Imperial Fine Framing

Having never visited this shop before I decided to risk it even though the reviews were mixed. I could not be happier that I did. I took a very special set of pictures of our late daughter, my wife and me for custom framing a few days before Christmas. I had little hope of getting it back in time. Not only did Steve the owner get it done in time to ship to Seattle, but he did it for a quarter of the price that I expected. His craftsmanship was absolutely superb and his recommended matting colors and framing were beautiful.
All of my framing needs in the future will be taken to Imperial and Steve. Period!

This is the rudest business owner I have ever encountered. I called in advance and left a message to ask if it was possible to get a piece framed by a certain date. He did not call back, so I brought the piece in a few days later. He was sitting on the stoop outside and said «I hope you weren’t the person who called. I didn’t call you back because I didn’t want to do it.» I had driven a ways to get there and advised that even if I couldn’t get the job done fast, I would need to get it framed anyway and asked if he could do it. He was condescending and evasive and began to lecture me on waiting until the last minute even though I’d already said that it didn’t need to be delivered by a certain date. He walked away from me into the shop and went towards the back, showing no interest in looking at the painting I had or discussing what he could do. I left. Suggest you not waste your time as I did.

When you get the opportunity to support a local shop that does quality hand done work, why wouldn’t you? I found Steve online and brought a huge print to him with lots of previous art collecting and framing experiences. However, Steve’s shop and work was one of a kind — he cares about his work, his shop is unique, and his prices are beyond reasonable. He will work with you to find what product is best for you and for your price point. He was done in record time and the job was impeccable.
Metered parking in front — his spot is on the first floor of a townhouse complex and he seems to open and close depending on traffic so call ahead to make sure he’s available.

Steve, the owner, is eccentric and it takes a while to get into his grove… but when you do it’s a very comfortable place to be. He is a craftsman and will take his time to make sure you get an excellent product.
Prices were amazing, work was impeccable, it’s so nice to not feel ripped off when you go into a frame shop.

Came here with high hopes because of the outstanding reviews, and could not have been more disappointed! This guy insulted me three times within the first minute I walked through the door. I’d called and left a message about 30 minutes prior to arriving, primarily because I wanted to make sure he would be there and not out to lunch. When I arrived, he asked if I was the person who called a little earlier– and told me to have a seat because he was «in the middle of 20 different things» and that he «doesn’t have time to answer the phone, return calls, or take a f**!ing lunch break-​does this look like the government?» Then he proceeded to bash government employees by commenting on how lazy they are, etc. As someone who is a very hardworking government employee, I was beyond insulted and so taken aback by his comments that I thought that there’s no way this jerk can be the owner. So, I asked if he was the owner of the studio, to which he condescendingly replied «Studio!?! It’s a SHOP!» Well excuuuuuse me! This could be a Dr. Jekyll/​Mr. Hyde situation– and I got the short end of the stick that day– but there are way too many other framers in the area that will be nice to me and treat me like a human being. I could not abide this guy’s bad attitude on account of the good reviews. So, I voted with my feet and took my business down the street to Plaza Artist and enjoyed polite, professional service with a smile.

I went to this place as a result of the reviews — and am happy to report that it was a good decision. The owner is talented at his work, the quality of the work is excellent, and the price is right

This place is a gem — I recently took in three pieces and the owner took his time helping me and my friend pick out frames and the price was more than reasonable. He is a true professional — the framed pieces came carefully wrapped and ready to hang. It’s so rare to experience service like this — I will take everything I need framed to him from now on. Truly excellent!

By far the best frame shop I have ever used. As others have noted, the owner is great. The prices are extremely reasonable, and the turnaround time is remarkable. I have a bunch of unframed art that I have been delaying getting framed due to the cost and hassle, but I plan on bringing it all to Steve based on the quality, service and price of the first job he did for me. Very rare to find service like this — I highly recommend Imperial Fine Framing.

Hidden on Bonifant across from the tatoo parlor and gun shop in an apartment building is a neighborhood gem. Steve, the owner, works to frame anything you need. Local, quality, quick and reasonable, I stumbled across his shop when searching to frame a gift for a departing colleague.
