Dr. Sherer is very thorough and caring. I’m very happy to have him as my doctor.

Dr. Sherer is on the list of the Washington Area’s Best Doctors, and he certainly deserves it. While nobody wants to be put in the position of needing the services of an oncologist, I am certainly glad that Dr. Sherer is mine.
He has gone out of his way to help me in a situation that was very difficult — spending time filling out paperwork to help me get assistance with an impossible-​to-​pay copayment, and letting me use his office as a depot to receive the medication, since delivery to my home would be difficult, as nobody would be here to accept delivery. He is old-​fashioned in the best sense, still working in the patient’s best interest, which a lot of doctors do not seem to follow as their guide these days.
Many doctors seem to overbook, making more appointments than they have time to handle, so that a patient is forced to wait a long time past his appointment schedule before the doctor will actually see him. Dr. Sherer does not work that way. In fact, I have on more than one occasion arrived a while before my scheduled appointment time, and the doctor has seen me before my scheduled time. In fact on the first occasion that I saw Dr. Sherer, when my wife had wanted to accompany me so she could ask some questions, she arrived 15 minutes late, by which time Dr. Sherer had already finished seeing me. Although he was already getting ready to leave the office, however, he was willing to stay and answer her questions, though she was not even his patient. This is the kind of doctor Dr. Sherer is.
