Scratch this place off your list. Terribly rude staff and very mediocre looking pizza. We were traveling back home and need to eat, drink, and go to the restroom. I walk in and head to the back, only to have someone tell me I have to go to Walmart. I left and went to Smithfield’s instead where we normally stop. They have friendly staff, good food, and a perfect 100% sanitation score.

I walked in to order and was told to just help myself. There were only 3 pizzas out. One tray had one burned pepperoni slice left. The other two had random slices on it but none of them were cooked thoroughly and the salad bar was unappealing. There was a random dessert that I tasted out of morbid curiousity and it was a poorly done peach cobbler. The man who I dealt with was actually very nice and served me my soda but then informed me that the girl«will be back in a second, she went to Walmart». She leaned over and asked me once if I needed anything, then disappeared in the back. I paid $ 8 for really bad pizza and zero service.

Good pizza, charming owner, nice young ladies working behind the counter and good prices — all-in-all a nice establishment. Only wish they made Detroit-style pizza :-)

Worst place ever. Stopped on way home from Raleigh. Paid $ 9+ for old cold nasty pizza and a salad bar that did not have the items it advertised. When I asked if fresh pizza would be put out the man said no. He ignored me rest of time. When I complained of food and service he said there is no service. He ate and watched tv the whole time. Food is awful and service is worse. Would have been way better off at McDonald’s.

Don’t let the bad reviews fool you! The pizza is delicious! Our service has always been great! Salad bar is Fresh! Owner has always been friendly! We enjoy Scratch Pizza! We will continue to go to this pizza place!

We went to the Scratch Pizza and sat down. The waitress took our order and we hardly saw her again unless we stood up and waited for her to come from the back. Neither the owner or the waitress would stay in the front. They stayed in the back of their kitchen almost the entire time. The only good thing was that he made a pizza(½) of one that we asked for. The waitress picked out the rotten cucumbers while we were eating. I looked at the ones in my salad and they were slimy as well. The tomatoes were fermented. I asked her why and she said the night shift person on Sunday(this was Tuesday) over did the slicing. So, this stuff is from Sunday? We had to get up to ask for napkins, and to wait for someone to come from the back of the kitchen to slide the dessert to the bar where we could reach it. She had cut the cake and left it where we couldn’t reach it. I watched her eat the rest of the cake pieces left on the plate right up front where the bar was. When we paid, my mom asked about a senior citizen discount and/or child’s discount. He said my 10 year old was too old and no senior discounts because he was losing money as it was. He asked how many pieces we had and then said, «well, then… you can see why I’m losing money». I told him my son only had 2 pieces and NO salad bar which on his menu says is $ 5.00. He didn’t bother to give us that discount. . I agree with the first reviewer. The owner isn’t very friendly. I know he is well known in town, but there is no excuse for bad service from even the owner. Oh, no Wi-Fi either. Lastly, when I first got there, I went to the bathroom to wash up and there were no paper towels or anything to dry your hands with. I told the waitress that the paper towels were out and she said that they have been out for a few weeks. When the owner was complaining about how much he is already losing money, he mentioned that paper cost was out of this world. So, don’t expect paper towels in the bathroom and ask your waitress for napkins. They probably won’t be out like they should be. I have been there three times and not once was I happy being there, so I won’t be back again. Sorry. I like my local restaurants, but not this one
