This is a wonderful 1 hour scenic train ride through beautiful woods and wildlife preserve. Passengers sit in open air cars and learn about the woods and beavers from the knowledgeable staff. There is a (free) train museum on the grounds that has many interesting artifacts and a working model train. There is also a diner that has snacks available for purchase. The best part of Silver Lake Railroad is that it operates on donation only… so it is very affordable for a family to enjoy this excursion.
We had a great time and are definitely coming back next fall!
