The Premier

Noisy, no amenities, they nickel & dime you on move out. Better deals to be had in Silver Spring.
Lived in the Premier for over a year. Be warned, it’s noisy, especially if you face the butterfly garden. Noise travels right up & reverberates off the buildings & gets amplified. Noise comes through bathroom vent and you would swear the fire truck was in your living room & we lived on the 12^th floor. Additionally if you are unfortunate to live near an elevator you hear them all night long — our bedroom was hard to sleep in because of it. Our neighbors above dragged furniture & that noise is amplified in concrete buildings. Additionally neighbors slamming doors rattles your walls. Washing machine & dryer are so loud & located in closet off living space it drove you crazy at the end of the day to run them.
On move out, we scrubbed everything, wiped out the dishwasher, dryer, washing machine, oven but was still charged for «oven cleaning» — was told not to repair holes & we found out why — they charge you! Forgot an item in the apartment after moving out & was charged for trash removal — so be warned on move out! Moved out of Citron & the Blairs and they never charged us a dime for anything.
Management was generally accommodating but deal with the senior manager.
Thought we were okay with the lack of amenities but it really did bother us. Nice property but better deals to be had in Silver Spring so look around before signing here.

I like it here. The apartments are a decent size for what you pay and many of them have some sort of patio, which is hard to find around here. I’m in a corner unit and it’s very quiet. I never hear the neighbors from my bedroom, which is nice.
There’s a nice open deck on the 15^th floor, and a community room with big screen TVs on the 2^nd floor — that’s it for community amenities (no pool, gym, etc). There is a 24/​hr concierge that receives and disperses packages.
Parking is extra (as usual in this area), and is kind of a free-​for-​all. I really wish they would assign spaces, but that’s just my preference. I’m sure just as many people like the parking situation just the way it is. I have no clue. There are outlets by some of the spaces so you can vacuum our your car and whatnot. There’s also bike storage in the parking garage.
On-​site storage is cheap, at least right now, so that’s something to consider if you have a lot of stuff.
The building, including the parking area, are only accessible using a key fob, so that’s nice.
The apartments are all very modern, but it’s otherwise a «no frills» experience. That’s reflected in the pricing, so I don’t mind it. If it became significantly more expensive, I would probably try to find something with more amenities for the same price.
I have had some disagreements with management, but they were resolved satisfactorily. In total, I have nothing really bad to say.

I don’t write many reviews. (After going back I realize this is my first review on the site after being registered for 16 months)
We’ve lived here approaching a year and it’s been a great place to stay. The initial deal was pretty solid (two months no rent) and the rent has been reasonable.
Having a concierge ²⁴⁄₇ is helpful for the amount of packages we take in and they’ve all been pretty courteous.
The amenities are nice and where we live it’s pretty quiet.
We don’t use the lounge as frequently as we thought we’d might, but it’s a pretty cool place to hang out.
As far as the area, it’s a 5 – 7 minute walk to the metro and about the same to downtown Silver Spring. If you moved here you’d be close enough to walk to the action, but far enough not to hear it.
On occasions you do get noise near the next door parking garage, but that’s a wind tunnel and concerts from the Fillmore can occasionally have a driving crowd (however it’s usually a teenaged dropped off crowd and you really don’t hear them)
The Whole Foods near by is actually within a reasonable price range, Burger Fi is pretty great. But food options are within that 5 – 7 minute walk.
There are plenty of bus routes near, but not much bus traffic if that makes sense.
Also, we’ve had nothing but good experiences with the leasing office.
All of this is anecdotal, but I’d definitely feel that others would share the same sentiments.

I recently moved into the Premier and it has surpassed my expectations in every way. The building is brand new and very well built. FiOS is wired into each unit, not just to the building, which allows you to get business class internet from Verizon if you are willing to pay. The walls are impressively thick (solid concrete) and I have yet to hear either of my neighbors, and can’t hear anyone above or below me. My unit is very well laid out with tons of cabinet and closet space, and has a pretty nice view to the north off the balcony. Every member of the staff, from the leasing agent that worked with me while I was overseas (Victoria) to the great front desk staff (especially Laporcha) have been nothing but friendly and helpful. There is no pool here, but there is an included membership to LA Fitness which is directly next to the building. Sure parking is an extra $ 125 a month, but that is the market price for Silver Spring. I’m not sure what issues «It’s M.» has had, but they do not reflect the opinions of any of the other tenants I have spoken with.
I chose the Premier over Eleven55 Ripley, the Cameron, Portico, and Solaire for its very competitive price, location, and the outstanding leasing staff. If you are looking for an apartment in the Silver Spring area, you would be remiss to not consider the Premier.

I just moved into the The Premier. I love Unilocal and used Unilocal a lot when looking for apartments, but took a chance on this place even though it had no Unilocal reviews.
For reference, we also looked at The Citron and The Cameron apartments in downtown Silver Spring, as well.
This apartment is very much like The Citron apartments, yet I liked this location better and there is no waitlist for parking spots –like there is at The Citron. Also the move-​in deal was unbeatable and really helped with the cost of moving.
I preferred this location to The Citron, as this location is a lot less crowded and is a closer walk to the metro. Also, I have a dog that doesn’t do well in large crowds. Which is great, since this side of Colesville Road is never crowded (even on the weekends) and the sidewalks are large. This building is close to lots of parks — including the new dog park that is set to open next year, yet it is a very quick walk to downtown Silver Spring (less than 5 minutes). The building is very quiet, which I was told is due to each apartment being shielded from the neighbors by concrete walls. Which means, I never have to worry that my dog’s whining or that the washing machine, etc. is going to be a bother to my neighbors.
This is a great apartment building. While I know many are turned off by it’s lack of a pool and a fitness center. That didn’t really bother my boyfriend and I as our jobs have full gyms, and we can always use the complimentary membership to LA Fitness right next door, if we so choose.
The apartment building is upscale and offers very nicely made apartment homes. The kitchen has all Frigidaire appliances and a beautiful slate colored granite. The hardwood floors are nice, and I like that they aren’t your typical color but more of a grey tone — hides dog hair and dust better.
While the one thing, missing in my apartment is a linen closet. The shelving in the kitchen is massive. Not only do they go up to the ceiling but the island has lots of shelving underneath.
So far, I am happy with the building and plan to stay here for a long while.
Sidenote: The leasing center, while nice and pleasant, was very unorganized. There were numerous occasions where I was asked to resubmit information and sign the same forms over because they «misplaced» or didn’t receive it the first time. But, that may be to the fault of my particular leasing representative and not the office as a whole.
