I was fortunate enough to find Mimoza Design this past July, when I was planning my parents 60th wedding anniversary party in Washington DC. I live in Georgia, so it was doubly important to find a florist who was willing to work with me thorough just phone calls and emails. I entertain a lot, and use a florist here(in GA) that is considered to be very high-end… but these two came up with designs that were miles above my florists here! From the beginning, Sarah and Shinki were an absolute pleasure to talk to, and so easy to work with. They responded quickly to all of my questions and came up with the perfect and original floral arrangements, using flowers I never even knew existed! The results were beyond fantastic, not like the run of the mill florals you’d usually get. All of our guests, as well as my parents, were talking about the flowers all night.(Mimoza Design really made me look great!) I am beyond pleased and would recommend their services very highly. I plan on using Mimoza every time I send flowers to my friends and family in DC.

What fun! I just completed my third class with Sarah and Shinki. Each time they’ve offered something different and unique. Plants from the first container garden I made have thrived and have now moved on to larger containers. Mimoza’s handcrafted cement containers are particularly beautiful and unique. Class projects are easily accomplished and results have always been greatly satisfying for me. Already looking forward to the next class and some new additions to my ever-growing collection of indoor and outdoor plants.

The only flowers we had at our wedding were boutonnieres and wrist corsages made with succulents from Mimoza Design… and they stole the show! Sarah was a pleasure to work with — she came to us for our in-person meetings, immediately got our concept, and incorporated our feedback throughout the design process. The boutonnieres were masculine but still formal, and the wrist corsages(made with triple-pearl strands) were like elegant pieces of living jewelry, tailored to the exact dress of each person in our wedding party. For a June wedding in Washington, DC, we knew we needed something hearty to stand up to the heat and humidity and the dance floor, which they absolutely did. It was a unique, personal touch that we expected to only appreciate for ourselves, but guests complimented the flowers over and over… we could have gone through a stack of Sarah’s business cards. I wholeheartedly recommend Sarah and Mimoza Design. Outstanding!

Where do I even begin? I’ve only worked with a florist a handful of times(and one was prom, so my limp, circling-the-drain carnation hardly counts), but I can guarantee you that Sarah from Mimoza will blow everyone else out of the water. Our wedding flowers put Pinterest to shame. After our initial phone consultation, I felt like Sarah just«got» me. She understood my vision for the wedding and had amazingly creative ideas for its execution, down to the color of the bouquet leaves. She is warm, professional, creative, excited, and just a joy to talk to. She was responsive to all my emails and went above and beyond creating the perfect wedding look. In the end, her work was unparalleled. From my bouquet to the centerpieces to the additional finds she threw in(antique vases, votives, and jewelry boxes, be still my beating heart!), Sarah’s flower design was a wedding highlight and did not go unnoticed by our guests. I barely let my bouquet go all night. I highly recommend Sarah and Mimoza for your event.

I had a Kokedama class there and it was a great experience. It was such a great time learning the making of Kokedama. Sarah and Marcos both are very friendly and knowledgable with Kokedama. It’s really a neat way of combining moss and other plants in a elegant presentation. I look forward to taking other classes they offer.
