, normally not an issue for me, but if I’m paying $ 16 bucks for an entrée it wouldn’t kill you to let me have the fries. The food was very good everything else needed work.

***warning*** Very low end bar food, but the piña colada was good at least. The bathrooms were just as low end as the food, but the atmosphere is okay. I had grouper sandwich grilled that tastes like it was thrown in a pan on a skillet with an inch of oil in it. My salad had brown edges on most of it. The salsa and chips tastes like picanté poured out of a jar. My boyfriend had the coconut chicken dinner and he said it tasted like Frozen out of a bag Tyson chicken, but the sweet potato fries were good. Out server could definitely tell I had about 2 bites of my food and failed to act even a little concerned and ignored we had two full plates of food while asking for the check.

The food was terrible. Grouper fingers, blackened grouper, and attitude of the bartender after I took one bite and didn’t like my food was horrible. It tasted frozen and very fishy. She acted like she caught it herself. Mai Tai was great and the Bud Light was fresh. Jess took the food personally, before that she was nice.

Don’t even waste your time!!! The place wasn’t even half way full and food took longer than an hour. Ordered the Grilled Chicken sandwich and it was a tiny piece of burnt chicken on a bun. Complete waste of time and money. My mother ordered the fish and fries and must of had the left over fries at the bottom of the fryer.

Gilligan’s is a great restaurant for a quick bite to eat while on vacation. We stopped in around dinner time and had no wait. Service was fast and friendly. Our food came quickly and was hot! The Mahi Mahi Sliders are a must try. Also, we got an appetizer of nachos that were great! They were pretty expensive but you get a lot of bang for your buck! The atmosphere at Gilligan’s is great as well! There was live music and a great band. Seating is open to the outside, which is perfect for enjoying the warm Siesta Key weather. Swim suit cover-ups are welcome. Honestly, no complainants!

Came in because it had a great atmosphere and good music. Turns out the reviews were right about being a great spot to hang out and enjoy the night away but really consider the reviews because the food was bad(bland, salty and not tasteful). It’s really a 2.5 star. We made the mistake to give it a shot as its centrally located and looks nice but we would be regretting that decision afterwards. I know its a bar atmosphere but you should at least be able to get a well seasoned burger. So if you want a place to chill come here but if you want to grab something to eat go somewhere else. Don’t waste your money here.

We love coming to Gilligan’s when in siesta key. It’s a great beach atmosphere and the staff is always friendly. There is an indoor and outdoor part, so it is always move when the weather is good, to be outside. The drinks are tasty and when we have been there the bartenders are always attentive and keep your glass full. We met Leah last time and she was really nice and made our evening fun. She smiled at everyone she helped and seemed to love her job. We we definitely be back!

Don’t come for the food. Come for good live music. Come for a good cold beer. Come for a neighborhood hang out or cheer for your sports team. Indoor and outdoor seating. Restrooms are like what you expect in a public beach facility. Chips were stale. Fish were frozen. Menu was pricey for what you get. Summed up… A cook works here, not a chef. Once was enough for me. Thanks for the memories.

We went for dinner on a Monday night… they were busy but only a 10 min wait. The server was nice but only came to the table once or twice all night. We ordered fish tacos(not bad), Caesar salad(okay), Child’s burger(fries were cold) and the Grouper Gilligan. The grouper was so bad my husband could not eat it(his side of onion rings was cold too). When he told the server she was apologetic but did not send over manager or take it off bill. Maybe okay for drinks but as for dining, would not recommend.

I’ve never had any food here, but this is our go-to late night dancing/drinking spot when we’re staying on the key. Their draft beers are usually around $ 4 and cocktails around $ 5. DJ-type music usually starts around 10:00pm, but their live music before 10:00pm is usually pretty good too!

The unstoppable nachos were really good, we split it between three of us, however I had bad gas for the rest of the night and it was worth it but my girlfriend was pissed. The coconut shrimp was amazing and the service was friendly.

This is a pretty nice restaurant! Just keep in mind that there’s little to no «indoor» seating, it’s pretty much entirely outside(but kept cool even in the middle of the summer day). Parking is also a short walk down the street. Good food, huge portions, very filling. A bit on the expensive side, with no discounts for military or seniors.

When taking a break from reality or the beach scene at Siesta Key Beach, Gilligan’s is sure to deliver a great experience. I decided to visit a group of friends who were in Siesta Key village for the duration of the weekend. Upon arrival I immediately noticed that Gilligans is a great go-to spot, replete with an awesome Key West style vibe and great drink and food offerings. On the particular day I went it was Satueday and there was an awesome live band jamming out. Suing my visit I was exclusively on the side patio which in also connect to and leads to the back patio where there is a stage where he bad plays. The bartenders were friendly and inventive with their drunk selections and concocted us a unique shot I had never had before. The service and quality of what was served was on point. My only gripe is that there isn’t a parking lot to accommodate patrons but there is parking available in the downtown area that is a quick walk. I will surely stop by Gilligans again next time I’m in the area.
