We love to stay at this park. The Rangers are great and work hard to make this a jewel in the TN State Park system. Some sites are not suitable for small kids because of the steep grade and camping platforms. There are some at the bottom of the hill, near the playground, that are fine for kids. 5 star park.

What ever you do steer away from renting a pontoon boat at the marina. The boat we rented was in terrible condition, broken support for the upper deck, the steering was hard to control, the water supply for the slide was broken, there were sharp edges on numerous places for you to get cut on. The boat did not come with a anchor… really!!! The person at the front desk told me that the lake was to deep to use a anchor… come lady. Give me a break!!! I guess the lady at the front deck thought I was an idiot, well guess what I’ve been around boats for 50 years. What came out of her mouth was one of the stupidest things I have ever heard. How are you supposed to stop and enjoy the slide and natural beauty of the lake. It’s a shame there is not a marina on Center Hill lake that has half way decent rental boats. The dock help were just as bad as the boats. Young kids doing an adults job. They could care less if we were there or not. The Marina is a disgrace to the states park system. Please do not expect a good experience as far as boat rentals are concerned. I will NEVER return to the marina!!! If you are interested in a good experience try Hidden Harbor Marina. I had rented a ski boat the week before that was in good condition and it came with a «anchor». The«adults» that operate the marina are very courteous and knowledgeable.

I love Edgar Evins. My parents own a boat on the marina, and my husband and I come a couple times a month to visit them. There are so many places to hike, and Center Hill Lake is amazing. So many coves and waterfalls to explore. I can’t wait until summer so we can get out again!

Our first camping experience at Edgar Evins was fantastic! We camped at the«primitive camp site» which had a fire pit with grill, tent area, and benches. The best part of the trip was camping so close to the water! A short walk down to the waters edge offers flat rocks for easy access to the lake(and cliff jumping). The kayak rentals near the entrance of the park were another highlight, shuttling you to the dam and picking you up 3 hours down stream. Highly recommended!
