Came here for happy hour and was quiet impressed. I’m mouth. Magnate it’s person but the company that I met up with suggested a peach margarita and it was amazing! Fresh and refreshing and made with real peach chunks. The bartender Karina was attentive and friendly. I was absolutely comfortable and felt like a regular. I can’t wait to come back and try the food!

Cool spot to end the night. We were looking for a spot to grab a drink after dinner and checked Unilocal and Quench was the closest. We had a couple of glasses of wine. The pours were generous, no complaints. My friend’s wine was rancid and the bartender had no problem opening a new bottle. Our only problem with this place was we had last call at 11:30 and about 20 minutes later we were told to get out by I’m assuming the manager/owner. We both got another glass of wine not a shot so we guzzled our wine down-rude!

Quench is a small bar attached to a liquor store. The night I stopped by they had some live music which wasn’t bad. It’s about 10 minutes away from my house so I was looking forward to finding a decent bar close by. They have three large tv’s that were each playing a different NCAA game. They have a decent food menu and a good number of beers on draft. The good: I ordered the bread pudding and a nitro stout. The bread pudding came with 3 small scoops of vanilla ice cream. It has a good size to it and was pretty good, even better with the stout. The service during this first half of my experience was fine. The bad: After my dessert first approach I figured a good pilsner would be a great beer to follow up my dessert which was pretty rich. I ordered a Gunpowder Falls pilsner which came out slightly cloudy(which is fine) BUT also smelled and tasted like vinegar. I asked my server to double check that she poured the right beer and check if the beer was supposed to taste sour(pilsners aren’t). She came back told me the beer was fine. After this point she kind of stayed away from the table and avoided the table. SMH. The simple fix is to offer to pour another beer but instead she chose to avoid the table. I’m not blaming her for a bad keg or dirty lines but she could’ve found a solution. Of course she charged me for the sour, infected beer that I didn’t drink. The pints aren’t cheap either at about $ 8 a pop. Needless to say after bringing my $ 15 bill up 50% to $ 24 I couldn’t bring myself to tip any more of my hard earned cash. Overall: It’s not a bad neighborhood bar and I’ve heard the cheese steaks are also really good. I did enjoy my bread pudding/nitro stout combo. The beer is pricey though. Also if the waitresses are serving sour/bad beer and can’t offering anything else but charging me for beer that isn’t good and that I don’t drink. I can’t find any good reason to come back.

I cannot afford this place. The 64oz growler fills start at $ 30, with the exception of a Sam Adams seasonal that starts at about $ 20… Keep in mind, you go into DC and you can get a 64 of Craft starting at around $ 16 directly from the brewer. Walked around the shop, same story. Very high prices indeed– see other reviews– I am not alone. I walked into the taproom and waited 5 minutes, nobody was there. I had to catch someone who was in the store. Wtih this many brews on tap, and those prices, I can’t imagine the brew is always in good shape, not to mention the lines. Think about it. I would love to support this, and help them keep their brew fresh, but those prices are astronomical. I realize that MOCO is mostly to blame, but if the prices made more sense, maybe there would not be a need to charge so much-since business would most likely be scores better. I looked on their website– no loyalty/discount program of any sort is mentioned. I’ll stick to 6 packs from a much closer shop. Good luck, owner. I really do mean it. I wish you were cheaper…

Quench continues to be the best place in the area to find new, interesting, and exciting beer on tap. Some other reviewers seem to be confused so let me be clear: this is more taproom than bar. If you want a cheap miller lite or PBR then this is not the place for you. If you want rare delicious beers that are hand selected by a knowledgable beer guy(owner Mike) then this is a place you will love. The menu of beers is seasonal and always changing. Yeah the prices look high but I’d rather pay for quality and to try something I can literally not find at any bar for 50+ miles in any direction. A few other things to add:(1) owner Mike is friendly, knowledgable, and always behind the bar. We come in regularly and he always comes by to say hi. Can’t beat good customer service;(2) lots of TVs in this place so a great place to watch the game;(3) Quench has a singer on Friday nights who is great. So if you are looking for live music the beer selection can be your added bonus;(4) if there is a bourbon barrel aged beer on the menu: order it and thank me(and Mike) later.

Gotta knock this down a bit since my overzealous first review. They price point seems to be much too high nowadays, and no one really cares about you as a customer. Food is average. Overall, still a solid place to grab a beer and and bite to eat, but the comparison to Mekong was foolish… this pales in comparison.

Wanted a beer and it looked like the closest place would be TGIF’s. Come to the rescue Unilocal!Found Quench with its 20 craft beers on tap. In a small strip mall and the interior is lit up brighter than a dentist office. However they do have good beer(didn’t try the food on this trip). Only issue was I ordered a #11(Bourbon barrel beer) and turns out they brought me something else(Belgium Delirium red, more on that in a minute). I thought it was great. Then my buddy ordered the #11 as his second beer as he liked it. The beer he received was not what my beer was. Anyway, it was all their error but they would not take back his beer and replace it with what I had. Live and learn. The Belgium Delirium Red was a slightly sour cherry/chololate dessert beer. FANTASTIC! Not for the light of wallet($ 14 for a glass) but something to savor then think about later.

Been here a few times and really love it! NEVER overly crowded and def. a neighborhood place that MAY? take off. I’ve had the chili and the meatball flat breads. Specials on the chalkboard always entice. The bar itself is REALLY modern and the bartenders are cute and friendly. The beer selection is enormous and reasonably priced for what you get. JUST a few if that will do ya! Mike the owner always present and he will talk you up! If I lived in this ‘hood I’d be here all of the time as my friends do.

This is the only place i know of with a large craft beer selection. I’ve been coming here every onceeeee in a while because the prices are kinda high. But when we wanna be fancy and splurge on special craft beers, this is our place! The other day we came here around 330⁄4 pm to grab a quick bite. This is the first time we sat in the«tap room» area. There was a large party at the bar when we got there. There were no signs for hh specials or anything like that. We ordered two beers and two sandwiches. The fiancé ordered some monk beer and a cheesesteak. I ordered a Brewers art stout and a Reuben. I enjoyed my Reuben. There wasn’t much meat, just the perfect amount for a me. The bread was nice and crusty. It had the perfect amount of sauce, cheese and sauerkraut. Really liked my beer– fiancé said it tasted like coffee(not a coffee drinker). His cheesesteak was just okay. I don’t think he hated it or loved it. We ate and asked for the check. When the bill came we were surprised. There was a hh special! We got a dollar or two off each beer.

We were treated like honored guests but it was also 5pm on a sunday so the bar was not exactly crowded. We’ll see about that fifth star after I experience the place in action on a Friday. Sandwiches blew me away for bar standards. Not quite up to par with a proper NY deli but easily top notch for this area. Beers are diverse and all great; clearly they are picking choosing carefully and thoughtfully. Had to make tough calls and would have liked to try more! Overall prices seem a bit high but not as bad as Gillys and this place has a lot more to offer. I was greatly impressed with the quality and I sure ain’t seen a better line up anywhere in MoCo or PgCo. In fact I liked my options here better than my last few big hunt visits. Big fan and I will be back!

Best place to get beer and wine. Especially if you are beer snob like me this place has all of it not some but all of it. Mike and Lala are amazing and their staff is great. Try tap room Next door for some fresh cold beer on tap … Best craft bar in the state by far and you would never think it. Check them out I highly recommend it … Also the food here is amazing as well try the crab dip and the sandwiches and the cheese fries

I don’t drink beer and I stick to just one brand of wine, but even I had fun in the retail store. My husband loves to try all kinds of different beers and Quench was perfect for him. We wandered around a bit taking in all the varieties of beers and wines. There must have been 6 different flavors of Budweiser’s «…Ritas». There were six packs and cases of beer, including the usual standards, Bud, MGD, etc. I didn’t pay much attention to the prices since husband stocks up on his favorite, Old Bay Summer Ale, closer to our home. What really got our attention was the«build your own six-pack». You grab an empty six-pack holder and select what you want from a large selection of single bottle beers. There is fantastic variety, most I’ve never heard of before. He likes to try Maryland beers and we found a Baltimore brand with a Poe theme, he picked«Cask»(very dark, much to his taste); we got a Du Claw; and 4 others that sounded interesting. The price of each bottle varies with some being $ 6+, most around $ 2 – 3. Our 6 pack came to just under $ 19. Husband has been enjoying 1 or 2 each evening, and is looking forward to going back and filling up another 6 pack. We didn’t eat in the restaurant, so can’t comment on the food. We found the staff to be pleasant. The gentlemen behind the counter smiled and said«hi» as I approached. I had a few questions which he answered, and as we were leaving he reminded us that Upper Crust Bakery is at Quench on Fridays. Another good excuse for my husband to go back, as if he needs another one!

Quench has taken their new tap house to a new level — they have greatly expanded the food menu, from a couple of appetizers and sandwiches to a full menu with soups, salads, entrees, etc. This was the final piece to the puzzle; good(expanded) food selection to go along with the good beer selection. My only concern now is alcoholism and gluttony, as it’s a feasible walk from my house. My cross to bear …

I heartily agree with Cecil C. when he said«Don’t come here looking for welcoming, friendly, warm ownership. The owner is rude and disrespectful. I now understand why the place is so empty. Won’t get another dime of my money and I’ll tell everyone to stay as far away as possible.» The beer prices are a serious gouge; you’ll pay less in downtown D.C. Interior is cheap and spartan. He won’t let you taste anything and I think he wanted $ 3.00 for a lousy 2 oz. pour. A pint with tax will set you back $ 10 or higher. And if the owner doesn’t like you for asking him something, namely the correct change, he calls you an «A-hole» under his breath. Very few people come here, and I’ll discourage my group of co-workers from making this a destination in the future.

Beer selection is FANTASTIC. Prices aren’t cheap, but you’re also paying for something you really can’t get elsewhere. The ambiance is very modern and chic, which is such a juxtaposition from the surrounding area. My husband and I were quite hungry when we first went and ordered several food items, all of which were unfortunately pretty disappointing(especially given the price). The shepherds pie was watery with too much pepper, the spaghetti(while delicious) was unexpectedly spicy), and the chili was not flavorful. HOWEVER, I would compliment the pita and dip appetizer as a good option. So, basically, stick with drinks and apps at this place and do a full dinner elsewhere before or after. Service is friendly and very helpful, they were able to split a very lengthy bill — which is always appreciated when it doesn’t make sense to split evenly amongst guests.

Hm… not bad at all! Santucci’s is my go-to for delicious subs, but this place isn’t far behind in terms of taste/value/location/quality. The hoagie rolls are very large, and stuffed with tasty ingredients(like cold cuts, philly steak, cheese, fresh veggies). My only complaint would be about the uncooked onion(and the thickness of it), but that’s a personal preference and in no way diminishes the flavor/quality of their food. It also helps that upon entering, you’re looking at rows upon rows of various wine. This isn’t a place that focuses on 10 – 15 types of wine, in bulk. This is a place that easily carries over 100 types. Who doesn’t like that? Red, white, rosè…and if you’re bored with that, there’s a section with craft beer and hard ales. All the bases are covered. It’s actually perfect for a casual dinner in. Grab a few sandwiches in the back(which are made fresh to order), a couple bottles of wine, and one of those delicious nougat treats at the checkout. Even their chips are gourmet. Avocado-oil Chilean lime kettle chips and Olive-oil rosemary kettle chips, among others. Really? That’s just awesome. You also have the option of dining in, where there’s 20 types of beer on tap. There’s a tasting tomorrow(Friday), which starts at 7 and live music that begins later(until close). It didn’t seem like an every day type of thing, but those taps are back there. Every day. *Just an FYI, the tap room is located on the right as soon as you walk in.* It’s safe to say that Quench just earned themselves a repeat customer…
