I have been a patient of Dr. Christen’s for over ten years now. I am also a birth doula and have attended births with Dr. Christen over that time, in support of our shared client.
Having had two children under his watchful eye and being an advocate for women, I highly recommend Dr. Christen to any client looking for birth with a provider who respects her as an individual, who does not want to put her through unnecessary examinations before or during the birth, and who inherently believes in her ability to give birth to her baby.
I have seen Dr. Christen give his clients (including me) his full attention for as long was needed for her to feel that she understood what was being suggested, that she’d had her questions answered fully, and that she was choosing for herself, rather than being ushered into a decision she wasn’t behind, and didn’t fully understand.
I refer any of my clients looking for an unfussed-​with hospital birth to Dr. Christen and appreciate very much the options he offers women in our county — the type of care that sticks to science, reduction of risk, and treating women like human beings.
