Hy-Vee Food Stores

Who would of thought you could have a great grocery store that had an equally great restaurant and bar — especially here in the «we hate change and anything new» Midwest. I went in just to see what was up after some grocery shopping and was really pleasantly surprised. Friday night specials were super and the maple/​bacon wantons were terrific. Manager came buy to see how I was doing and ask about service and food which was a nice touch. Don’t be fooled by this being in a grocery store — go — eat — enjoy!

This is the worse Hy-​Vee store there is. They won’t open a new lane no matter how many are in line. Employees stand around talking to themselves and walk away when customers ask for help. After standing in line for quite some time, the check out guy told me to go to another land because he was closing. So Hy-​Vee, I was the person who left the cart full of groceries and walked out. Sorry but your people just don’t care about customers.

Tried to shop there yesterday, (Ive been there 8 times before)
When Attempted to have them price match a competitors price on an item, they said they don’t do that and they won’t do that .
Well they need to get everyone on the same page, because They have indeed done it before on three occasions, otherwise why would I drive 12 miles shop there?
Oh well, you can pay people to ring stuff up, or you can pay people to restock it, its up to you. There is nothing in your store that we can’t get elsewhere, your not exclusive in anyway .
So you just made up my mind for me when I am making a choice, on where to shop.
And this attitude of «We are employee owned «we don’t have to do anything we don’t want too! has gotten really really old, as well.
I take the elderly neighbors grocery shopping, I watched a guy in the produce section yapping it up for 35 minutes with his buddies and checking out the hotties, and oh he did put two heads of red leaf lettuce on the shelf. there goes your profit sharing in to the terlate.
I won’t mind driving to to four of the other grocery stores in the area.

Walking into this hyvee made me feel like i time traveled into the 1980’s.
The layout of this «old type» store really threw me off… so much i failed at getting groceries… I will not be returning.
