One of the better commissary’s ive been to. The selection is huge, and they keep this place laid out nicely. I’ve never seen this place very low in stocks, even after some people go crazy couponing. Which by the way this place supposedly doesn’t give you a hard time about. Soo anyways, the commissary gets a bad wrap for people talking about how its terrible but seriously this place saves you money, like alot of money and the quality of the products arn’t even comparable. I would lay out prices for you and prove the point. Lastly is the meat, this people is where your going to save. Meat at the commissary is cheap. Like dirt cheap. Like what are you doing at Safeway cheap? Just don’t come here on a Monday because they are closed.

Does anyone work there? One side of the store has employees the other side doesn’t. Try getting help, it’s hard to find someone. Commissary used to be a good option for military families with tight budgets. But I guess those days are long gone. Every things name brand at a name brand price, the only discount I seem to be able to find is no TAX! But when I go into town and get the same item for less, I’ll pay the tax. I agree with above poster that the produce is sub-par at best. And I’ve been on three bases in two years.(I’ve not used Bremerton yet.) I’m finding that all of them have bad produce, so the bigger question is. Why would the military choose to give us problematic, disgusting, low rent produce? From Virginia to Washington state? This isn’t just one sector with a bad Regional Manager or something, someone way up there somewhere is allowing the buyers and vendors to sell us crap, while maintaining normal prices. I think between lost discounts(You can fins sources online that explain, the discounts are long gone, because they asked for 100 million less, and to cut cost, tossed our discounts out the window.) and bad produce, and stores that seem to be filled with a family of workers.(because seriously Silverdale appears to have hired an entire family.) Times are-a-changing!

For commissaries, this is the WORST I have ever been to. It does not have a good selection and their meat prices are HIGHER than off base.

We tried shopping here for the first few weeks that we lived on Bangor, but stopped. The produce selection is slim, and the quality is bad. Every piece of produce we have ever bought from there has gone bad withing 2 – 3 days — and I don’t mean a little on the wilted side, I mean BAD. The meat selection is also poor. We only go here if we’re out of coffee or baby wipes.

It’s a commissary so don’t expect anything overly fancy. Pros: zero sales tax, reasonable prices, and more-than-satisfactory variety of goods.

Meh, it’s the commissary. Nothing spectacular but definitely a win for low-price groceries on base! P. S. This place is not open to the general public since it’s inside a military base. You must have military/military dependent ID and shopping privileges to purchase items.
