I would not recommend this place unless you’re looking for out of the ordinary Chinese food. They didn’t have a lot on the menu that I recognized. The chicken in a sizzling pot was disgusting. Chopped up dark meat in a overpowering brown fishy tasting sauce. Yuck…

Great service! We arrived here 5 min after their closing time and they still accommodated us. They didn’t hurry us up on ordering and they even provided free dessert at the end of our meal. The combination fried-rice and dragon balls were delicious.

Went to Peking Duck for the first time tonight. It was me and my wife and we had been meaning to check this place out since it opened earlier this year. We read some reviews and saw that you have to order the peking duck in advance, so we called and a polite lady answered and let us know the duck would be ready in about an hour and half. When we arrived the people were polite and sat us by one of the windows. There was a few other couples there when we arrived and several more arrived during our meal so it was pretty busy by the time we left. We probably ordered too much, but we wanted to try out the food, as the menu has A LOT of dishes. There are many dishes that you do not normally find in a normal high street US style chinese restaurant, and the selection was really interesting. We tried some appetizers, and a plate of beef noodles while our duck was being prepared. The noodles were fantastic with lots of fresh vegetables and the beef was tender and flavorful. Everything tasted fresh. When our duck came over a young lady that was serving us helped show how to assemble the little duck pancakes. They were delicious, and really filling. The duck tasted just like duck should taste like, it has a stonger flavor than chicken and really went well with the onions, cucumber, sauce and pancakes. We totally underestimated how much food we received and were totally stuffed by the end of the meal. After the duck they brought over some bowls of coconut milk tapioca melon desert. We had never tried this before and it was really refreshing. My wife is usually pretty conservative in trying new food(duck is a new food to her), and she really liked the meal and grabbed a to go menu as we left. The couple on the table behind us were ordering extra food to take home with them! The staff here was really friendly and helpful and we will be back agin.

Had the peking duck 3 ways, really good. Also got the spicy fish soup not sure what the actual name of the dish was but it was also really good. If you want authentic Chinese food look no further. Definitely will be back for more.

Great to find authentic Chinese food in Ventura county. No need to drive to the valley for Peking duck and my favorite Chinese spicy food. Nice décor also.

Finally authentic Chinese food in Simi Valley. This is the second time my family has eaten here. The first time we didn’t call in advance enough to order Peking duck so for our second visit we called ahead. Turned out to be a blessing because we got to order and try several fantastic dishes we might not have the first time around. Our favorites were the oyster mushrooms, pork belly dish and dragon balls. Trust me, they’re delicious. Second time back we reordered favorites and got the Peking duck, which was great — not a spec was left over. Overall both meals were fantastic and our family will be returning for more.

Eaten here twice since they opened and had great food and great experiences both times! I’ve tried the green beans, mu shu pork, salt & pepper fish, combination noodle and peking pork strip, and everything was delicious. It’s hard to pick a favorite from all of those so far, and I will definitely keep coming back to try other menu items! Really great authentic Chinese food in Simi.

I wish this business the best of luck staying open in this tough location! Pros: The food was flavorful, we were satisfied when we left, and had leftovers to spare. Hot and Sour soup was delicious along with the Mongolian beef(Sizzling Beef on their menu). Cons: As a first timer here, we didn’t quite understand the menu. Staff wasn’t too helpful at first, took a little encouraging and telling them three times it was our first time. No «dinner» menu per se, just a menu so not your typical Chinese place. Food was on the greasy side. My girl wanted duck, apparently you have to call an hour ahead of time if you want the duck :-((The spicy shrimp with red pepper, waste… the pepper is sprinkled on after cooking, there was nothing spicy or flavorful about the actual battered shrimp unless you were particular in getting some pepper on your shrimp before picking up with your chop sticks. Overall: We’ll be back, for the duck, now we know you have to call ahead for it. Probably the kind of place I’ll visit once per year, likely not more often.

I’m amazed that to find such delicious and authentic tasting Chinese Szechuan cuisine here! Their spicy dishes really hit the spot but make sure you ask for medium spicy if you are not a spicy eater. We came here with a big party of 20 to celebrate Chinese New Year and they took very good care of us throughout the meal. They were informative and helpful for our vegetarian guests. The menu is a bit confusing and disorganized and the service can be a slow when it’s busy but they are very friendly and helpful when you ask for help. Highly recommended for lovers of Chinese good, especially if the spicy variety!

I was happy that they were able to accommodate our group of 15 people with good service. We did not have an issue here even with such a large party and our vegetarian friend was very happy with the vegetarian options. They refilled our water and tea regularly, weren’t hovering around us and were happy to provide extra bowls etc if we asked for them. Their spicy dishes are on the spicy side but that’s how I prefer my food. The food was flavor, fresh, and well cooked. The menu is confusing so I recommend asking the waiter which dishes he recommends if you have a hard time deciding.

Got to go food for lunch. Ordered Kung Pao Chicken with Hot & sour soup and steamed rice. Kind of pricey for what you get. The soup was hot(heat) and spicy. Not very flavorful, but not bad. Before I could start on the KPC my coworker asked if he could try it. He ate two or three bites and said it was OK. I took one bite and I could tell the chicken was bad. Didn’t eat any more of it. Next thing I know my coworker is in complaining about stomach ache. Just from the one bite I took I started getting acid reflux and feeling like I got food poisoning. Based on this experience we will NEVER go back.

This place is less than a mile away from us so we were glad to see it open up. There are a lot of Thai restaurants around here, but no real authentic Chinese restaurant. My wife and I stopped by last week Tuesday and we took home a whole bunch of plates. The bottom line is that they’re not as sophisticated as your traditional Chinese restaurant where they have a huge menu and can cook every dish to perfection. So what that translates to is that the dishes that they know how to make are outstanding, whereas other dishes are not so good. Incredibly nice proprietors and they’re very pleasant. However, I would’ve been happier here had they told me to stick with their specialties. We’re going to go back to try their duck, but as they suggest we need to order at least an hour earlier.

Went into Peking Duck the other night late. I was the only one there with my friend and the place felt baron even tho they just opened. The service was super welcoming to us as we sat down and got both tea and water. The menu, like almost everyone else here as pointed out, is ridiculously confusing. It seems to have no order, and is really almost comically bad. That being said, most of the stuff on the menu is not your traditional American Chinese affair, and as such I imagine that might hurt them as a lot of people are scared to try some of the dishes. I know my friend was and as such we ended up ordering Tangerine Chicken and Kung Pao Chicken. We also got forks too because they only had chopsticks on the table. The kung pao was really good actually, I enjoyed the unique sauce even if it was non standard and a bit less spicy than I would have liked. The Tangerine chicken had a good flavor, but the chunks of chicken were really large and kind of hard to eat as a result. I wish that they were smaller and more manageable. I think I will be back, but I am scared for their future

I’m one for a good Chinese restaurant. My wife and I usually go to a quick stop to get our noodles on and the same olé chicken stuff. We watched as this place went from«coming soon» to «now open.» So we decided to try it. The menu was a little confusing. I did not know where to look and when the waitress came ’round I felt sort of rushed. The waitress was nice, but made me feel as if I had to order right then, even thought she asked if we were ready. The menu, as I stated was a little confusing and I feel as if I am pretty well read when it comes to menus. I looked for the soups and low and behold, they were on the back. The appetizers were in the middle of the menu and I didn’t see any deserts. Plus there were a couple items that were mis-spelled. I get it, it’s new but come on, shouldn’t someone proof read the menu first? But I digress. I ordered sizzling tofu hot and spicy. That is what I got. The plate came sizzling, there was tofu and it was spicy as there were dozens of little cut up pieces of jalapenos in the make. The tofu was, in my mind, a little under cooked. My wife got a sizzling beef platter which she said it was good. I have to tell you though, if you want hot tea, their tea is really good. Jasmin tea. They don’t give you the little cups you usually get at any regular Chinese restaurant… oh no. They give you a normal size cup but they do not leave the pot with you. Hmm, strange. I think the prices are a little too high. I didn’t see really anything under $ 10.00. However, after working a lot of over time, I would like to try the grilled eel. That sounds good. I asked about deserts. I was desiring some bean cakes or something like that and the waitress said the only desert they had was sesame ball soup. What is that? Anyway, if you don’t mind spending a good deal of your pay check but want really good tea, try this place.

The waiter was very friendly and helpful. Not too busy when we came, but time it took for good to come out was great! The hot tea wss delicious! I recommend their hot and sour soup, green beans and fried rice. The walnut shrimp and pork dish ordered were also good. I’m glad a good Chinese place opened on this side of the Simi. Slightly more expensive than your typical place, but the proximity to home makes it convenient. Make sure to rsvp one hour ahead so they can prepare your duck. Guess will have to try it next time!

Bad: the soup come not hot, a little bit cold. All dishes feel like not hot enough, suggestion, heat the plate first. Good: the food taste good. That’s all it matters!!! Tangerine chicken: crispy, sweet, good Mao’s pork: I love this when I was in China. And they taste good! 就是感觉肉入味比较淡 京酱肉丝: I forgot the English name. Peking sauce pork strip… something like that. In China, we wrap them with cucumber and green onion strip and eat. The flavor is very similar but a little bit sweeter than what I had. BUT! I’m so glad that don’t need to drive an hour to get some Chinese food not fast Chinese food. I can’t wait to try other food in the menu~

I give this place 4 stars even after what I write. Ordered hot tea — great. I think it’s called peking pork — in peking sauce It came out pretty quickly. At first when it came out it was hot, then became cold fairly quickly. The flavor was sweet, and definitely flavorful. I enjoyed the texture of it just wish it was hotter. Rice came next — great rice! Just got cold quick Maos pork — that was awesome! Highly recommend this dish. Fantastic flavor with a touch of spice. Reminds me of a pot roast just way better. The pork had just the right amount of of fat on it. The red peppers tasted wonderful with the pork. Tangerine chicken — great! Another great recommendation to try. Sweet but not too sweet and very tasty. It Had a nice crispy outside, however I wish it was slightly more crispy. Hot and sour soup — good taste but served Luke warm :( At the end they gave us some orange slices. Service was great I believe because of the cold weather the dishes were cold which resulted in food becoming colder quicker. I don’t really feel it was there fault. I will be coming back.

It has just recently opened last Dec 24th and we live just nearby(3 minutes away). The food taste was delectable, obviously less if not zero sodium at all. No MSG taste. We love the mushroom-garlic hotpot and the scallion beef. We understand that they are still new the reason why the tangerine chicken we thought was almost forgotten. In general, it’s good food and friendly staff. We plan to return to try the Peking duck and call beforehand. We have found(hopefully) a new favorite Chinese place. I recommend this place to Simi Valley residents.

This is some of the best rice I have ever had! The walnut shrimp is very sweet, almost like a desert so only get it if you are in the mood for something like that. The tangerine chicken was great as well as the sweet and spicy soup.
