Dr. Malan is an excellent health care provider. As a registered nurse, I hold providers to a very high standard as I work in the health care industry myself. I was extremely impressed by his level of professionalism and genuine regard for my mom and brother. We came to evaluate my mom’s hearing as I thought, at almost 70, she might need hearing aides. Dr. Malan even offered to look into my brother’s ears as they were bothering him. After he cleaned out both my mom and my brother’s ears, he used some high tech device and a sound booth to measure my mom’s hearing — both in regards to sounds, tones and even with background noise. At the end, he showed us on a computer, the results from her test. He *actually* told us that my mom would *not* need hearing aids after all. What? No attempt to sell us something we dont need?! Amazing! AND he told us that it looked like my brother had an ear infection. He is honest and has an excellent bedside manner as well as a great sense of humor. I am VERY impressed by Dr. Malan and his team (who were all very nice) and highly recommend them to anyone who wants to get their hearing checked or wants more information about hearing aides.

We are soooo happy we found dr Malan for our baby girls hearing aid, wonderful doctor and staff felt very welcomed, I would recommend without hesitation to anyone we are 2 very happy parents without a doubt !

Dr. John is an incredibly audiologist. He went above and beyond to solve our concerns. I also really liked his office. It looks like he keeps up with new technology. Overall, I give his work ten stars.

Can’t add a lot to what the other reviewers have said. Bottom line, Dr John Malan is someone who, in addition to his many other stellar qualities, can be trusted. That is sadly not the case with many of the other audiologists. Given that a large number of hearing aid consumers tend to be elderly, and many with perhaps poorer ability to scrutinize terms, representations, etc, there seem to be plenty of hearing aid sellers whose practices are unseemly, to say the least. There must be a lot of money to be made with those methods if you have the stomach for it, I guess. It does, however, make people like Dr Malan truly exceptional and tells me there are still such people with integrity if you look for them.

I would give Dr John Malan 10 stars if I could. Dr Malan is so professional yet has a heart the size of Texas. I have never met a Doctor who cares so much about his patients.
My friend is 93 and can hardly hear. Dr. Malan came to the nursing home and did everything needed to get her fitted with amazing hearing aids. She can hear and loves it.
We will forever be grateful to him.

This is my first time getting a hearing aid. I fought going for many years until I felt it could improve my life. I visited a large discount retailer and had my ears tested. They had a good price for a very small unit but not what I really wanted. I wanted to get a second opinion.
I called two other hearing aid stores in Simi Valley. One had me on hold for over 10 minutes and I hung up and the other I left a message on VM and did not get a call back. I drove by Dr Malan office well at the Simi Town Center and stopped by. The office is very clean and modern.
Linda at the from desk was very helpful and followed up with a call the next day. I had a test from Dr Malan and liked his personality plus his testing was much more extensive than the discount retailer. He spent time listening to my concerns. Showed me an aid that fit my lifestyle. The price was more but his service is well worth it. I figured I wanted the best unit that I would feel comfortable with since I would be wearing it 7 days a week. He answered all my questions and said I would be seeing him a few a times a year for check ups and maintenance. Having a good relationship with my medical professional is important for me.
I also liked that he volunteered his time in Africa helping children with hearing lost. I would highly recommend visiting Dr Malan when you look for an audiologist.

Dr. Malan is the best audiologist I’ve ever been to. He spends the time necessary to make sure that my hearing aids are optimized to be as efficient as possible. He’s knowledgeable, professional, friendly and great to interact with. I’m very satisfied with Dr. Malan and his office, and I always know I’m in the best hands whenever I make an appointment to see him.

I have seen many audiologists over the years and they have all been good. However, I think Dr. Malan is exceptional. I have seen Dr. Malan for a variety of issues related to my hearing aids purchased elsewhere. When you first come to his office, you may have made contact by phone. His Office Manager, Linda, is very helpful on the phone and strives to get you the appointment that is best for you. When you arrive she is equally welcoming and makes you feel comfortable immediately. Dr. Malan typically will greet you even before he sees you for your appointment. He uses the latest technology to assist you and ensures that you understand what he is doing. He is not in the business for the money and displays a passion for helping his patients through his demeanor. His prices are very fair for the amount of work that he puts into your appointment.
