I hadn’t realized that everyone«needs a good chicken place» and that El Pollito was mine until I happened across Kristin M.‘s review of Kenny’s Peruvian. The chicken certainly shines here but the sides, other entrees and desserts are equally delicious. Great service and CHEAP prices. Mostly Latino patrons visit the tiny storefront. Boo Frank P. and his lame fanboy Arthur H. Actually — scratch that — hopefully those reviews keep douchies away from this secret gem. Tucked away in a plaza off of Georgia Ave with a Dunkin Donuts, so there’s limited parking.

Had lunch here today. My review is the second. The first review is spot on. Ditto.

El Pollito is one of many rotisserie chicken places in Wheaton. There really wasn’t anything that made this place stand out. The beans were OK, and the chicken was disappointing. I will say that I had the breast quarter rather than the much juicier hind quarter. They didn’t ask me which one I wanted and I forgot to specify. The breast was quite dry and the skin was nothing to write home about. There weren’t many people here, and therefore there wasn’t much turnover for the chicken. This could explain why it was dry, since the chicken could have been sitting for a while. I think the best part of the meal was the fried yucca, which was nothing special, just pretty standard. If you are going to get rotisserie chicken in this neighborhood, there are better options.
