Their service is the worst l. I contacted them serval times to assist with no results. I financed a vehicle there may 20^th… on the way home my liscence plate was one screw and hanging off. i contacted them so I can get my vehicle registered and they said they didn’t have my paper work because they thought I was another customer whose sale was retracted. I had my car for one week and the service engine light came on. Don’t purchase from here you’ll b stuck with a really nice bomb that will be in the shop longer than you’ll have it. They will give you the run around

Apparently, communication isnt a key here. My husband and I were so interested in buying a pre owned vehicle, dealing with a salesman who has tons of customers. Terrible idea. We waited what might of been 2 weeks before coming back, just too check other places. Not only did did the salesman not acknowledge us when we came back. HE SOLD THE VEHICLE! With out our knowing. The loyalty you should give one customer should be the first thing.
and than had the nerve too tell us, check the lot for another vehicle. geez.

their parking lot has very little room for customers’ cars and has a dead end you have to back awkwardly out of – probably with a lot of help it’s very third world. i was so upset about trying to park that i had no emotional bandwidth left for car shopping.

Long waiting lines, only one parts clerk. You would think they would have some sort of rotation when employees take lunch. Bought a part had to return it, and was told it would take between 5 – 7 business days and if the funds aren’t there to call back. ??? It only took them a matter of minutes to take the funds, why so long to return funds. Had a issues with cashier also, she seemed more interested in her own personal needs rather than the customer, again a long wait. I saved the best for last, called before to find out if they had the part. I was quoted a price of 114.00 when I arrived I was told the part was 148.00. I won’t be going back…

This is a review for the new car sales division of Darcars. Our car buying experience has been all but perfect. We did not haggle the price of the vehicle.

updating my initial review, based on several visits to the service center. I won’t take my car anywhere else. I used to feel really anxious about taking my car for service because I’ve had too many experiences when I felt taken advantage of, and being a woman I feel that I am somewhat of a target for up selling services. I have never felt that way at Darcars. I have consistently gotten great service, great customer service, and no one makes me feel like they are out to fleece me. On the contrary, in two occasions I tried to give them money for things they have considered complimentary! Shawn is excellent, and I trust his advice implicitly — and I never ever thought I would be so complimentary about a car service center, but I am a convert.

We bought a new car here, and have brought that car in for service once. The car buying process was pretty standard — our dealer was friendly and helpful. He arranged for insurance through a contact of his at rates that were better than progressive. The financing took some time, but perhaps because the financing person was new — it was his first week on the job.
I give the dealership only three stars, primarily because it took so, so long to get my car tags. As in, they issued me temporary tags that were good for something like 60 days, and then when those expired they had to issue me new temp tags because my DC tags still hadn’t arrived. There were various excuses — usually that ‘DC tags just take long’ that I didn’t really buy. I suspect that the real reason it took so long was the volume of cars sold by this dealership isn’t served by enough title/​tag people. It may not seem like a big deal to drive on temporary tags for months but when you live in a zoned neighborhood, or if you drive on the highway and need EZ pass, it’s a huge inconvenience. I called repeatedly and never got calls back from the tag department (you can only leave messages). Finally I started harassing the dealer who sold us the car and he told me that our paperwork had been submitted incorrectly. At this point I was over it and asked to just go to DMV myself and wait in line and get the tags! They refused this — and in the end I had to take off work twice to drive in — once to pick up new temp tags (that they would only issue 48 hours before my first set of temp tags expired) and again to finally get my tags. I really think this dealership needs to hire more /​more qualified tag people and to let people know at the time of purchase that they shouldn’t expect their tags for several months.
We also brought our car in to get a tire replaced and the price was ok, service department was efficient and well organized, so I would bring the car back. I didn’t get an impression anyone was trying to upsell me on repairs.

My review is for the Used Car Dealership & Staff. I brought a used Toyota Camry for what I thought was a decent price. The day I wanted to purchase the car the finance managers were too busy to see me and one of them had just walked off and left early. This was an hour before closing. The manager asked if I could come back tomorrow to purchase the car. I should have known better and just kept it moving. But I feel in love with the car, it had all of my must haves.
I returned the next day and I was talking with one of the finance managers who could only get me a certain APR, then he showed me my credit report and the report was for another person. So he basically should me the confidential information of a previous customer. He said oh.
Later he blatantly said to me, «You wanna risk buying this car without a warranty?» after I had repeatedly refused the warranty. I was irritated and I just left and told them I would think on the situation.
The sales person Emmanuel called me and asked me to come and and they gave me another finance manager. The manager gave him a note with the agreed APR & terms. He seemed nice and walked talked over things and he was patient with me. Then when I went to sign the forms he had raised the APR by 1.5%. I pointed this out and he was confused about what I was talking about and said I was the one mistaken. I was hot at this point and emotional. He called the manager in who apologized for the finance manager’s mistake and agreed with me about the correct APR. He gave me like $ 500 off the total price. They also agreed to fix the front bumper which was hanging off as agreed upon by the salesperson prior to me buying it.
I brought the car in to get it fixed and I got the car back and I could see the glue. It looked like someone had used a glue gun. I called them and the assistant manager told me to come in and they would look at it again. I came in the next day and one asst manager I had talked to was off and another one was there. This one refused to even look at the car because I had not spoken to him on the phone. He spoke very condescending to me and talked down to me. I was angry at this point and I began to yell. Then the brought out the manager, who agreed to look at the car.
This is the worst experience, I have brought four cars in the past and I have never been treated so badly during the experience as I got from Dar Cars, I vowed never buy from this place again.

So jdobson followed up until the aforementioned problem was resolved.
I have to give her credit, she followed-​up; she had others follow-​up and she was polite and went the extra mile to make things right. I appreciate that!

I would not buy from Darcars again — I’ve had much better, more professional experiences with other dealers.
We like the car and got a good price, but overall the customer service here has been terrible. Service was ok when we were there (slow, but that’s to be expected), however since we walked out the door it has been nearly impossible to get numerous issues resolved.
First they misfiled the paperwork and we had to sign everything again. Then it took forever to get our license plates, so long that we went through two sets of 60-​day temporary tags. I spoke to so many people I can barely keep track and no one ever called back — forget having the staff or management be proactive in any way, the follow-​up is entirely on you. Really poor customer service.

I have been a customer of Darcars toyota since 2001. Anyways, I brought my van, a Toyota Sienna xle, for scheduled maintenance (oil change) early this morning. To my surprise they finished it early, but when I checked my van there was a big scratch on the rear right side of the vehicle about 7 inches long with a dent close to the rear brake light measuring about 1 ½×1 ½ inch. I told the service consultant Shawn Reynolds about it. He immediately looked at it and directed me right away to his service manager. The thing that I didn’t appreciate was when the manager told me that the scratch and dent was there before the service. I was very upset hearing that from him. They did thorough inspection of my van before the service and they did not find any problems or damages to my car. I did not even hear an apology from any of them. Therefore, I have to comeback extra day on Thursday for them to fix it. This manager asked me also to replace my four tires. I said no, I explained to him I get my tires from Costco. He told me costco sell tires with same brand, specifications, but it has low quality because it was especially made for costco. Seriously!!! I cannot believe what he told me. Overall, I did not like what I experienced from them.

Really over priced… they wanted to charge 688 $ for brakes and rotors. Went up the street to see about a better price. The other place charged 390 $.
Also my car inspection was 160 $ when other places are charging 60 $…
Prices are out of control. Not worth it.

In 2013, I bought a car through Costco’s Auto Program for a predetermined price. When I purchased the car, I also bought the prepaid maintenance and extend warranty plans at the same time. BIG MISTAKE!
Fast forward to 2015, I discovered that they failed to submit the prepaid maintenance and extend warranty plans. They even tried to resubmit the paperwork with worse terms than what I paid for. I’ve been patience and allowed them months to fix the problem. Now I’m forced to get government consumer agencies involved to help.
Avoid this dealership and certainly don’t get any of their plans.

I recently received a recall notice from Toyota for my car. It stated that I should check Toyota’s website to see if the recall parts for my make and model were ready. They were. I called Darcars, my local Toyota dealer, to make my appointment. Lo and behold, they didn’t have the parts — they had to order them. This recall notice mentioned the defect could cause injury or death — yet Darcars was totally unprepared to help me.
I called Jim Coleman Toyota and they were fully prepared and had the parts. Very disappointing experience with Darcars.

This was just not a pleasant car buying experience all around! If I told my whole story from the beginning to end it would be an essay. Just know if you decide to purchase here and your experience isn’t pleasant don’t say you weren’t warned!.. I bought a certified car and before a month I had issues with the Brakes, they told me that is not covered even the car is certified. so where is the 121 inspection point? they lied to me, and my lost is their gain.

Worst experience ever. 1-​star is way too high a rating. Went in on Black Friday, made a $ 1000 down payment on a car that one of their sales reps, Brandon told me was MD inspected. Some minor fix needed to be made bc Brandon didn’t like how it sounded so I would need to come back on Saturday to pick it up.
As I was leaving, another sales rep, Emmanuel had the keys and was trying to sell the car I just made a down payment on. I spoke to him and his potential customers and told them I had already made a payment on the car. Emmanuel then told us how constantly incompetent Brandon was and how Brandon should have moved the key to the sold section…
Got a call on Monday saying the car actually wasn’t MD inspected and I would have to pay the cost (~$ 1500) if I wanted the car. So Brandon clearly lied since his manager, Jovaghn told him on Friday when he took the keys to show me the car, that it wasn’t MD inspected.
The manager I spoke to, Jovaghn lacked basic customer service skills: he told me he wasn’t in the business of selling cheap cars so if I wanted to stick to my budget, I should get a car from Craigslist smh. When I asked to speak to a different manager, he gives his «honest» opinion of me and the situation to the other manager, and laughs about it. I guess he didn’t realize that I could hear every word.
Definitely never buying a car from any Darcars ever. I expect a basic level of competence and customer service that they clearly lack.

There’s no 0-​star option, is there? I’ve been fighting with Darcars for months over a car that I purchased this summer. The day after I purchased the vehicle (with $ 2K down), the car started leaking. I brought it back and they did absolutely nothing. The electrical system would malfunction because of the leak and a burnt smell would come from the driver’s side (where the leak is). At any given moment, I’ll be driving down 95 and all of a sudden a smoke/​burnt smell starts coming from the driver’s side dash, the doors lock up, the windows won’t roll down and the emergency flashers start going off spontaneously.
I’ve never been so terrified and embarrassed in my life.
I found a replacement vehicle for about $ 16K at Darcars and when I go to finalize the paperwork, no one wants to tell me what happened to my original $ 2K down and why it won’t be applied to this replacement purchase. In addition to this, the sticker price of the replacement magically changed from $ 15,900 to over $ 18K when I go to buy it AND I’m being asked to put another $ 1K down. That’s not going to happen.
To make matters worse, my car has been sitting in the Darcars service lot since October 20^th. I’m paying $ 260 per month to Capital One Auto Finance (for the car to sit in the Darcars lot), I’m paying another $ 180 per month in insurance (for the car to sit in the Darcars lot), not to mention $ 42.99 plus tax per day to Enterprise for a month’s worth of rentals. If this problem is not resolved, I’m taking it to the Attorney General. I regret ever stepping foot in that dealership. I’m not made of money. If I was, I’d go to Select Auto or some uppity dealership in Chevy Chase.

Bait and Switch Operation.
We got an email from a sales associate for a Toyota Highlander color, options, etc. all included in email. The the sales manager sends us another email for the same vehicle except a higher price. We called back and told them we are coming for the car and mentioned the price and email and we printed out the email and brought it with us.
Then we get to the dealership it’s empty except for one other customer. They say we are preparing your paperwork and they ask us to sit in the back of the building instead of out on the showroom where everyone is. First indicator that they are going to try and rip you off.
Then we tell them we are not getting any financing and the sales associate says we need you to sign the paperwork to make sure you are in good financial standing. Later we found out that of course they want you to sign the paperwork so they can resell your information to include your SSN.
Then the sales manager comes out and says we have your car and tries to charge us the higher price. We then show him an email with detail and the price and he says ‘So what no one signed the email it’s not a binding document!” What???
Then we tell him we’re not paying the higher price and he says he has to talk to higher level manager disappears for a while. We now have been waiting 3 hours.
He then comes back and says your car is just getting off the loading dock and we are picking it up so it will be a while.
We ask about price again he still doesn’t know.
He made us wait 4 hours before saying that he will not honor the price from the sales associate even though the sales associate is standing right there.
I would not recommend this dealership to anyone because they will make you wait hours and do whatever it takes to not honor sale prices, sell your info after trying to get you to sign finance paperwork, etc.
In short if you want to feel good about giving a place your business go elsewhere.

Called in to check for 2016 Toyota Tacoma if they have one in stock for test drive. The salesperson who picked up my call immediately said they have one in stock, then asked me again, if I only want to test drive it. I was put on hold for a couple minute, and find out that he couldn’t give me a test drive unless I’m willing to drive it home the same night… How do you expect to get a customer or keep one if you don’t let them test drive? 1 star for saying NO in the phone, and saved me the trip of coming down to the dealership. Good luck with your sales!

Wow! First off I was super surprised at the inventory when I came into the dealership.
It’s off of 29 /​colesville so coming from the other side of the SS to DC area it was pretty easy.
I wanted a nice used car and was looking for a suv because I’m so tired of my Acura and used to big trucks, still missing my cruiser. Anywho.
I went into the used car dept outside and to the ramps where I met a sales associate named Luda.
Luda was really friendly and helped me do a deep look around with first checking indoors for what I wanted, and we got specific!
I liked to test drives which was simple and the knowledge of Luda definitely helped the deal. I will for sure refer my friends to this location :)
