I visit the mountain about once a year and every year the building where Double Barrel is currently housed is the restaurant for the year and I don’t expect them to be open next time I visit. THE Food was very mediocore. I got the pulled pork, fried okra, mac n cheese and it all was very boring and didn’t taste fresh. The cheese was all clump in the mac n cheese and the rolls that came with the pulled pork was stale and dry… Off The Grill II down the street was 100 times better.

First visit… Great Pulled Pork! This this is a wonderful addition to places to eat on Signal. We met Ray, the owner, and was impressed all over again. He is honest and really has the desire to make this a great place to eat and enjoy. The atmosphere is very pleasant, we really liked the old signs(not new then made to look old). I am sure this will develop into a must go place on Signal Mountain. I have lived here all my life and am excited to have this new restaurant on the hill I am 73 yrs old and have seen many businesses come and go, I sure hope the residents of Signal Mountain get behind this young man and support this resturant.

I was very excited to try this place since I have been driving by it, but was thoroughly disappointed. My dish was very flavorless and had the taste of being reheated in the microwave; especially the chicken. I drenched it in BBQ sauce thinking it would help liven up the food, but it tasted like cinnamon which was new and unwelcome for a bbq sauce. I also ordered a salad and was not impressed. I will not be returning nor recommending this place.

It’s ok, just that. We went before their entire menu was being offered and still they were out of a few meats and side. I had pulled pork — a bit fatty, and smoked turkey — bad flavor. The sides were good. I love barbecue so I’ll probably give it another try at some point.
