Pro Concrete and Landscape

Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. Comes across great and then lies, lies, lies. I had his subcontractors all begging me for money and the job was never completed. He steals money from people and has no intention of completing the work. He has 9M excuses as to why he /​his crew can’t show up. I was at home all day and he told me he had been at my property several times that day. My doors were open and he was never at the house. Even the concrete company refuses to do any further business with him and is pulling his license that he filed with them and suspects it’s falsified. Unfortunately, court is your only option to get money back. He drives a brand new car that is most likely paid for by taking money from unsuspecting homeowners that he steals from. Run from him. He is a crook.

Calling this guy a sociopath is an understatement.
We drew up a contract for him to redo my concrete driveway in pavers. The contract total was for $ 5700.00. He requested 33% to begin the project then five days later, he demanded another 33% for materials.
FYI, if a contractor is actually licensed, they’re legally ONLY allowed to ask for 10% up front.
On the first day, his worker did all the demo on my driveway, then on the following morning he told me he cannot work due to a holiday. Two days later, the demo was mostly cleaned but the contractor would not return calls.
He will be in contact through text messaging. He will also always blame his workers for not showing up when the reality is that he’s not paying them.
The following week, he called and he told me that he has no available workers and on the next several days… Still waiting for his workers, has so many excuses and it goes on and on and on. He has so many alibis and he is very good in making up stories and excuses. He is a Drama King and a total flake.
He will try and guilt you under the guise of being a single father trying to raise his daughter and trying to just make ends meet.
After about 3 weeks, I started on demanding my money. He apologized and assured me that the job would be finished before Thansgiving. He said that the job would take about 5 days. The job started on the morning of Halloween. As I type this, it’s been almost 5 weeks and my driveway and backyard are still in shambles.
Then I started demanding that the materials arrive. He told me he had ordered all the materials about five different times with an excuse for each time — his sister was illegally using his credit card so it got cancelled, the paver company had to make a custom color, the paver company is closed on the weekend, «I’m too sick and can’t get there,» «I already ordered the materials and it will be delivered tomorrow»… No materials ever arrived. I missed many days from work waiting on deliveries that never came.
He told me multiple times, «You pay and we we will deduct it from the balance.» I refused and again, told him I was done and I wanted a refund of my money. This included a rental of a large roll-​off construction bin that sat in from of my house for three weeks un paid for. He asked me to take care of it. I said, «NO, this was part of the contact that all the hauling away and cleanup would be provided by you.» He complained about there being more dirt than he thought and again asked me to take care of it. The dumpster company wouldn’t take it away and I finally had to pay them an additional $ 300 just to remove it from my property.
I regret not GOOGLE-​ing his name in the beginning. After about a week of his lies, I finally found his name associated with so many cases of fraud, cons and theft. There are many complaints from so many victims like myself in RIPOFF, KUDZU, Unilocal, MANTA and many others.
The complaints are all about money and lack of work. In my case, I gave him a bunch of money and the job actually started but never even close to completion.
He is a professional SCAMMER, CON MAN, LIAR, CRIMINAL. He advertises mostly on Craigslist and posts photos that are not his work. He’ll bring an album of work to your initial meeting that he supposedly had done but his one worker who actually showed up said it’s all a lie and he called him a «rat».
Any person who acts as contractor (without a license) and accepts payment from the property owner of more than $ 500.00 is committing a crime it is punishable by law.
DO YOUR RESEARCH FIRST!!!

Same experience here! Joe left with a check to purchase material & then come back to do the repairs — and never was seen again…
The check was deposited right away; Joe kept promising to show up «the next day» for several weeks… This guy is a total flake.

Same experience as the last guy! Joe comes over as a nice, well meaning guy but does not show up after taking deposit. I am also filing a suit against this unlicensed contractor. Lots of emails, texts and some calls but six weeks later, no job, no materials that were supposedly purchased with my money and no deposit returned. Beware. He advertizes a lot on Craigslist.

Very unreliable, nothing but empty promises! SAD!
