This is review for the Sodexo Café in the Ford House building. I just bought a salad and it is old and brown. I will never buy anything except coffee there. And will someone please put a site for this café on Unilocal

I’d have to disagree with the other posters. This place is pretty decent. They’re not very heavy handed with the salt but you have to appreciate this place for what it is. It offers a wide range of healthy/dietary choices(low sodium, low fat, low carb, vegan, vegetarian, gluten free) and each item lists all ingredients and nutrition content. From the omelet bar in the morning to Huge salad bar(over twenty feet long, three types of greens, quinoa, feta, chicken, ton of other choices); rotating hot food bar which contains ethnic food(Indian to Caribbean to Italian to Asian), cooked grains, roots, and veggies; pizza bar, sandwich bar, and sushi bar at lunch. Three stars. Nothing amazing, but it serves decent food.

The food here is bland and overpriced. Fortunately most people won’t be able to get in to the cafeteria unless you are an employee or have an escort.

This is the official cafeteria for the US Food and Drug Administration. If you have an escort, you can be let into the main complex and actually eat here if you want to. This is the main cafeteria in Building 32. The Building 1 cafeteria that most visitors eat at is now an Einstein’s bagel and pizza place. This cafeteria, though, serves some of the worst food on the planet. and it is for feeding staff of the FOOD and drug administration. Ironic, isn’t it? A dish has never used salt in the history of this place, their sushi is always cooked because they don’t have the capacity to serve fresh, raw fish. I actually had food poisoning once from the *cooked* sushi because it was old/not fresh. Flavors here make no sense like boiled brussels sprouts with no seasoning, uncooked green beans dosed in oil and then heated up. pasta salad swimming in an entire can of black olive rings. Pretty much the lowest level of food there is. McDonalds is an upgrade, any Panda Wok cheap Chinese food is an upgrade. This garbage food is fed to FDA employees everyday and they have no where else to eat given the campus’ isolation. It forces employees to possibly miss meetings in order to leave campus to eat non vomit inducing food. I feel very sorry for full time employees of FDA and their gastrointestinal systems. Perhaps the only edible thing in the cafeteria is the pizza, which is made with whole wheat bread dough instead of pizza dough that gives the pizza an insane amount of gluten density whereby you can only eat one piece before feeling full. Oh yeah, all the cook to order food is hamburger and fries type stuff. Why bother? The old FDA cafeteria used to have fried chicken, kimchi, real sushi, collard greens. Very sad to see Sodexho win the catering contract for FDA. Anyone else would be better.

Overpriced! Overpriced! Overpriced! The taste was dull(generally OK, but nothing special), pretty much no service involved, but my only impression for this place is how expensive the food was. I need to spend at least $ 10 just to get full, and I don’t have a big stomach.
