Vegetarian options are phenomenal and do not miss out on the baked goods! Quick, friendly service. We had the butternut squash, pear, curry soup and a Thai wrap. Perfect combo only enhanced by the decadent pecan pie bar for dessert.

This place is a joke, coffee and food prices are high for what you get. Burritos are premade and not worth your taste buds. Ruben is poorly done, meat is chunky over cooked and dry, nowhere close to a Ruben. Portions are small. Now, Americano wise, we went there 3 different days and amount of shots you get in the large Americano changed every time, yet I always paid $ 3.75, go figure… Service is very poor and slow, 10 – 15 min for 1 Americano with two customers in the shop?! The place is kind of like a hippy bar. Will never go back, it’s not worth my money nor my time.

Visited this comfortable, relaxing place today. How was this place selected? They are dog friendly on the patio! We had White Out(a Belgium type Beer), Treasure Mountain(pale ale), plus the house IPA(sorry not the one I drank so I cannot remember the name). We all enjoyed our beverage of choice! Only a little disappointed that the did not have their house porter beer but gives us a reason to visit again! We also had their pizza. Which is OUTSTANDING! In case you are curious, they were the Hot Chola and the Mediterranean Pizzas.

The beer is delicious, the food is superb and the beer is amazing. Their patio is incredible and they are dog friendly. What else could you ask for?!?

This is a great place to get some coffee and a small breakfast item. Do not go looking for an experience or special cuisine.

Chicken Thai wrap hit the spot. BLT was also good. Pale ale was slightly hoppy and very clean. Too early to sample pizza. Staff is pleasant and committed to good service.

The interior of Avalanche is kind of like a wannabe hipster city coffee shop more than a brewery, and that’s not a compliment at all. They only had three of there own brews on draft plus PBR. Didn’t really care for their whit beer but the pale ale was standard faire. As for food, they do some pizzas but the wraps are where it’s at.

I would so a 3.5 if I could. This place is tiny. They claim to be vegan friendly, but didn’t have any tofu(protein). The beer and food was good once we got served. It had a nice ambiance and bartender.

Worst place I’ve been to in a long time. I would expect a lot more out of a local place like this. The pizza tasted like it came out of a frozen package, the«award winning chili» was watered down and not very flavorful, the wrap was lackluster at best and the lack of service was mediocre.

Small place but the avocado wrap was delicious. My parents had the ham and Brie but they were out of Brie. The corn chowder was good as was the cornbread. Definitely tasted homemade. Happy we stopped in. Oh yeah, bus your own tables and fill your own drinks. Can’t attest to the beer.

What a pleasure to walk into this tiny bar and restaurant and not feel like they are only interested in how fast they can get my tourist dollars. Very welcoming atmosphere with friendly staff and cheerful ski-based décor. Several vegetarian options were available, happily, and I had the delicious Mexican butternut squash soup, my husband enjoyed the Southwest Turkey on toasted sourdough. My soup came with gluten-free cornbread which was yummy. I don’t need gluten-free food, and was surprised to find this was good, to be honest! We will be going back for their breakfast tomorrow since there are some intriguing options.

Came here while vacationing, beer was great and food was decent. Only gripe and what ruined it for me was the staff. Seemed annoyed that tourist would come in and ask what’s good on the menu. Then somebody else in the kitchen making snide comments if you didn’t pronounce something the way they would have. I figured for a town who’s economy relies on tourism might display a little better hospitality towards a tourist. I’m trying to give you my money, don’t belittle me in the process.

Walked here after coming from Montanya. Small on the inside, but has decent food selection and of course the beer was great, I really enjoyed the White-Out Whit and some apple and ham pizza. Though, the employees seemed annoyed that tourists like myself and my boyfriend were coming in and were simply inquiring about what was good on their menu. Come on, give a little more effort than that if we are paying customers. Even if we are tourists.

Loved the place from the moment I walked in, and then I got my drink and my food. If they could somehow make a more exciting breakfast burrito and some edible ‘pumpkin bread’ they’d have something going. Coffee was average if that.

I went for the beer, but happened to go around lunchtime so ate food as well. They only had two in-house microbrews, both of which were average. The food was sub-par(bland sandwiches and wraps) and the service was truly horrible(rude and latent staff).

No pizza till 3. What kind of business pushes beer & pizza & then cuts out their pizza during the busiest time(during the time that 3 entire trains full of their target market floods your town)? Server was short & rude. Definitely did not want to discuss. Their microbrew is meh. Not good not terrible. Will order a pbr next visit(if after 3)

Stopped in by chance for a cold one and something to eat. It’s kind of a self serve place where the silver and bussing are done by yourself. No problem here however. Everything is home made from what I was told from someone later on. They brew their own beers and the Pride of the West Porter was some of the best porter we ever had!!! My wife also tried a Hot White Russian type drink and loved it. The drink choices were creative and had the cute descriptions that she loves and has to try. We decided on the Neopolitano pizza. OMG. The favors were awesomely fresh and worked SO well together. Must have been that home made pesto sauce… Then comes the crust. It was done to perfection. Perfect firmness, perfect chewiness, perfect all around texture. I rate this piece of artistic creation as in the top echelon of pizza experiences I have ever had. I can not believe I had to go to Silverton Colorado to find it. Upon talking to the pizzaiolo, the dough is indeed made in house along with other ingredients.(Like I thought different?) He then offered me a slice of a green chili sauce based pizza with sausa fresca and things I can’t remember except that the favors were well married and the thing was outta this world!(I AM a green chili lover at heart) There is also a chalk board with tons of creative caffeine drinks and other items. Definitely worth a try. You can’t miss the place because the fence surrounding the patio is made up of old and colorful snow skis. Just another tribute to the creativity born in this place.

Avalanche Café is a must stop if you’re visiting Silverton. If you live in Silverton, it should be a regular haunt. Before leaving Silverton, I convinced my clan to stop in at the Avalanche for breakfast. BEST.DECISION.EVER. I ordered a vanilla latte. One of the best lattes I’ve ever had. The burritos might have been pre-made, but they were amazing. Mine was loaded with a scrambled eggs, bacon, onion, and cheese, all topped off with a green hot sauce. YUM! My sister got a blueberry smoothie, which was filled to overflowing, and topped off with whipped cream. It looked like it was about to avalanche! The hot chocolate was really good too. This place knows how to do drinks! Their pastries were average, and a little bit dry for my liking. I think my favorite part about this café is the atmosphere. There is a gorgeous copper bar that is right by the register. We sat at it, and could see the barista working, and see the food being prepared in the kitchen. There is a decent amount of other indoor seating, and a ton of outdoor and patio seating. The service was prompt, and the staff worked efficiently and while playfully bantering. Breakfast and a show.

Was excited to try the breakfast pizza and breakfast burritos. After ordering I found out that they premake the food and then heat it up. Really bummed! The smoothie was good though as was the lemon bar. Won’t be back.
