Never eat here. The cooks dig in their nose with their fingers and handle your food. I saw this. I gagged.

I’ve eaten here since middle school and it’s always been the same. Food is decent for what it is and where it is. No matter who answers the phone, the tone will always be the same so don’t expect anything to change on that part. Another reason why I love this place is cause the mambo sauce is just perfect to me. –1 star only cause of the ordering with the employee interaction.

I don’t know why all the 1-star reviews. Sure the dude that answers the phone is rude, but so what. The food is legit(although I’ve only ever ordered wings). They deliver fast and the delivery girl is very nice. Wing Wah, you alright.

A guy in the back was chopping veggies just now, dropped some on the floor and picked them up and continued chopping them… gross. Kid at the front counter is super rude. I can’t be the first to notice it… bleh, not coming back

Wing Wah has been around since I’ve lived in Colesville(over 20 years). It’s decent American style Chinese food at decent prices. You get good portion sizes too. If you’re ordering a chicken dish I would strongly suggest requesting white meat for the additional fee(the meat is super good if you do this). I normally stick with things like the General Tso’s Chicken or Sesame Chicken. But their other dishes are also good. Egg rolls are decent. I believe this place has changed management a bunch over the years but the quality is pretty steady. If you are looking for more premium Chinese food you might be advised to try Indochine Express a bit father north along New Hampshire Ave in Cloverly… but your wallet should be prepared! In Colesville your family is either a Wing Wah family or a China Dynasty Family. More recently there is also Noodle King as well. They are all pretty standard but I have a clear favorite… If you go in expecting pretty standard not amazing Chinese food you’ll be happy. Don’t expect a nice sit down place(it’s mainly just a take out place). If you keep your expectations in check you’ll be fine — it’s a good Chinese place.

The worst place to eat Chinese food. I always have to wait 30 minutes to get my food. One time, I ordered delivery around 10:30pm and did not get my food until 12am. ANDTHEGUYASKEDFOR A TIP!! Their quality of food sucks and the 10 yr old kid has the nerve to charge extra for crushed red pepper, even after ordering $ 15 – 20 worth of food. I would rather go across the street to Wendy’s or even 7 Eleven if I was that hungry but I, for sure, will never return here again. I

Not good. The prices are cheap, but you get what you pay for. We called ahead for pickup and the food was prepared pretty quickly. When we showed up, there was a kid at the register. We told him what we ordered(egg rolls, beef fried rice, orange chicken, and beef and broccoli), he rang it up, we paid, and left. When we arrived back home, ready to eat, we opened the carryout containers and found our egg rolls and several containers of fried rice with fried chicken… Maybe it was my fault for not checking the order before we left. I called the restaurant, the kid picked up the phone, I explained to him that I was just there to pick up our order and we got the wrong food. He responded that he thought we checked the food before we left. He said to bring the food back if we wanted our order, so we did. We gave the containers back and he brought our food out. This time, he opened the containers and showed us our correct order. Then, the kid had the nerve to charge me the difference of what our order was(the fried rice/fried chicken was ~$ 30 while our original order was ~$ 35). Just based on principle and the inconvenience of driving back and forth to fix their mistake, I think they could’ve had better customer service and let the few dollars difference go. The food? The fried rice smelled funny and tasted off — the closest taste that came to mind was«soapy.» There was also bits of shrimp in the BEEF fried rice. The orange chicken — the batter coating was so thick that there was hardly any chicken. The beef and broccoli was ok, but the sauce was on the watery side. Finally, the egg rolls — there was a plastic bag inside one of the egg rolls. I will not be returning to Wing Wah.

The 10 year old who answers the phone is pretty damaging to their business, then their prices and menu descriptions do not match what they give and charge you for. I had a problem and talked to the manager who told me «it’s not my restaurant so it’s not my problem. The food is getting worse and worse over the years. I don’t even go anymore after such bad experiences.

Solid Chinese take-out. They’ll let you eat inside if you keep it in the bag. Kind of weird, but it beat having to eat in the car. Reasonably priced(got kung pao 3 delight with a bottle of soda for under $ 10), good lunch fix

Love the food, but even when you order for pickup, you still have to wait about 10 — 15 minutes when you arrive to pick it up.

So I’ve eaten their food numerous times. The management changed, and the friendly woman wasn’t there tonight, and when I called to get chicken and brocolli dinner with brown rice the man on the other end made it a big deal to cook brown rice like it would take soooo long. So I said forget it, I’ll take fried. Get there, pick it up, drive 10 minutes home all excited and happy to get my chinese in, open it up, and ITSMELLSLIKEFISH! It literally smelled like it was cooked wherever the fish was cooked. I took one bite and spit it out. Thousands of people get food poisoning everyday and this wasn’t gonna be me! So I call the man. Tell him I don’t want it, he asks why I tell him it smells like fish. He insists it wasn’t cooked where the fish was and that it was steamed. Well tell me if it was steamed why did it have all this soy sauce and stuff all over it, like it was stirr-fried??? it was stirr fried in where fish was! I told him, listen I don’t want an exchange I just want my money back. He tells me okay okay. Come in and just give him my credit card and my receipt and give him«the look.» He made me sign another receipt so hopefully that was accredited and not charged again. I will check again in two days if its still on there… I’m gonna be one mad girl. CONSUMERCONSUMINGCHINESEFOODHEREBEWARE!

The General Tso chicken tasted like it was fried in garlic oil. The chicken lo mein came with vegetables that looked they should’ve been thrown out days ago so the presentation was awful. Then the crab rangoons were sweet. Like they mixed crème cheese and crab meat and added condensed milk. Just not reasonable.

If I could do less than 1 star, then I would. Portions are big, food is mediocre Chinese fast food, but it was fast, somewhat cheap, and close-by. We had ordered from WIng Wah often, because our lifestyle is a bit crazy. But NEVERAGAIN! The lady on the phone is alwyas really. really rude. They make you feel as if they are doing you a favor, and that you are just supposed to suck it up and take it. While the food is mediocre, their attitude and their mistakes are ridiculous. They charged us $ 500.00 dollars by mistake, instead of $ 50.00, and then wouldn’t refund, said they couldn’t do anything, which is total BS. We have overdraft alerts, so we tried to cancel the order, but they wouldn’t cancel, and they wouldn’t do anything at all. They never even said they were sorry. They made us wait for several days to work it out, and WE had to call the bank and get it fixed. They offered NOHELPATALL– It caused us to overdraw our account, and they would not pay the fees incurred. THEN, they kept calling us, saying that they had not done anything wrong. THEN– and this REALLYPISSEDMEOFF– they came to our house to try and talk to us. THISISNOTACCEPTABLE! About three days later, we found a ‘gift certificate’ in our mailbox. For $ 10.00. After we had racked up over $ 100.00 in overdraft fees, which Wing Wah said was ‘not their fault.“ Just wow– and not in a good way.

This area in general isn’t known for it’s stellar Chinese food. But for a long time, we’d go to Wing Wah, because while it wasn’t awesome, it was good enough to scratch the itch. Not on any more. I got the orange beef. I’m still not 100% sure what was in my food. It wasn’t beef. It was mainly breading and sauce. I even dissected a piece, looking for the meat. No luck. My husband’s General Tso’s chicken fared better. It was only about 90% breading. We found a tiny morsel of chicken inside. Both of these dishes were in the $ 10 price range. There’s not any reason to get cheated like this. Time to move onto someplace new.

Ordered carryout. Food prepared in about 15 minutes. Usual brown sauce with all dishes. Nothing fantastic but edible. Chicken, beef and shrimp were OK. Dishes were filled to the top. Crab Rangoon were not what I have seen at other establishments; wouldn’t get again. Wouldn’t go out of my way to go there but if in the area and wanted Chinese, OK to visit.

back in high school, we used to always order from wing wah. and it sucked. big time. no matter what you ordered — szchezuan chicken, beef and broccoli, mooshoo whatevers — it always came in the same goopy overly salty brown sauce. at some point, they changed cooks… and the food got good and tasty. like the sesame chicken was perfectly spicy, sweet and tangy — not just salty and goopy. so since then, wing wah has been a solid choice for chinese takeout when i’m in the sprung. it usually only takes about 15 minutes for a called-in order to be ready for pickup, and the prices are standard. this was also the first place i ever had the classic dc urrea fried chicken wings and fried rice. with mambo sauce. gotta love it.

So when I lived in Alexandria, VA I started a competition to find the best crab rangoons in the area. I succeeded rather quickly with that quest! Sadly the quest isn’t going so well in Silver Spring… So we’ve been living in Silver Spring for almost a month now and have had dinner from here 3 times– that says a lot! R’s dad found this spot the night we moved in and loved it. The fact that they give you enough food to last a couple of days as well as the taste/quality definitely bolstered his opinion of this place. The first time we ordered I had the beef lo mein and the crab rangoons. The lo mein was among the best I’ve had in a long time. I don’t recall ever getting that much beef in my lo mein either– and it was delicious! The rangoons weren’t that great. They were kinda salty and just not exactly my cup of tea. R had the lemon chicken and plain fried rice– he loved it. He normally doesn’t like Chinese take-out because he always thinks it’s tastes fishy and he’s not down with seafood. This wasn’t the case here. R’s dad has had the kung po chicken and hot and sour soup each time he’s been here and he’s been a happy camper each time. Last night I didn’t feel like cooking so we ordered from here again. I tried the pork dumplings, steak on a stick and roast pork fried rice. A family of 4 could have stuffed themselves on the amount of food I received! It was all delicious. I’m still craving more of the steak on a stick and the roast pork fried rice was tremendous! R had his lemon chicken and plain fried rice again. So glad we have an awesome option for Chinese take out! Can’t wait to have it again.

The amount of food you get from this place borders on sheer insanity. They will fill the takeout container until it’s next to bursting. As my sister said, «I can order a shrimp lo-mein and actually get some shrimps!» This time we got steamed dumplings, hot and sour soup, crispy eggplant, moo shu pork, and chicken in black bean sauce. The soup was not spicy and was really thick, like gelatinous goopy. For the moo shu pork, they gave us these really thin egg roll/lumpia wrappers. I thought the filling was a bit too salty. I like that they package the eggplant and sauce in separate containers so it doesn’t get soggy. The clear winners for this dinner was the eggplant and chicken in black bean sauce. The dumplings were okay – I wouldn’t mind reordering them again but they were not especially memorable. I can totally see myself ordering food from here again and again whenever I’m too lazy to cook.
