This Costco is super convenient and located right near me but unfortunately I’m going to another Costco 10 miles away just to not have to deal with the Costco Simi Valley’s Optometry’s extremely rude front desk. I shared my experience with someone else in the community and they said they also had a similar experience. The folks at the eyeglass’ counter, however, are really great and I wish I could give a separate review just for them. I’ve always had a great experience with them.

Awesome service. Great prices on frames and lenses. I even went by for an eye exam on Sunday without an appointment. They took me immediately and I ordered my glasses within the hour: cool lenses for $ 45.00, progressive lenses with sun darkening. Total: 95.00(insurance is VSP).

Dr. Nguyen gave a very accurate exam and was friendly. They accept mostly private insurance, but do double check. Open for booking most days and times. The doctors should know about insurance since they are in charge overall. The Costco Optical staff is very knowledgeable and friendly too. –I’ll Be Back

Be aware of which doctor sees you at the Simi Valley Costco Optical Department. My wife saw a doctor there who never asked her if she had insurance and wouldn’t accept the insurance we have. They took the $ 400+ from her immediately… A few weeks later, I went to the Costco Optical Department in the Pacoima store. The doctor asked me right away if I had insurance. He was very glad to hear it and he advised that he took our insurance. Use caution with Optometrists and Costco Stores that are in their careers for JUSTTHEMONEY and not for the customer service. The doctor, Dr Ngugen, was very rude to me when I asked a question regarding appointments. Just because it says«Costco», don’t always assume they are professional and customer service oriented.
