This is a beautiful state park. Stayed there in 2012. It is right on the Clarion river. We were able to get one of the campsites right on the river — and it was worth it. In addition, there is a small river(the Clear Creek) that runs through the campground. The ‘beach’ area is a ways away from the camping area — so we didn’t use it. It is on a dammed up area of the Clear Creek. When we were there, someone had made an inner tube run on the clear creek. While not more than 2.5 feet deep, it was running fast enough for the kids to have a ball running their inner tubes down it. The campground is also really close to Cook Forest — where you can see old growth forests(400 year old, incredibly tall trees!). Great hiking. The bathrooms at Clear Creek were among some of the nicest and cleanest I’ve seen at a state park.
