CVS Pharmacy

Only a review of the Pharmacy. If there was a way to be slower and more inefficient, I would like to see it. The wait is always long regardless if you are dropping off or picking up a prescription. I just plan on 30 minutes for every visit.

I’ve used this Pharmacy for years and after years of mediocrity, I’m finally switching after today. The store is never clean, the wait is always terrible, and the staff tends to mismanage my prescriptions. This week, I’ve called twice about two medications from different doctors. Both times, I was told that the Pharmacy had contacted my doctors multiple times and they hadn’t responded. I finally called both doctors offices. One said that they had sent a fax three days ago. They called CVS, which claimed never to have received it. The other doctor’s office said the pharmacy had never called, and renewed the prescription for me right away. The hassle of switching all of my prescriptions over to a new pharmacy will be worth it at this point.

This CVS is fully stocked and quite well organized, and you can find most items you are looking for. I have to give them a low rating, however, due to several very bad experiences with a few staff members –and especially with one of the managers. They have made mistakes (that happens…), but rather than apologize they have been rude about it.
They are still my pharmacy for now (the location is good), but I know not to have any time-​sensitive prescriptions sent there without immediately calling to follow up.

The store is ok, but don’t go there after the middle school kids get out. They come in and drop their bags at the front door and make alot of noise. The prescriptions there are very high. If price is a concern for prescriptions, go to Leisure World.

I am reviewing the Pharmacy at this CVS on Bel Pre Rd. in Plaza del Mercado.
Avoid this pharmacy at all costs! They are terrible! They are so disorganized and have no idea what they are doing. I drive several miles further to the Norbeck Rd. CVS Pharmacy because they are wonderful there and actually know what they’re doing and have your prescription ready in a normal amount of time.
Example of why Bel Pre Rd. CVS Pharmacy is the worst — I have tried to change my address there for about 4 years now. I have filled out every form they’ve given me to change it, multiple times. I have told them every time I go that my address has changed and they say Ok lets get it changed. Well, the next time I go back, it’s never right! Right now, it is a combination of my sister’s address and mother’s address. No idea how that happened. I’ve never even given them my sister’s address. lol
Another example of why they are the most incompetent pharmacy ever. They always are backed up and can never find your prescription! Their normal response as to the time it will take is a 2 hour wait. Well one time I said okay, I’ll wait for it. I sat down in the waiting area. 2 hours later, I got back in line, got up to the counter, and said my last name, and they told me, Oh it’s not ready yet. Really? Really? It’s not even a medication that they have to count out pills– it’s a ring of pills in a sealed bag, that they only have to place in a CVS baggy and boom it’s ready to go! I told them this and they said oh, and someone went and got it.
A trick I’ve learned is to always tell them you will wait for your prescription, even if you are coming back. This generally guarantees it will be ready that same day (several hours later of course).
Avoid this pharmacy!

This CVS has come a long way. The most notable things about this location:
— The convenience store AND pharmacy are both open 24 hrs.
— The pharmacy people who take the graveyard shifts have a pretty good sense of humor about things :)
— There’s a Fu Lin (Chinese restaurant), Quizno’s, Blockbuster and Giant in the same shopping center.
— This is one of the less ghetto CVS’s in the area.
