First time here bases on Unilocal reviews and I’m not disappointed! Yummy California burger, onion rings, washes down with Stella Artois.

Always get the sampler or the chili cheese fries! You can get the half order, which is more than enough for one, or the full which the amount will surprise you. Atmosphere is pretty laid back, tvs on the wall and booths. Overall 4⁄5.

This was my first time eating here & I really liked it. I ordered onion rings for appetizer & the driller, along with a coffee. The onion rings are probably some of the best I’ve tasted. The food was all yummy & with generous proportions. The place has outdoor seating & the umbrellas at the tables completely shield the sun, so you’re completely surrounded by shade. Our server Jennifer, per the receipt, was very friendly & attentive to our needs. I did feel that it was a bit pricey @ $ 53 for 3 of us. Then again, I ordered $ 7 onion rings. Overall, I would recommend this place & will be going back. :)

I was in the area, and went for lunch. The place says its been there since 1932, so i think i graded easier than if it had only been around since 1998. There are two oil derricks in the parking lot… the building looks like its from the 60s or 70s… not 1932. Likewise the interior is a mishmash of things from different eras. The bathrooms definetly smell like they have been there sinc 1932… i finally realized that bars put ice in the urinals to attempt to keep the sewage smell from wafting up towards the user. I drank a grapefruit IPA which tasted… like grapefruit. i got a curley burger, which was large, and good tasting. The fries tasted a little like the oil needed to be changed, but i thought the burger was a good value. i went in about 11AM, and there was no waiter yet, so the two waitreses were covering all the areas. i kind of thought they were taking a long time to take my order, but then they took the order of the couple sitting behind me, that were there before i was. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back if I was in the area, but i would not feel a big loss if it wasnt for several more years.

The staff are all very friendly and accommodating. The second we tried their buffalo wings, we were hooked. My husband and I have been on a buffalo wing tasting adventure recently and Curley’s wings are in my TOPTHREE wings. We order them extra crispy and they are OHSOGOOD. You know what else is amazing here that would shock you because it’s a dive? Their Mushroom & Sausage Flatbread! It’s the best flat bread I’ve ever had. Seriously. Great toppings, super crispy and very large portion. Just delicious. Basically, all we order when we come now are the wings and the flat bread and we’re more than satisfied. Oh ya, and my husband loves that he can order beer in their giant glass(sorry, I can’t remember what it’s called).

We really like this place! From the outside, it looks like an old café. From the inside, it looks like an old bar. In the best possible way. I love both cafes and bars, so this place strikes the right note. It feels like an old, cozy neighborhood bar where the regulars all know each other. I’ve only been there twice, but I would like to fantasize that I will someday be a regular. Do yourself a favor and get a tall beer in an icy glass to start off your meal. Treat yo’self. As for food, we’ve tried: –California burger: Delicious! Curley’s really knows how to make a burger where the meat is juicy and seasoned, and it actually stays together on the bun! I hate messy burgers where the ingredients slide all over the place. Curley’s, however, knows how to stack! –Chili cheese fries: Hearty, made in-house chili! Yum! –Onion rings: Large sweet rings battered in breadcrumbs. They are made in-house and are made with Pabst! Get them! –Grilled cheese: The perfect amount of cheese and the perfect amount of «toast» on the bread. Comfort food at its finest. We like Curley’s a lot. I daresay it’s one of my favorite places to get a burger. And I like knowing that places like this exist in the world: comfortable, unpretentious, and timeless.

The worst $ 12 breakfast I’ve Eva had. Not complaining though. Just warning. You don’t expect a good breakfast from a place that hangs a «cocktails» sign from the window. But the coffee was like drinking warmed brackish water and the bacon could be used as your stir stick. This review is only about their breakfast and I know there’s hardly room to complain, but hey if your gonna serve it you gotta accept the consequences. I wouldn’t wish this place on anyone that values breakfast. If you don’t really care and just need something to help you not feel guilty about your 2 fingers of Jameson, well then this place is for you.

Great food, cold beer and the friendliest service around. Live music on weekends during the summer.

On our way in, we laughed and pointed at all the freaks across the street waiting for a table at Black Bear. When we opened Curley’s door, we were greeted with a smile and the option to sit wherever we liked. The rise & shine rum cocktail looks small and un-intimidating but it packs a big punch. My breakfast sandwich with sausage reminded me of the ridiculously fat sandwiches they give to Guy Fieri on DDD. I looked at it and wondered how I was going to get my mouth around it. I made it through a couple of edge bites & then tackled it with a knife & fork. At 40%, I sighed and realized I was going to need help. The Mr. saved the day & took down the rest. The sausage patty is huge, with a capital H. They serve the breakfast sandwich on a hamburger bun, with lettuce and tomato. It’s like a breakfast sausage burgerwich. I preferred the seasoned home fries over the hash browns. Service was fantastic. As we left, we taunted the fools across the street a second time. Curley’s is an A-plus in my book.

Had breakfast here for the first time. I ordered bacon & eggs & it was satisfactory. Also ordered the Curley’s Bloody Mary & it was fine. Our waitress was very nice & attentive. The menu looked extensive with breakfast & dinner. I will come back & try the burger as it did look good!

Good food. Comfortable setting. Great salsa… but $ 0.95 for maybe a ¼ cup serving. Was told hash browns were fresh, if fresh, it was fresh frozen like.

I fought another cat in this parking lot. I pinned him against the oil thingy out front and used my hind claw. Afterwards, Duke celebrated with cold IPA.

I don’t think(emphasis on the I) this place even deserves a single star. Today, my husband and I decided to FINALLY give this place a go, after driving past it every other day. We thought they might have awesome food since they’re very«famous» in Signal Hill. But they’re not at all what we expected. Service SUCKED! Our order was inaccurate! I asked for wheat bread on my grilled cheese and got white bread instead. Not a single grill mark on the bread or signs of it ever being toasted, it was like smothered in oil, or margarine because it sure wasn’t butter. My side of fries were cold as shit. And so were my husband’s. He ordered the $ 10 Bleu cheese burger on rye(he got a regular burger bun) with mushrooms and bacon and half fries, half onion rings(dollar extra) wait… it was more like 4 onion rings, 4 very over cooked onion rings I must add(I should’ve photographed this nightmare of a meal, it just wasn’t «picture worthy»). Anyway, this place gets a thumbs down or two from us. It was our first time and our very last time coming to this«gem» of a place.

Came here on a Saturday after work while waiting for my girlfriend who was stuck in traffic. She recommended this place… The staff was amazing… We talked about fantasy football, Palm Springs… Awesome service and just good people. I ordered a beer and wings and they were simply amazing! Big eye IPA and the hot wings! Can’t go wrong! There was an older guy at the bar who was drunk and giving the staff problems but they were totally patience with the guy and he eventually left. I felt like I was at home here, the service was great, the beer was ice cold and the food was amazing. Defiantly coming back here!

The sign outside says World Famous. So, I thought, let’s see if that’s true. It ain’t. It wasn’t bad either, but c’mon, you can’t give yourself that label unless you have something to offer that is great. I had their chili and hamburger. It was good, but not outstanding. Prices were of good value. The service as super friendly and a little slow. It didn’t leave me any memories in which I said I had to come back though. World Famous. Really?

I come here often to get in a breakfast and drink after work. I usually order the standard english muffin, eggs and sausage with a mimosa on the side. The breakfast is ok, comparable to Denny’s. My favorite thing to order is the english muffin that is toasted and buttered for you. The drinks are the best part. The service is good and this place is great for large groups.

Happy Hour with coworkers. Not sure why it usually equates to having adult beverages but it is what it is. And it’s how we ended up at Curley’s one evening after work. Service wasn’t very good. Other than bringing out some appetizer dishes for our group to share, majority of the group ended up having to walk to the bar to get drinks. At one point, there was a little scene because one of the servers couldn’t find one of our debit cards. Eventually it was found but not after she denied vehemently that she returned it. The adult beverage selection wasn’t bad — and for me, that means craft beer. The adult beverages were served in adult sized mugs which I liked and it was served ice cold which I liked even more. The prices, which I’m not sure were Happy Hour prices or not — couldn’t get a server around to ask — were pretty decent considering the size of the mugs. Not really commenting on the food as we only had appetizer dishes — bar finger food basically. Lots of free parking; both indoor and outdoor seating.
