Best food !!! Always extremely nice. They deliver which is so helpful. Everything is great. Love the broccoli chicken, egg flower soup.

Lunch special $ 8 small Kung Pao, good food!

First time at Happy Jing, I think it’s the strip mall location that had put me off a visit before but get over it! We were greeted quickly, the restaurant is clean and bright and we were promptly shown a table. Huge menu and it took a while to browse. We ordered a sushi appetizer which was made to order and very good. Dinner came with two soup options and some delicious pickled vegetables. Food arrived quickly, was hot, well prepared and better than I had expected. Portions are big! The fried shrimp batter was light and tasty, no oily residue. We loved it!

I love this place. It’s the genuine article. We’ve tried a bunch of different things here, and they’ve all been good. The people are nice and they bring the food pretty quickly. Full disclosure: this is the only Chinese place is Silverton, so there aren’t a lot of options. But I live in Silverton and work in Salem, and I prefer this place over most of the ones in Salem.
And as a side, I think of this place as an example of the American Dream come true. No, honestly! The owners are a family, and they work here — I don’t think anyone here is just an employee. You can tell they immigrated here and work hard and late. I like the idea of supporting a family, and not just some business.

Well the food was good except for their Chow Mein (not sure the noodle type and tasted weird, not the chow mein I’ve eaten before) and they have HIGH prices for the quality of food!!! We just moved to Silverton from SF Bayarea and have eaten chow mein from all over the bayarea and thiers is nothing I’ve seen or eaten before, if they changed their way of preparing their chow mein and maybe change prices then I probably will only get our Chinese food from this place in Mt. Angel (Happy Garden) now they have VERY good food and reasonable prices!!!

They do not listen to their customers. We called in two separate orders. They ran my friends card for my order. (which was cheaper) We tried to get them to charge the remaining $ 5.05 so that my friend had paid for their order in full and then of course I wanted to pay for my order separately.
The woman seemed to not understand the request. Which I find as quite rude. Since we had no problem paying for our food, just please let us decide how we are appropriating the funds to be dispersed. Then she went and got a guy. He voided the first charge without even trying to understand what was going on. The entire time I was telling him that we just wanted to run my friend’s card to pay for the rest of his order. (keep in mind that at this time, my friend’s card was approved and signed for the majority of his order, he was at this time, trying to pay the remaining amount.)
Well… Once they voided the first transaction, the card wasn’t approved for the full amount when they tried to re-​run it. Aside from them not listening, the guy actually told me that I NEVER said to just run the card for the remaining amount. I told him that I had said something ten times and that it not what was at debate. I wasn’t giving them anymore money for their mistake. They chose to argue with me as my food was sitting there getting cold and already paid for. And then lied to my face to make themselves feel better. THIS PLACE IS NOT HAPPY.
Summary
1.) They will lie to your face
2.) They don’t listen
3.) They don’t have any respect for you or that it’s your money that you are using to pay with. If you go, take cash.
I pretty much told them that’s it’s their bad. We had no problem paying them, we never asked them to void the transaction, and called them out for choosing to argue over something that was their mistake while my food was getting cold. The guy reluctantly let us leave with our orders but they were butt-​hurt that they give my friend his order for free.

The food is very good compared to most standard Chinese restaurants. We were the only ones there at 5:30 PM on a Monday. The waiter was friendly, took our order, and returned with our food promptly. I have to mark them down a star because once our food was delivered, I only saw the waiter once and he never offered me a refill on my drink other than the water.

This was one of the most sub-​par dining experiences I have ever had. The waitstaff basically ignored us our entire meal. We were waved into the dining room and told «booth.» Sat there for a few minutes before a menu was brought out. 2 seconds later (we hadn’t even opened the menus yet) and «You ready?» was asked.
We decided on meals and the waitress came back and took our order for food and disappeared. We were NEVER once offered drinks. Someone came out of the kitchen and hurriedly placed glasses of water in front of us, but no other choices were given and the water contained no ice.
The food was edible. Not wonderful, not inedible, but certainly not memorable either. I can not even remember what I ate because I was so disgruntled at the way we had been treated. And let me say that the restaurant was not busy so it was not like the waitress was waiting on hundreds of other customers. There were about 3 other couples in there.
In time the check was thrown down on the table. No eye contact was made, no «How was your dinner?» nothing. By this time I just wanted out. Took the check up to the register and waited. Waited some more… stood there for a couple minutes before we were noticed.
I will not go back there.
